I don't know but, boss battles that follow a pattern, I don't see them being hard honestly.
SE has already stated that when the next, more difficult content is released, the previous difficult content will be made easier. Basically cycling difficulty levels so hardcores can get a chance at the greater difficulty, while allowing casuals to continue progress.
Well I expected this much considering current difficult level is to prevent everyone from burning through the current endgame content due to how little there is now.
once 2.1 is add we can expect a nerf on HM Primal fights during 2.1 or after 2.1 so a good amount of people can start entering the Extreme difficulty Primals, crystal tower, Good king Moggle Mog Primal Fight, Hard Mode Dungeons, and Binding coil.

No seriously, I do not believe in nerfs,when I hit this content and it becomes nerf I will feel less interested on tackling it. I want to get my ass kicked across the chasm and fail and learn and rage and at the end be satisfied for beating something hard.
you still got a month or 2 before that nerf happens so start picking up the pace. It only take a few weeks to reach your first lvl 50 and enter endgame. Though it is kind of difficult now to find groups to help build up your endgame gear now due to school starting.
(currently still trying to get full DL set and my Ifrit weapon. Also building up my gil by selling shard so I can pay for the repair bills for endgame)
They will nerf it when something better comes out per the devs... still think that is a stupid idea though.
But honestly, titan hardmode is not really hard. It just requires people to Dodge and do enough dmg to the heart. If you do that you win every time... it is really that easy.
Know the bomb paterns and where to run... dodge knockback and eruption things. Healers use aoe heals on stops... and you win.
Most important thing is run with a guild/static... and stop using DF for it. That will increase success rate 20 fold.
Word of advice on anyone having issues, learn the bosses patterns. Every fight in XIV ARR is 100% scripted, if you learn the patterns you know what is coming and it is easily avoidable. The bosses patterns are exactly the same every time, unless you deal enough dmg to skip a phase.
Titan isn't hard because of the mechanics. He's hard because of a dated and flawed netcode system. Even on 50 ping (I play JP connection to JP servers) I was still hitting hit by Titan AOE (despite being WELL out of it on my screen BEFORE it disappeared)
Given his margin for error (basically none. Get hit by one AOE and you're cooked. Sometimes you can take a bomb hit or ground floor hit but it's still 50/50 if you live) you can see why most aren't clearing.
Garuda gets cleared constantly by most because you can screw up so bad and still kill him.
Well until you guys have played this on PS3 with a throttling connection (looks like you're doing the fight solo...) then you are just bad if you can't beat Titan (or rather, I should say want a nerf on titan). I mean animations delays (PS3) + positioning lag (throttling)? If you want a challenge in this game stop playing easy mode on your PCs. It' one thing when you have to react faster because the animation doesn't start until 50% of the cast time (so you know where to move) but when you have to move 20 yalms out of range with atleast 1 second of clearance? And don't get me started when all of the party members are still visually at the starting point and they tell you to spread out for the plumes. Oh and plumes spawn in waves due to throttling?
I can do Titan HM with 300 ping from Malta. Its one of the easiest fights because it require no reaction skills. Its a prediction fight with pre-scripted attacks.
Why nerf it? So the average joe duty finder group can do it in their white gear and AF1?
It's not even a hard fight, it's just a dance.
people need to just stop being lazy and get geared up for stuff they r all just skipping stuff and dont want to do things in order cuz they want that relic so silly :P
Only hard thing about it is getting 7 other people to also learn his rotation of skills (though after the heart you almost carry 2 people through the fight).
I have an average ping of 130-140ms to the JP servers and haven't had a single problem with it. As Ghasto put it, the primal fights are basically a dance of skill rotations (in, out, in, out).
something is wrong here.. its not Titan that is hard, its the game mechanics that need a big lag nerf..
everytime he does a push skill, theres 50/50 chance that you dodged.. even thou you dodge it in your screen 99% of the times.
and the worst part, is that if you "dodge" it in your screen and place your self in his side, you will get pushed to a completely different direction.. like.. the push is towards South, but you walk to near him and have him standing at your right.. then you will receive the laggy push to East o.O
There's no animation delay on PC. I have play this game on both (and beat Titan on PS3). On PC, when he starts the attack, the Landslide/Plume will appear on the ground. On PS3, 50-60% through the cast time, the Landslide/Plume appears on the ground. You do not play on PS3 and therefore could not know this. Moreover, PS3 players simply have to have faster reaction times because they have less time to escape from the time the damage area loads on the screen.
If they can't fix the lag issue server side then absolutely give a longer timer to give people more time to move.
If we gave most normal WoW bosses an buff through SE netcoding they would probably pose a challenge too -_-
By animation delay I assumed you meant the animations occur before the action, which can be a problem with interrupts, and makes instant casts not instant at all. What you're basically saying is that on PS3, it's even worse than horrible. If this really is true, I don't understand why anyone wanting to do endgame content have any reason to play this game on PS3 at all.
As a side-note, reaction times is mostly irrelevant in MMO gaming. The average reaction time of a human is about 215 ms, so anywhere between 190-230 would probably be of highest prevalence, 40 ms difference is hardly game breaking. Failure typically comes from lack of awareness, focus or anticipation.
You really can't compare FFXIV to other mmo's because other mmo's aren't made by SE. Compare it to FFXI if anything, and then think about how soon you'll see a nerf to content.
If they nerf Titan they just treat a symptom and not the cause.
Titan isn't rly hard. His actions are predictable and he has a simple skill rotation.
The main problem is the delay. Even if you see yourself outside of any attacks, you still get hit. I play from Europe and in order to get out of the puddles I have to run before they even appear.
Nerfing Titan fixes nothing. He's just the first boss delay will kill you. It goes on with Bahamut's coil turn 2. My FC-group tried hours to kill it and it always failed cause the boss wasn't interrupted even if the skill was casted in time or our melees couldn't run out of the AoE even if they saw themselves outside.
After hours of frustration we all tried Lowerping and surprise: no laggs, no delay, boss was dead the second try. After that we did Titan with 6 ppl and we did it without problems.
Titan doesn't need a nerf - delay does!
Hard to say, it might be nerfed a bit, but I half expected content in general to get semi-nerfed to balance the Hard/Extreme difficulty content once they come out with them.
It's the lag that is a problem there, not the difficulty.
I never seen this lag on Titan. Usually when people say its lag its an excuse for messing. Sure its not your connection/PC. Killed Titan HM many times no lag what so ever.

