BLM entered, went AFK>>>> collects 100 Tomestones.


Since it took many of us so long in DF we just did the run anyway (because who wants to suffer through DF again)+ 15 mins because of one or two people?

And this next part.. I can't believe I'm actually typing this because I can't believe they actually did this... but YOU CAN NOT KICK SOMEONE EVER.
There's NO way to remove someone from party, Once their In their in for good unless you want to forfeit your run.....
there's not even a /facepalm graphic good enough for this one...

When I finished CM, my FC mate was ranting on our FB about another player on his CM run that also went AFK after he entered on his CM run at the same time.


I guess the babies from AK are rebelling? Very very sad.

This isn't new. =( I've been reading about this issue forever on the forums and the Dungeon sub-forum has quite a few people asking for a kick-feature.

It will get addressed. I suggest everyone/someone create a bug report or report the person in game using the feedback to GM. They should be jailed by a GM for this behavior for 24 hours imo.

Yeah I get that people will behave as bad as they can in DF; but what I don't get is how SE doesn't understand this? Are things so different in JP that social shunning prevents this behavior?

I imagine this stuff happens on the JP side as well. It's a inherint flaw with the duty finder system, it's why I can not wait until the party board for server only interactions becoming a easier thing to implement.

I really do wish they would introduce a kick feature already, having one would be misused yea but would it be as bad as it is now? I highly doubt it. There are so many little brats in the duty finder now that if they can't get their own way they'll throw a tantrum and sit on the floor rendering them a complete waste of space.

Had an issue in Brayflox's Longstop with a tank who refused to play or leave the dungeon. He tried to let the DRG who took the hate off him die when the boss was ~75%HP. The three of us pulled together to finish the fight, while he died from the random water bubble attack. Tbh it made the fight a lot of fun =p

After it was over, he said he wouldn’t continue with the DRG in the group. There was some bickering between to the two and some general unpleasantness. I finally asked the tank to either play the game or leave so we can finish the dungeon. He said he didn’t want to suffer the 15min penalty because he had an FC event, so he waited around 25min while we went through some trash mobs and attempted the final boss without a tank.

I’ve had way more good experiences in duty finder than bad, but I would welcome a vote kicking system. If they do implement a vote kicking system, I hope they put some anti-loot stealing measures. Something like no votes can be initiated for ~2min after a boss fight or when loot up for claim.

I hope so, but Yoshi said that a kick option might make people "be mean" to each other which is partially why we can't send tells to people. It's stupid. For as challenging as some of this games content is/can be Yoshi has some really casual approaches to things.

Will the afk feature get them now? If the run takes longer than 30min?

I've had mainly great DF experiences. But, there's obviously a few bad apples out there. SE needs to trust the player base to police the groups fairly rather than abuse it more often than not. A vote to kick option is needed badly.

30 mins AFK is too long for a dungeon. There should be a separate timer for that. Everyone entering a dungeon party should be prepared to pay attention to the game for 90 full minutes if necessary. Someone may need to go AFK for a couple minutes (bathroom, etc...) But any longer than 10 minutes is too long.

Whoa you posted an actual problem! I gave it a like but its going to be flooded to the 3rd page by everyone complaining that they cant speed run any more. You wanna post this in the dungeon forum too? may have a better chance of being seen there before its wiped into history by the community.

Had a lancer named Joe Momma sit at the entrance of satasha and he just lotted on all the items as me, conj and the tank tried to finish the dungeon. We thought he was just afk until he got a chest item.

Yeah if they don't have a kick feature they need something that combats this. i.e. it should kick a player if they go longer than 5 minutes without healing, buffing, or attacking. (not counting time spent in cutscenes).

Should only apply to duty finder groups as well, and not pre-made groups.

Does /pcmd kick "Player Name" not actually work in PUG duty?

See, this is why I AM NOT AGAINST naming players who act like douches on forums. I figure if they are going to come in, lazy it up and let others do the work, they should get their name smeared all over public forums/game so others know not to group with them. I understand the DF does not show who you are grouping with until in the dungeon, but if you do a few pulls and notice them not helping, pretty fair to say they are afk'd. Furthermore, if it is a dps'er like a BLM, you can just take your other 3 party members and re-queue to get a non-afking dps.

I don't like the kick idea... Atleast it should be disabled for story dungeons because nobody should be kicked just for wanting to see cutscenes.

AFK timer won't be able to do anything, they just have to buff themselves, or move around occasionally, since they still have to check loots & pt status. Only a vote kick can do the job.

