Angry Controller (DS4) customization / more macros

    Hi,
Currently the binding for Dualshock 4 controls is very limited. Please increase the controller customization options/allow controller key binding. Specifically, allow L1/R1 to scroll through party/all/npcs/enemies, if configured to do so.

Also (FOR CRYING OUT LOUD) make some target "next" and "previous" party member macros. Disabling a crosshotbar so you can select a party member, then reenabling the crosshotbar to select an action is a pain in the ass.

    /targetpartyup
    /tpup
    /targetpartydown
    /tpdn

Or (easiest solution!) enable default actions on the d-pad when the corresponding active Xhotbar slot is empty, the way circle/X/square (cancel/select/jump) do now.

Or (very practical) have one letter macros accomplish the corresponding keyboard keybind, instead of placing that letter in the active chat bar. IE: a "w" macro would move your character forward.

For the Healers in particular (but not only for them) even when playing on cotroller I think the best and fastest to select party memebrs (especially later on in full parties) is F1 - F8 on keyboard. Fire up the spell on your "main" targetr (usually tank) nd while it's CD is running switch to secondary target (plenty of time for that during 2.0 ~ 2.5 seconds) once the CD is up fire spell and swithc back to main or to other target. Rinse and repeat ...

Well - I still use keyboard to chat anyway most of the time so not much problem for me. Plus - one of my friends was in exactly the same situation - wanting to play using controller only without (big) keyboard on his lap. He end up having a "custom" keyboard made which plugs into USB and have only F1 to F8 keys (it's actually programable to any other keys as well) and could be clipped on the controller ... I'm in the process of making two of those for myself and one of my other friend as well.

I'm sure Mad Catz is working on one.

    how it should work

Using 4 macros and 4 Xhotbars, the desired action can be made for a party of 4. In theory it could be done for a party of 8 as well, but you would lose your fixed #8 Xhotbar that is usually reserved for this all classes use.

    the macros works like this:
(Description-"Button1", Placed in active d-pad down slot, XHotbar 1)
    /chotbar change 2
    /target <2>

(Description-"Button2", Placed in active d-pad down slot, XHotbar 2)
    /chotbar change 3
    /target <3>

(Description-"Button3", Placed in active d-pad down slot, XHotbar 3)
    /chotbar change 4
    /target <4>

(Description-"Button4", Placed in active d-pad down slot, XHotbar 4)
    /chotbar change 1
    /target <1>

With these 4 macros; whenever you press the down button, as described, the hotbar changes to the next one sequentially, and simultaneously cycles to the next party member down. That is, until it cycles back to the top (player 1) after player 4.

    ...

    continued...
Once the Xhotbar/player cycling macros are complete and in place, you can replicate the same actions on each Xhotbar in the same slots, giving the player 7 skills (one side) or 15 skills (two side).

    --------------

This could be just as easily replicated at dev level (for parties of 2-8) by enabling default actions on the d-pad when the corresponding active Xhotbar slot is empty, the way circle/X/square (cancel/select/jump) do now.

A better way to choose party members would be quite helpful, but change it now would not distinguish a good and well aware healer from any other average healer. I see it in the raids, many healers can't handle move/target/heal/self-healing.
My complains are pointed to how the macros can be used, ex.:
I have a macro for my "Stoneskin" ability, but it have an awfull flaw, I start with <tt> and then move to <t> and finally end in <me>, but WHY:
    1 - Tanks NEED to focus in agro generation, so I(in theory) will have always the rigth target while <tt>;
    2 - can use it on quests npcs and companions <t>;
3 - self cast if the other 2 cast fail.
... the flaw occurs before each fight IF the tanker, or any player, has an active target. StoneSkin will not work ... since i did'nt spend much time with a work around my macro will stay like this.

Another problem comes in pin-point situations when you need to use an ability who are under a sequence of macros ... you don't have the CD reference from that ability and I don't know how to do an error msg to show in the message log how much time I need to wait to recast "Shroud of Saints", for an example.

    /recast "Shroud of Saints"

That's all there is to it.