No it works fine as long as I don't go into a dungeon. It's only that bad in Titan etc. so I don't think it's just my connection.

Yeah nerf when they come out with extreme , the. What are you gonna do complain about extreme? Content will only get harder and if you can't beat, work on your game... Things are only going to get harder... Not easier
Clearly your agenda here isn't supported by the facts so you ignore them.
FACT: the vast majority of the complaints about Titan HM is NOT that it's hard, it's that it's UNPLAYABLE due to server lag making 'run out of the red' impossible a lot of the time because by the time your client SEES the red you already got hit ON THE SEVER!

Nopenopenope. The fight itself is good as it is. What makes is hard is the bad network coding SE is using with the game. Challenge is good, fight is awesome, the problem lies elsewhere.
I play on NA server from Eu and the lag does not bother me as much as ppl complain, but that is from my side.
on the topic, I had tried with pug pt on my server with some pt and I have yet to get any win on titan and have not my relic wep, despite that I do not wish for Ifrit, Garuda or Titan HM become easy or get nerf. I enjoy those fight as they are now and I love them, nerf them and make them easy after introduce extreme mode or new content will make the HM become hand out, I will take that offer but will not have a big smile as I have now when I win or wipe by them as they are now
They will nerf current endgame when 2.1 releases new content. They feel only the top tiers of content should have the full challenge. That and to allow newer players andchance to catch up to everyone.
Oh that feel. Being in the Oceanic region that is just all so familiar, of course I've seen others be flung in all kinds of directions. While I love that the person laughed, in HM that's not funny and it really crushes you and the groups morale.
The fact we have to use instant casts as soon as we get out of that is 1. Mana drain, especially as a White Mage. 2. GCDs. The only other way we can avoid that is by always moving, and to be able to heal you have to stop or swiftcast. So if anyone but the tank gets hit the chances of you getting hit get higher.
I've been asked why I keep moving in Titan and I respond the same way, if I stop.. I'm dead.
Can't wait for Titan Extreme.