And a DF blacklist as well... One of my friend got into a situation where 6 members of the full pt were from the same FC, & they decided to go afk chatting until 1 of the other 2 left the instance. Or another situation where 1 tank went afk in ifrit HM & when ppl left, he queued into the same room as them again, & not twice but 4-5 times...

My friend got so raged he nearly quit the game until our FC decided to go with a half-premade group lol

i play on JP server i dont tink i have ever seen such behavior but i see bad tanks but never bad players who dont do anything.

also one of the problems with kick(i am not against it) it could be miss used from premades who just kick if they see people they dont like. but thats something you will always have.
should almost be a report button to report party for miss kick if they have a vote kick(the vote kick needs to have details of the "voted kicked" person, what he get kicked for)

This kind of thing should be sorted out by the community.
If people behave badly then it should be spread around with proof if available. Yes i know this can be abused. People usually give each other a chance. If you party with somebody you know has a bad rep then you know what to expect. If they behave well,then you shout their praises.
This is the way to prevent things. People will always find a way to abuse something.
If kicking was added people would abuse it.

Community is the only way people!

Meh, if you've ran the dungeon more than once then there's no reason to see it again. I, personally, just grab a drink if other people are still watching the cutscene.

II prefer to get as many for the linkshell as possible or help them catch up on runs. People afkign like that should allow a 3 person vote to replace for AFk. at that point the person would have to confirm activity.

It's not different, it's just at a far less ratio. People are the same throughout the world, we just breed more of them in the Western world. That's sort of the byproduct of perspectives and philosophies that try to promote the individual for self-sustaining importance (for better or worse).

Kudos to these guys. Abuse like this will only cause fixes to come faster. Unfortunately the fix is a vote kick that will be abused more than this.

jupp never had problems with JP only people from EU/America. but then again have been lucky.
since i started ARR i have had like 4 Gil spammers in my Chat window.
just tink of how luck i am that is not spammed down even when i enter Citys.

you will always have bad people but you can make sure its less.
kick/ban/Time Ban/ignore is the most usefull tools you got.

another feature is that i dont want to party NEVER with a person that is in my blacklist , i guess that isnt implemented but if i have some1 blacklisted is for a reason

I agree the AFK 10-20 min auto kick with no movement or communications. (cause you aint finishing a dungeon that quick) The kick feature not gonna work it was made this way for a reason imo... weather it was to curve kicking of a player not being able to do it as good as the rest or, you and the rest VOTE well not gonna work cause you can just kick with majority = meanness, or if it you and 7 of you FC talking on TS or Skype or whatever and you team up and kick the person. I dont think that is what the Yoshimister wanted to happen hence as for now the only option you have is to leave and yes it does suck cause you gotta wait 30min to run your fav AK dungeon or any other for that matter.

I mean think about it dont you think it would have been implemented from the get go if they wanted it that way.

I'm on NA Legacy server and I've yet to run into this.

Anyway, the solution here is "vote-kick" if the player has not engaged in the combat before reaching a treasure chest.

Also related problem: Partially formed parties where the other person appears to be playing 2 or more characters. I've only seen this once, and I suspected as such as it was both the healer and the tank, with the same surnames and the healer was only casting party heal. This isn't too terrible except that someone could do this to prevent an auto-kick vote and get twice as many chances for loot.

If theres a kick then wouldn't people that use df for an instance they've never done before not say it was thier first time for fear of getting kicked? Then maybe you'll end up with constant wipes and confusion because no one wants to let on they don't know the dungeon or get booted. idk, just my 2 gil and one third of my posting powah...

Here's a solution -

/AFKVOTEKICK <player name>


Causes a vote box to pop up in front of each of the members of the party *except* for the player being voted on. If the entire party votes "Yes", then a box pops up in front of the AFK player that says, "Your party thinks you are AFK. Please respond or you will be booted from the party." You then have 15 seconds to click the box marked "I'm not AFK", or you get removed from the instance.

Can it be gamed? Yes. There are players who will sit and stare at the screen even though they're not actually doing anything. But it will at least force them to keep an eye on the screen, at which point they might as well be playing.

I did my ending story dungeon with a bunch of elitists. They keep asking me to skip the story which I did not and keep taunting me. They did all the boss fights without waiting. If kick feature is implemented it will be abused by 7 idiots who would vote kick ppl who stop them from rushing their dungeon.

And if it's not, you'll end up with situations like my group is in right now, with a White Mage AFK at the entrance for the first two bosses. He shows up after that, but behaves like a bot. He has thus far not said a word to any of us, and does nothing but spam Medica II and Regen. He's proceeded to pull every subsequent boss before everyone could get in. Currently half the party is sitting outside waiting because he locked us out (because we were watching cutscenes).
