Was my money wasted?

So, right now I'm sitting on a code for this game as I rebought it back on early access so I could well, get early access.

I got the early access, but because I was a 1.0 player (not legacy) It seems I can't add the game code as I already have the game, so now I've only got 10 days left and I assume an extra copy of the game.

Is there any way for me to use that code to add the free 30 days?

you could give it to a friend. i did the same thing. now we play together(sometimes) on Goblin :)

I know there are LOTS of people looking to get a code. One of my friends included. maybe someone would buy it off you so you don't lose that money?

I believe as a 1.0 owner, you don't need to own the game again, just have to subscribe to continue after the free time. You can add a PS3 version to the same account, but not another PC version.

No. Returning players got a shorter free term than new players.

Im having the same issue, ive been trying to get in touch with SE for 2 days now.
@nev I appreciate your solution but I rebought the game for me not to have to resell it or give it away.

No where on the purchasing page on the SE store does it say in big red letters "FFXIV previous owners will not recieve 30 day game time upon purchase" if it did I wuld not have bought it.

The 30days trial is for new account holders only. Any 1.0 legacy or non will not receive it on their existing account. The only way to use that code to obtain the 30days would be, to make a new account. Sorry :/

Even if you did get the 30 days the purchase would be illogical. The game costs more than a 30 day subscription. Why would you do that? And why would they put big red letters on there anyway? They straight up told you you don't need to buy the game at all. I've never heard of an MMO where you could buy another copy of the game to get game time.

If you were a 1.0 player (account that had XIV already), you cannot get the 30 days free-trial If you bought a PC version of ARR. The only way you can get the 30 days free-trial (+2 weeks for being 1.0) is to have bought / buy the PS3 version of ARR. (the CE code & 30 days free-trial is bound to the Registration code)

Yep I've got the same problem, sitting on a CE that I can't enter the code on, well I'm not subbing to this game till they give me what I've paid for so once the free time runs out, guess I'm going back to some other mmo. Support have still not answered my ticket yet and I'm not giving this company another penny until they sort this.

They said multiple times before ARR started Phase 4 testing. That if you owned 1.0 Standard or 1.0 CE that you could not apply the ARR CE to your account. Your only option was to start a new account or to wait for the CE Digital upgrade, or buy the PS3 CE version. So blaming S-E is pointless as the fault lies with you.

Couldn't have got early access otherwise, and to be honest couldn't care less paid for it so if I don't get my items the game can swivel. Simple really, no skin off my nose, plenty of other mmos coming. This games good but not that good and it wouldn't take much for them to make it possible to add those codes and still doesn't change the fact there customer support is terrible.
