Please allow us to Delevery Box our Alts

The name says everything. I love that there is a delivery box now but it would be nice if I could friends list myself or have the option to delivery box to myself. Not trying to play the "Let's make FFXI-2" game, but I think the system they have in place there where you can mule even uniquie/untradeable items to your own account would be absolutely lovely.

On a side note, I had no idea cracked Materia would become unique and untradeable and am now feeling it as all the materia I saved and stored for melding has been locked to a Alt with no job or grand company. Please Square, make this a option sometime in the near future? :)

(I would also really REALLY like to see my belts again, maybe with the turn on and off function would be lovely, thanks so much!)

The only way to make fast gil is to create new characters get like 10k on it then delete and repeat

It's already easy for RMT to do that. The only people who suffer are legitimate players.

As I mentioned in one of the gil generation threads, if the only real way for gil to be generated(not earned) into the economy remains the main story, then the restriction actually greatly helps RMT. As is, it's impractical for legit players to generate(not earn) gil into the economy because the only real way is through quests. Very few people are going to constantly repeat the same quests bi-weekly or even more often so they can counter repair costs. But even if someone did, there's no way for them to send it to themselves. Whereas RMT will repeat the same quests, and they will be able to send it to themselves due to having an infinite number of accounts. So the best way for gil to be generated(again, not earned) will basically be controlled by RMT...

This and the gil generation issue are very serious issues that hopefully will be addressed soon...

I agree it is a bigger problem for the players, especially since we don't have to pay per alt anymore to no be able to trade freely around your characters. SE gave us a lovely present with the armory to help with inventory but mats and things do end up taking a fair bit of room. The alts I have in question have so much of my stuff from 1.0 and though I am lucky enough to have a account for my husband it gets very slow trading 4 things at a time, and only people with 2 accounts or a -really- nice friend who isn't doing anything the next hour can help remedy the solution(assuming your friend has the inventory to take your things).

Im sure SE has already thought about this(hopes!) and have just deemed it okay to wait for a patch, I just hope it becomes implemented sooner rather then later. :)

Surely anyone could see right through that, right? Nothing they do short of banning the accounts will hinder the RMT's.

The point of this system is to deter you from making alts and the play the game as Yoshi originally designed: 1 character for everything.

RMT are smarter then any game company, err sorry but they are , and they will always be there in mass as much as se tries not to have them there or as much as we all dont want them in game.

Mail should be unrestricted to alts , in fact you shouldnt need to add to fl in the first place, to send to anyone tbh.

My own characters cant even benefit from my main? lol thats a disgusting decision.
They have done some great things in arr, they honestly have , but this mail restriction is absurd.

That or add an account wide retainer..no silly quests to obtain, just add one, something needs to be changed.:p

This is silly. Every MMO I've ever played allowed mailing items and money and various messages to alts. It's at worst a solution looking for a problem and at best an overzealous attempt at curbing RMT that hurts far more than it helps.

If SE really wanted to punch RMT in the nads, they'd implement a subscription-token system like EVE or TERA or WildStar.

All we need is the ability to send friend requests to offline players, including our own alts. Since you must knowingly accept a friend request, I don't see the harm in this.

I would like to mail items/gil to my alts.

I have a way around this for you guys.

Make your own Free Company, and ally it to your main company.

My husband and I have our own Free Company, along with my 3 alts. Granted, we did this because we've always wanted shared housing/storage in our MMO and this was a way for us to get it. But, I've found that it's a great work-around for not being able to mail to your alts.

Whatever I don't want to keep on hand (lately it's alchemy mats) I pop into the company chest. I log out, log in to one of my alts, and grab the stuff from the chest. Voila! I'm done.

Possible drawbacks: It will take you much longer to get your Free Company to level 5 and you might lose out on some of the bonuses your current FC provides.
Also, we haven't yet allied our company to another, so we don't know exactly how that works.

But, depending on how dire your need for storage is, this might be something to look at!

FFXI they screwed up the economy with RMT.
In FFXIV they try to combat RMT, but they screw the economy with game design.

This is one of my biggest complaints about XIV. Why am I being punished for having alts when I pay extra money each month for those alts?

i wonderwing and i never get the gist of Alt, when i have everything i need already with my 1 character... 1item per week? np why? because more content around the same ilvl WILL COME OUT. soon you willl just drop allyour alts and just play Main character very soon, i guessing patch 2.4+

Well in this case it would be nice if they retained that mentality in the endgame by making raid lockouts class based instead of character based. Makes it impossible to provide multiple roles to a FC or assist secondary runs for lower ranking members in lockout raids. Thus alts become necessary to provide those or similar services.

If Square wants a "one character to rule them all" setup that's great. But take it all the way. Even a restricted "3 classes per character" or similar lockout could correct this problem.

And of course any RMT operation worth their salt will just laugh and funnel their resources through multiple accounts. The extra 15$ means nothing to them, assuming they aren't skipping over that too with hacking/keylogging.

