BRDs need an AoE LB!

Seriously, if the DF want's to keep sticking 2-4 BRDs in the same HM Ifrit/Garuda group at least give us a LB that can actually help our team.

I mean yes there's ways to win without it, I've done it, if people are willing to listen and are geared enough to permit said strategies.

But it's REALLY irritating to constantly wait 20 mins to an hour for a group only to have everyone bail the instant you get in cause there's no BLM or SMN, why in the hell do we have a healer LB!?

Last time I checked we're support but we don't heal!

P.S Yes, I'm whining...don't care, even if I leveled both tank classes I'd still have this problem even if my queues are shorter, I'm not talking about the occasional group that has this happen, I'm talking 4-6 straight HOURS of this happening.

And as far as FC goes everyone is more interested in bashing their heads against a wall with HM Titan and coil, but I know I need gear first, DF is the only option.

No one doesn't think BRD should have a different LB. Gonna change eventually whether its tomorrow, next week, or when they release a gun class that's pure dd.

I agree that bards should be given an AOE LB, but until then, they should update Dungeon Finder for Primals to look for at least one SMN/BLM. This goes for both Ifrit and Garuda. For Titan, they need to remove one tank slot and allow either 3 healers or 5 DPS. I haven't really had this issue with normal dungeons though. 2 bards usually do fine.

You do realize if us BRDs were given a DPS LB, that there would be literally no point in bringing MNK or DRG? We have the easiest positioning/movement mechanics during dungeons/HM encounters and our support mechanics are always good especially with a fellow WHM. Thus, we don't really need heals (assuming that BRD is a decent player), and can pull out great burst and letting our heals literally only heal the tank(s).

What SE really needs to do, is integrate a way to prevent more than 2 of the of the same job entering 8 man DF's. Saying BRDs should just get a DPS LB doesn't really solve the problem, in fact it creates more.

SMN and BLM get DPS limit breaks too, AOE, so there must currently be no reason to bring MNK or DRG according to you.

True that they cant leave BRD with healer LB's, because when they do add msk or any other ranged dps class that isn't a finger wiggler, it will be awkward and stupid for them to have healing LB's. Ranger especially better have a sweet LB like Ultimate Arrow Shock Wave or something, not a Revive.

BLM and SMN aren't support, BRD is a support class, Archer flows into Bard because that's how it is in many western MMOs and a few Korean MMOs - They have a support limit break even if they're DPS.

Wouldn't be a problem if they stuck with the XI style Bard in the way it was an obvious support role so there would be no confusion or "demands" to change it's support nature in any way.

There is no such thing as support classes/jobs in ARR. BRD is DPS, and just so happens to queue in duty finder as such.

Bards DO have an aoe lb.

Brd limit break should be a support. That increases critical, makes skill and spell speed faster, and reduces skill cool down by 25, 50, 75 % based on how many bars you have.

I don't mind the healing LB, but getting stuck with 2 Bards in a 4 man stinks. Also, sometimes people (DPS) forget/don't know how to LB and I get kinda of frustrated because I can't do it myself.

Since bard is support, not healing, they should have had an AoE LB like Offensive magic gets, but that does status effects to enemies and/or buffs to allies in the area (targeted, and amount of each and how strong depending on the LB level)

Actually BRD is support, they have 3 buffs, 1attack, and 1boost for their buffs. Any other skill is from Pugilist or Archer (which are both dd classes).

THere is no poin in bringin MNK or DRG now... because All you need is SMN or BLK

I think the bard's LB is perfectly spot on, keep in mind that if a party needs a healing limit it means that either the healers are dead or they are in deep shit and can't stop healing for a sec and the LB casting time is quite long, so having a support job doing it is the way to go. Honestly most of the time I've seen that LB it was done by a bard and I myself have saved a few pugs from a wipe with it.
And don't forget that using a limit is optional, you can complete every fight without using any LB.

Limit Breaks should be something more than just a one button press from 1 group member anyway.

We should active the limit break and have each group member have to perform an action (of some kind) in various sequences to get the effects you want such as damage or healing.

Current LB for bard is VERY good for end game. It should never be changed.

AoE LB?

