Why don't lowbie dungeons award Philosophy to synced level 50s?

I had this chat with members of my FC today and it’s a pretty simple common thing:

Why don’t lowbie dungeons award Philosophy to level 50’s running them? For what insane reason would you NOT add this?

Hear me out
• We get synced
• It still takes 30-60mins to run them (Just did Breyflox on a Turn 4 cleared Paladin)

This would promote high level people to run lower dungeons of course there would be some rules I guess like you don’t get award philosophy with a full premade group. But if someone in my FC wanted help clearing something and I on my level 50 maxed Paladin decide “Hey sure I’m going to get a few phils from it why not”

Not it’s like “Err 50mins of my time for nothing in return, I’ll pass thanks but ill keep banging my head on the walls of AK for 50 runs”

Thoughts?

To add a little more I'm not talking give 80 like AK. I'm saying why not give between 10-60 or even 10-80 DEPENDING on how long it takes. Of course as I said this would only work if you are queuing as a Solo/Duo/Trio as you are then helping out a random person.

It rattles me how things like this weren't thought BEFORE release, surely you must of seen everyone and there grand mother running AK over and over forcing horrible eye gouging moments. It would be a nice fresh change to say today ill run a few lowbie dungeons I haven't seen in awhile at least the 40/50 Minutes of my time isn't wasted.

Someone argued that "There is a story behind the Tomestones. There is no reason why they should be in Halatali. And there is way less reason why a lvl 20 shouldnt get them in halatali while a lvl 50 in the same halatali aat the same time should get them".

Counter-point: "You can easily omit the story part with something like : at lvl 50 u recive an item which allows you to recive philo from low lvl dungoens thats all backstory needed isnt it?"

So yea, what gives YoshiD?

+1 I would like to see this happen as SOME incentive for helping beyond... just helping.

How about you just run it to be nice with other people in your FC and help them progress so maybe later on they'll come back and help you with crafting/other stuffs? It pays to be nice instead of having an incentive to be nice everytime.

I actually like this idea, anything that makes it worth while.
I've been helping my FC mates more often now in dungeons and I would love to get anywhere from 5 - 15 phylo tomes per boss.
I would say make it drop boss completion.

I Just did this for Breyflox, that's when the idea hit me. Of course you can help people and they always will but why would it hurt for there to be a nice reward for level 50s re-running lower levels? Why do I have to help someone? What if I want to relive those lowbie dungeons and take a break from AK? Why can I not also get phils this way?

We are SYNCED it's not like we can speed through it.

You totally missed the point and went right for the "SHAD UP AND HELP PEOPLE" I do nothing but help people in my FC. However I also enjoy this game and would like to look at a different shade of colour than AMDAPOR KEEP.

Ok, I guess I got the wrong tone from your post. It would be a nice incentive to run different dungeons just for the sake of nostalgia and it would certainly ease up the AK waiting time a bit.

I was thinking that once you have a class to 50 all of your classes should get 5 tomestones per boss in any dungeon.

It's not enough that most players would clear trash just to farm the first boss in a low level dungeon for 5 tomes every 15-20 minutes. And the system doesn't let you go in as a higher level to make it super easy. It would be enough to feel like you're accomplishing something on your already high level character as a whole.

Considering the game wants you to do everything on one character and when players are bored all the replies are "level an another class". Yeah that's great and all, but then you can Fate farm the alt to 50 and rerun the same handful of dungeons you already ran 70 times with another class.


Just a thought to keep the low level game more active. You have to consider after the launch rush moves through even more new players are going to have a hell of a time progressing their story quests with all the required dungeons and all the veteran players leveling alt classes with Fates

I agree, doing AK over and over again gets really stale after a while, especially when you don't need anything from it. I'm not sure about requiring the player to be level 50, but at least having one class at level 50.

I would enjoy that. More people would get to see more content with experienced players, god willing, who are patient enough to describe the boss encounter. Can acquire equipment for the classes you are interested in playing and contribute to the community, making it stronger at the same time.

I mean people are complaining about dungeons not giving much exp too, but with the queues filled with players who can help each other out the chances that you will acquire the bonus for the swift completion of first time objectives will increase.

I mean obviously that will come to an end eventually, but for now it would have been a useful implementation.

This is a great idea and as a small addition to it I think they should also include the lower-leveled Primal Fights and also possibly Guildhests. This would be mutually beneficial to both the low-leveled players who would be able to find Primal Parties more easily and to the Level 50's who would have an alternate source of Tomes. As the guy above said, this also strengthens the community if players are nice about it :)

Lowbie instances when synced are not more challenging to do at level 50. Your synced gear is still way more powerful than the gear that was available to you at the level of the instance. Once they make HM versions of the lowbie dungeons that I am sure you could expect to see a few tombs, but no one should be getting any end game currencies for doing Sashasta.

Why not? Its not as though CM or Praetorium are hard or challenging either, especially in dl or Allagan, which are not scaled down at all. Adding an incentive to run the lower leveled content would be a good thing as far as I'm concerned. Maybe it's not a huge issue right this moment, but there is going to be a point where new players are unable to complete dungeons they are forced into doing by the story because of excessive queue times, and a system like this would both ensure that doesn't happen and provide a diversity of environments for tome grinders to work through. There really isn't a downside.