I am literally out of things to do on my main. I have all classes at 50, every single quest done (other than one of the beastmen factions for dailies, which is 10 days away from completion). I clear the entire week's worth of lockout content (Coil 1-5, EX primals, CT) within a single day. My alt is already almost as geared as my main on the jobs I use for him. Literally all I do the rest of the week is milk the daily gil and try to to Coil on my alt.

You want benefits of having multiple characters? Daily quest gil rewards, doubled. Roulette rewards each day, doubled. Treasure maps/day, doubled. Gearing multiple jobs vertically. More retainers to sell more items. And those are only the functional reasons.

There is no reason you shouldn't be able to mail to your alt. Hell, some people can because of a design oversight before 2.1 where you could add your alt to your friend list if they were in an instance. Which has since been fixed. It's actually kind of frustrating because mailing large sums of gil/items between main and alt WOULDN'T be suspicious because it's the same SE account. Changing hands from you to a friend to alt? Could be seen as suspicious.

You know what SE would do if they allowed that, they would remove all bags of gold from every quest or just put tin bags.

You think SE cares they removed gil from bronze beetles and next will be that, just like FFXI they want to make it extremely hard for you to make gil.

Don't expect much and if they don't do that they probably lock sending gil to yourself.

There is actually a way to send mails to your alts without the need of any friend's help or a FC at all and yes that means you can befriend your own alts with your main character, being a solo player with no FC led me to figure this trick out. I've kept it to myself for a while in fear that perhaps RMT would abuse it and only shared it with 2 of my friends, but seeing as how I went back to FFXI, maybe I can share this trick with some people if it doesn't get flooded all over the place... (Of course, like that won't happen if I share this info)

How Yoshi Designed it? The same system 1 character can do everything was used in FFXI too

Which makes sense until you realize lockouts make gear progression so slow your better off just making alts anyways defeating the purpose of the system.

Curious how you consider this cheating. It's a significant time investment to do quests/leveling/gearing from the ground up on another character. Whether you pay Legacy service fee or Standard, it's also representative of real money investment (either from supporting 1.0, or paying more than Entry fee). Again, how is it cheating if you are spending more time and money than the average player and thus getting more out of it?

The method I've heard of has been patched since before 2.1, unless you have some other method nobody is talking about.

If developer want player for play multiple character then they would allow for multiple character alt to be accept of mail. 8 character upgrade of account are meant for family play, not for cheater to make inappropriate advantage and exploit of game.

Doing quests and gaining more gil via DF/Roulette and quests on a alt is in no way cheating. The game was designed to allow us to have 8 characters on every single server. I myself maxed out most of my jobs before ARR even came out. Playing on a alt isn't cheating in any sense of the word. All this means is people with more time on their hands and dedication to making money make more, which is how the world and mmo's work dear. Though yes for someone who can't play as much this may seem unfair it would equally be unfair to the person with a lot more game time to not be able to progress above the person playing for a few hours. On a side note this thread is for talking about how its unfair we cant delivery box the other 7 characters allowed by SE on our own server. SE designed the game this way and even on FFXI I can not only delivery box my alts I can have a lot more then 8 and can even trade then unique/rare items to boot because if you gather for yourself and to craft for the different crafts for yourself you tend to run out of inventory very very fast. Perhaps that Vanya set you paid ridiculous money for and is useless since the coil gods blessed you would be a lot more appreciated and used better by trading to your alt character rather then making 5,000 gil on a mind IV materia. Even if SE doesn't want to allow us to trade rare/unique items to our own account characters I would be happy even being able to toss all those crafting mats to my alt i prefer to craft on because my mains inventory just can't handle picking up a craft right now. (Though it could if I could delivery box some of this binded gear I would like to keep!)

the problem with all the unique/untradable gear is that we can't put any of it in the armoire which sucks, SE needs to either allow mailing unique/untradeable to other characters on your account or make it to where the armoire can hold all unique/untradeable gear

I have alts because I like the idea of having different races to better represent different classes/jobs. I should be able to easily transfer gil to my alt as I see fit. I fully support the OP.

Yeah, I don't like the idea of dumping my pre-relic(?) gear I got part of at lvl 45 and the rest at lvl 50 for each class. But I can't put it in the armoire, so I either have to waste precious retainer space or toss it. I guess I have no use for it anymore but it seems wrong. Guess I could turn it in for seals. The armoire is a joke. It's usefulness is so limited. Why even have it if its rarely even useful. And why does it reset spiritbond? You can't sell unique/untradeable items even if the spiritbonding is reset.

The amount of paranoid reasons to not do something in this game due to the rabid defense against RMT is getting beyond logical. Every MMO that I have played back to UO has had RMT, this is the first where something as simple (mailing to your own alts)and in every other game I have played is turned off.

About to unsub because I can't mail to alts. This is the single dumbest design decision in any mmorpg I've ever played. It matters ZERO that yes I could and have been doing everything on one character. It doesn't even require an explanation why people want to do this. Every single mmo I've played I've enjoyed having alts that support each other through crafting. It adds variety and allows you to get away for a while from the demands of a free company.

They are totally screwing the pooch with this idiotic restriction. And thus I'm gone. It's a shame, because it's an otherwise beautiful game. If you don't get it, you just don't get it.
