The point was more that they recognize it as an issue in general and can therefore address it going forward. I was never looking for an immediate fix, that would be an impossible thing to ask for. However, them at least acknowledging it's a thing and moving forward from there (even if it starts only in certain areas at first) is good. Them addressing it in the live letter and not just commenting somewhere random is a major win. Even if you don't want to see it that way.
I would think most people are primarily concerned with this issue in areas where single attacks can kill you or render you unable to continue the fight (e.g. being knocked out of the ring on Titan HM), so they are picking the areas that are the most likely pain points for people that suffer from these issues.
I think it's less of a big deal in the field areas
Yep. It'd be awesome if they'd announced they were planning more sweeping changes, but that's a massive undertaking. This seems like a pretty realistic fist step.I would think most people are primarily concerned with this issue in areas where single attacks can kill you or render you unable to continue the fight (e.g. being knocked out of the ring on Titan HM), so they are picking the areas that are the most likely pain points for people that suffer from these issues.

It's triage. Triage is cool as long as treatment continues.
It will still be very frustrating, but at least, it won't prevent people from finishing the game. It'll turn from gamebreaking to simply very annoying. It's a minimum imho, but one that I wasn't even sure would come, so I'm glad they are doing it.I would think most people are primarily concerned with this issue in areas where single attacks can kill you or render you unable to continue the fight (e.g. being knocked out of the ring on Titan HM), so they are picking the areas that are the most likely pain points for people that suffer from these issues.

Exactly. I was *hoping*, but didn't *expect* anything. Which is why I am very pleased right now.

Nobody cares about this issue other then in endgame/pvp circumstances.
I could give a rats ass about a random goblin in idontcarelocation that hits me for a 300 Bomb Toss out of my 6500HP...as long as it's "fixed" in endgame...I'm fine with it.
He SPECIFICALLY MENTIONED ENDGAME IN GENERAL. Not just Primal Fights. Don't start any false rumours cause there are a shitton of people jumping the bandwagon and spread lies which hurts the game for no reason.Right now my concern though is that they've talked about Primordial fights and PvP. Great for that, if it works (will it work 100%? I surely hope so, for the sake of their game). However, how about Coil? CT? I know Coil just wasn't fun for me because of that (ADS laser etc.) I hated this instance, because it made me feel unjustly punished, not heroic at all. So, when would a Coil / CT fix come, if ever? That's quite concerning.

Seriously? I didn't hear that while watching Reinhard's translation (who said he couldn't translate everything though, so I agree we shouldn't take that as fact).
The official Q&A translation in this forum doesn't say specifically though.
Q2: You have said that in FFXIV: ARR, the character's position is checked by the server once every 0.3 seconds. However there are times where the character receives AoE damage even though the character on the screen is outside of the range. Seems like the information on character's position is not up to date. Is there any plan to make an adjustment to this?
A2: If we apply faster response times in all areas, the load on the servers will be too much. Therefore, while it will only be for certain areas (for example high-level content and the Wolves' Den), you will be able to notice the faster response times. Please stay tuned!
If it's all high-level content, including Coil, CT etc., then I stand corrected. And satisfied!![]()
“Focus on the journey, not the destination.
Joy is found not in finishing an activity but in doing it.”
Why would he say high-lvl content and exclude the most obvious high-lvl content in that statement? xD high-lvl content doesn't mean "Primals only" it means high-lvl content, which in my book is "general for endgame". Everything else is nitpicking xDSeriously? I didn't hear that while watching Reinhard's translation (who said he couldn't translate everything though, so I agree we shouldn't take that as fact).