And I fully agree that they should include some form of incentive for players to replay this content. But could you imagine what would happen if they did this? Players are already complaining and freaking out because end game ppl want to speed run through AK and CM. If they now added tombs to lower level instances all the new players doing Sashasta would not be pushed around and bullied by these speed runners blasting the crap out of the instance.

Just wait for the Hard Modes of the low level instances.

Hard modes is TWO Dungeons, that could be AK/WP Again. Can you wait to have that amount of fun? I know I can't the excitement kills me.

Your point about speed running it may happen, it may not. That's dependent on how SE implement it.

As for the issue with "Sync" and gear, no you are wrong, it's actually more of a challenge to go back get synced do lower level dungeons with random first timers than it is for me to form an AK party where EVERYONE in the group out gears it (Yes remember we don't get synced at 50 our gear just gets better) I did brayflox earlier with 3 randoms I died twice on two different bosses because my healer was new. I didn't rage I actually ENJOYED it and I'm not one who enjoys dying but considering it wasn't AK I didn't mind.

It also took 55 Minutes, was I about to waste another 55 Minutes for 0 gain? NOPE! Would I if I got a Philosophy so I don't have to look at AK? In the words of Mr White: You're DAMN RIGHT

With the sync system there is absolutely no reason for SE not to have this in the game, it promotes end game players to go back and redo content that at some point new players will need help with. Once everyone hits 50 and is re-leveling alts how many of them do you think will touch a dungeon/primal/guildhest? So instead give level 50s a reason to be SYNCED and redo the content.

Isn't that the daily random dungeon SE already announced to implement?

I haven't heard about this. But surely this would mean we pick ONE dungeon to do daily for a small phils reward? It still means after that 40 AK or 40 CM runs nothing else

There will be rewards for people who queue up as jobs that the DF is low on matching people with and a daily reward for hitting a "Randomize" button which randomly matches you with any possible dungeon or instanced battlefield.

This ontop of bonus bronze pieces(because they're so against anything higher from dungeons) will probably be what we end up getting for hitting random in 2.1, will probably get the random house piece or 2 also....oh wait I forgot it's only fc housing in 2.1....nvm.

Because low level dungeons are dreadfully easy compared to high level dungeons.
The amount of effort involved is far different, even though the time investment is the same.

what kind of effort are you speaking of? AK, CM are all tank and spank. People just gather mob and press aoe.

They're still a lot harder than any of the low level dungeons are, that's for sure.

harder in what sense? all dungeon are either aoe evade or dps add. You only felt it was hard because you was levelling and undergeared.

Girl's right. The level 50 dungeons are just silly. I've been running them in spiritbound gear and whites, and it's still silly to heal it.

This is an excellent suggestion. It would be a huge boon to low level players trying to complete their story quests in these dungeons, since it would reduce the queue time by quite a bit. I strongly recommend doing this

Liked that idea.

This is a good idea - or some other incentive - to reward people that help other players.

I'm just going to play something else until this game's balls drop, for the most part. Got to 50. I have no big plan of crafting (boring-ass money sink) and I'll probably do more gathering than anything else in the meantime (Its mindless relaxation, oddly enough. I dig it. Has the same 'wind down before bed' vibe to it that playing angry birds on my phone does.)

Farming AK for tokens? Nope, won't do it. I've youtubed what little story there is for coil. I'll work real hard at blowing something up when it looks less like a nasty little list of chores and more like something fun.

Funnily enough, I'd be happy to do the lower level dungeons if I got anything out of it except long-ass queue time waits, but, I'm DPS. I can queue for every dungeon on the list and still wait 30m-1 hour to get into so much as Sastasha, just for something to do.

Which I've done, just for something; anything; fun to do. The dungeons -are- pretty fun.

But I won't do it anymore. I don't care and I have no reason to. I absolutely would if it in any way contribute to me getting something in return, preferably things like tokens of philosophy that'd directly contribute to my next tier of necessary upgrades, but it doesn't. So, nope.

So maybe that's why they should think about doing this; it'd help keep people like me playing, i.e: people that won't do a lot of stupid crap we don't want to do because we don't actually give a flying spit if we're 'elite' or if we imagine everyone's admiring us yet.

As it is, this game has zero appeal for anyone other than hardcore endgame masochists that think its a good idea to farm one dungeon hundreds of times just so they can...I don't even know. Farm the next thing hundreds of times.

Looks painful. Painfully stupid. I'm out.

I like OP idea, also dungeon runs should yeld same (or slightly better) xp/hour as fate farming (excluding abuse of certain encounter). There are just too many fate breed retards.

My main (first 50) is paladin and i love tanking. Every time i do dungeon with terrible tank while i am leveling dps job, i do same instance with duty finder on my pld to reedem tanks. So i am nice to fellow players, but OP is right, low level dungeons need that extra something to get more people into them. I would love to level my other jobs in instances instead of mindless fate AOE spamfest.
