8th Session - 1 Berry Proc
Result:Adamantoise Green

9th Session - 1 Berry Proc
Result:Turquoise Green

Results for my last session came in as Turquoise Green. Seems to be pushing into blues finally. I'd like to try and find the other greens, but im not sure I can get there with single fruit changes from here. Im guessing another berry proc would put it to blue, so maybe ill try apples from here. Ill report back with whatever I get.

I just went from RolanBerry Red to Regal Purple by feeding berries till 1 new feathers message.

Experimenting a bit with which colors would bring you back from a color, seeing if there can be multiple (seems like it).

Does Chocobo Rank affect the number of fruit needed to change the colour or is my bird just incredibly greedy? These are my results so far with a rank 10 chocobo in a good condition stable;

Starting Colour: Desert Yellow
Pears x 9
Result - Lime Green

Starting Colour: Lime Green
Pears x 15
Result - Apple Green

Starting Colour: Apple Green
Plums x 17
Result - Celeste Green

I'm afraid your chicken is a Greedalox. The amount of fruit is variable. My FC mates have gotten different results on that. However, the amount seems to be irrelevant and RNG. Mind you, I say -seems-. You never know with SE.

For the record, my FC mate got to Celeste Green from Apple Green with 1 plum. His chicken is rank 5 and stable conditions were good.

Do I feed1 of each regardless of the number of "new feather" messages, or do I keep feeding each fruit till I see the message 3 times?

So glad to hear it! It's hard to predict from here. I haven't gotten many reports (as you can see in the log) from dark colours going darker. If you have the patience.... I would suggest trying one of the 'deepens <insertcolourhere>' fruits until you get the feather proc. Check the resulting colour, report to me pls =P
Then do the same for the other two. I mean, for science, right?

The thing is, feeding different fruits in 1 sitting means you won't know if you have overshot your goal. There is still RNG involved here because, SE.

EDIT: HOLD UP! Why are you not submitting your info for getting to Midnight Blue? GET GOING =P

Here's my feeling about the internal mechanics of this color changing puzzle !

I have the feeling that there's a little RNG in the variation, but i think, there's an internal RGB color and each fruit change this internal color.
The "new feather" message proc when the nearest color from your "internal" color change.
"Nearest" being the gap for each R, G and B between internal color and each possible color, sum them and choose the color with the minium value

Exemple :
For this, let's assume no RNG in the process and say O'Ghomoro Berrys change color like this : R-7 G-7 B+5
- 216-175-080 : Desert Yellow <= +1 berry
- 209-168-085 : Desert Yellow is still the nearest color with a sum gap of 19 (R7-G7-B5) <= +1 berry
- 202-161-090 : Cork Brown is the new nearest color with a gap of 38 (like desert yellow) < the "New Feather" message appear <= +1 berry
- 195-154-095 : UI Brown is the new nearest color with a gap of 30 (R17-G3-B10) < the "New Feather" message appear
etc...
With each color caped by 0 and 255.
The funny thing is if you go all out on berries, the internal color cap at 0-0-255 (pure blue) and the nearest color is Royal Blue with a gap of 235 ! (which test seems to prove right)

This is just an exemple of what I believe is happining server side. But SE loves his RNG and this where everything becomes dark !
My gut feeling is one berry can be something between that :
R (-4 < x < -7)
G (-4 < x < -7)
B (+4 < x < +7)
The best "constant value" i've found that work with most of the test (but not all) for the Berries is R-7 G-7 B+5

I posted this in the Reddit thread, but here are some of my results after feeding it enough to get 1 message:

Dalamud Red + Berry = Regal Purple
Regal Purple + Berry = Royal Blue
Royal Blue + Pineapple = Regal Purple
Regal Purple + Apple = Dalamud Red
Dalamud Red + Pear = Regal Purple
Regal Purple + Pear = Russet Brown

I sort of ended up going around in a circle. That fifth result isn't a typo either, somehow when I tried to "deepen the green hues" of Dalamud Red, it turned Regal Purple.