Anything other than healing would be great. Healing Wind for a DPS job is among the top 5 dumbest design decisions ive seen in any MMO. So much so I think the issue was somehow never even brought up since ARR development started. Because no designer worth paying a minimum wage could possibly, and consciously, make this decision to leave it as is.

BRD is not support. Three very situational practically useless abilities among a ton of DPS do not not make BRD a support class. There isnt even a 'support' role in Duty Finder! BRD's are DPS or DD ... whatever you want to call it.

Look I don't even play bard, and never will, but giving a DPS class a healers LB is retarded. you will ALWAYS have a healer in the party for healer LB, but you may, as said, get stuck with no melee dps and no magic dps, meaning no attack LB.

Yeah, I don't really get it either. You will always have a healer, and always a tank, so giving either of those to Bard is redundant. On the other hand, you won't always have single target and AOE damage LB's, so it definitely seems like a weird decision to me.

Bard doesn't need offensive limit break.

It's Archer that need Ranger as a branched job with offensive limit break.

I agree, BRD needs AoE LB. Healing LB is pointless, there will always be a healer and a tank.

Bard was initially planned to be support but changed to DPS. That is why it is kind of awkward as DPS and has some support abilities, including it's limit break. If you don't like it, play a different class. I personally don't want to play bard as a DPS class right now because it has support abilities that would prevent me from focusing only on DPS if I were to be a team member and play correctly.

Although some of you find bard's limit break useless, it's not. It's helpful for situations where the team is struggling. This explains it best:

a AOE LB would make more sense, since bard is on top 3 of the aoe DDs, but even a single target LB would make more sense then this healing.

While i was still a archer, i did manage to use the healing LB quite some times to save people, but now at high lvls is useless..
a white mage or scholar can very easily use a shiftcast + aoe heal which heals everyone much better(and faster) then the healing LB.

Bard doesn't need an offensive limit break. Bard LB is actually very well planned. Unlike Healers, Bard can roam the area very freely and dodge possible patterns that are able to kill casting Healers. So when Healers are dead, Bard has the only "OH SHIT" -ability to save the whole party from wiping - just because the class can move a lot better around than Healers.

You just let someone else do that, ffs there are 4 players in a light party and only one limit gauge, you don't have to always be the one using it. And as I stated before, the LB is absolutely optional, despite the common strategies used in pugs every content can be done without a limit. Demon Wall in AK can easilly be killed with 2 bards, Titan's heart can be killed with 4 dps without using any LB and i couldn't test it myself, but I'm pretty sure even Ifrit can be done without a limit, so I really don't get all the fuss here, besides the "meh I don't get to use the fleshy epeen move" complain.

Bards are arguably the highest single target dps in the game.
Bards have extremely high burst (probably the highest, but BLMs are pretty close?)
Bards are the most mobile dps class in the game.
Bards have the best utility in the game (songs, silence, root, slow)

Give us a stun and a dps limit break and we won't need to bring any other classes to anything. Maybe a BLM for AoE once in awhile..

Since Bard is kinda supporty, I always thought it'd be neat if their LB gave a party-wide Brave or Faith or Haste or something along those lines. Healing LB on a support role makes some sense, but it's so rarely called for from a Bard that by-and-large it just feels useless.

I've only ever seen maybe 2 situations where the Bard could have saved a wipe with an LB3. However, in both cases the Bard didn't use it because they weren't used to LBing and either a: assumed someone else had already used it (i.e. they paid no attention to the LB gauge because of how infrequently Bards actually need to LB) or b: they didn't have LB on their hotkeys (again, because of how infrequently Bards actually need to LB).

even i tink its stupid to have Healing /revive LB on a support class(or whatever you call it).
its more fitt to have some short of buff type LB.
like spell/skill speed buff and/or more damage output.
dont see the point in the same LB as a Healer class on a support/DPS class.

almost the same as giving a DRG the healer LB. only thing diffrent is DRG is melee(DPS) and Bard is range (DPS or Support) depends who is reading here.

Then we'll all be playing the bard game. Only bards/tanks/healers brought for anything

I don't know about you guys but I used a BRD limit when all the healers were dead on Titan and I kind of saved the run. Sooo. *shrug*
