you can read about how to split fruits here. Feed all of them and then wait 6 hours.

Thank you, I (incorrectly) assumed that because I had already been feeding him quite a few pears with no change that only apples would give me what I needed. Of course now I've overshot into Cactaur Green. But using your methods I now know that I shall try 8 × Plums, 9 × Valfruit, 11 × Pineapples. Thanks for your help!

i fed my chocobo 4 plums it turnd sylph green then i fed it another 4 and it turnd celest green but i wanted snow white do i have to feed it pineapples to reduce it a bit ?
can someone help me out with this

My FC mate was in this situation and pineapples fixed it, although I am not sure if it took one step (single proc) or more.

So far I have fed my bird nothing but berries and he is currently at Gobbue Brown. I have over fed once, meaning I fed till i got the "feathers" message twice. I fed him 1 berry this morning before coming into work. If, from what I have read and researched here is on track, I should see Lavender when I get home. Then one more feed to get Raptor Blue, the color I am after. However it seems that there is a chance to go from Lavender to Gloom Purple, which I do not want. Fingers are crossed. I will update with results.

K. So I got my raptor blue this morning. When I got home he turned lavender. Feed him till I got the feathers message then went to sleep. Checked on him this morning and bam! Raptor Blue.
I feed him only berries and only till I got the feathers message, except once. Got feathery message twice.
Hope that helps
UPDATE: I meant to get this up earlier but just didn't have time. This is my bird!

Question that may have been answered, but screw 78 pages of text.
If you change your gc, does your chocobo color reset?
I found this site: http://ffxiv.consolegameswiki.com/wiki/Chocobo_Colors - and was aiming for slate grey. I procured the 21 berries, 7 apples, and 7 pears and one by one, shoved them down the hatch.
I ended up with Gloom Purple. How do I get on track back to grey? More apples and pears?

You could always reset his/her color and just do berries stopping when you get the "Feathers" message. After four plumage changes you will be at Gobbue Gray. From there maybe a Pineapples or a plums till the "Feathers" message would get you to the slate grey you are looking for. It's not proven, but it looks like it might work, value wise.I found this site: http://ffxiv.consolegameswiki.com/wiki/Chocobo_Colors - and was aiming for slate grey. GL.

I fed my rank 6 chocobo 3 O'Ghomoro berries then 3 Valfruit as per recipe on https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...pli=1&sle=true and achieved Rose Pink, starting from the default colur. Stable conditions were always good. I fed once every 24 real life hours, and on a friend's suggestion, within 6 hours prior to Tokyo midnight. (All those quests in FF11). He thought it might lead to the feathers growing message when we logged on the next day. I received the first feathers growing message at the second feed, after 2 O'Ghomoro berries, with Ul brown the resulting colour at the next logon. The second feathers growing message came on Day 6, after a third O'Ghomoro berry and then 3 Valfruit, one feed per RL day within 6 hours of Tokyo midnight. On Day 7 Joyeuse was Rose Pink, the colour I was aiming for. I hope you can add this to the study results. Thankyou everyone who contributed to the list of recipes on the spreadsheet.
