I agree with the op on this. I'd sooner leave a party that tries to skip all the mobs.
Make them drop Allagan currency on a fairly regular basis. Solves 2 problems at once since there's not enough gil coming into the economy and far too many huge gil sinks.
What do you think happens when you make it so that everyone can get very well geared just by running the same dungeon over and over?
Newbie: (Hello!)
Luda: We're gonna skip all the mobs, speed run!
Newbie: (I'm sorry) But this is my first time, can we do normal run?
Luda: Get out.
Newbie: :(
Duty Finder could do with some more matching options.

Summat like that
Why even kill the trash? You lose more durability by killing them than skipping and they offer absolutely nothing of value at 50. If they want to do something about it make them drop something valuable like tokens or gil but as it is right now there's no point in wasting time and money for no reason.
The dungeon has a 110 timer. I am assuming that the dungeon would take about 30 to 40 minutes if done legit and not skipping trash. I do agree that trash needs to drop Gil or maybe even small chance at dropping tomes. That's why something needs to be done. Pointless to kill trash so everyone is skipping it.
There is no reason to kill trash in there what so ever, the only reason that place is even there is for our af2 currency, if your worried about kills for your hunting log, make a group for that reason.
I lol'ed. I'll admit that I now belong to the speed runners. But I always ask the party if they prefer speed run or regular run. And I always pick the regular one if there's a new member in my party. Unfortunately this leads to other people leaving the party and me following soon after.
If you want to kill trash, go out in the wild and farm.
Problem solved.
Since the only thing people want from that dungeon (unless they are new lvl 50's, then they might want gear) is the tomestones.
And the fastest way to get the tomestones is by skipping all the trash and finish the dungeon in 15 minutes.
I don't see the problem, you don't gain anything by killing the trash.
As everyone else have said, if they want to make killing the trash worthwhile then make them drop something that we need.
The reverse can be said about wanting to do a Speed run, if you want to do a speed reason, make a group for that reason yourself and don't use duty finder. Anyways, I would agree that if nothing good comes out of killing trash, there is no point, but if ppl need hunting log or anything else relating and they used duty finder, yer in the wrong for not expecting this.
As a Tank, I refuse to do speed runs. They cost me in the range of 700-800 gil per death, with a minimum of 3 deaths a run. A normal run without wipes typically costs me 800-ish gil. I'm not paying for you, sorry.
What world do you live in? I speed run AK all the time and if you don't die more then the 3 times you need to then my repair bill is under 600g for the entire run.
@OP - For those of us pushing to get into end game quickly, speed runs are the only way to go. Killing trash means that it takes you more then double the amount of time to get the same amount of gear. Granted I won't use duty finder to do it unless we just have someone that dropped for a run to go get food etc. then maybe we would do a run with a pug. Normally I'll still try to pick up in FC or on the server instead of duty finder though. Speed runs don't really work when you get new people that don't know the instance. People tend to die to demon wall first time around
people wanting to speed run with a full DF group are out of their minds.
and gear repair goes by actions used, not deaths. you would have a higher repair bill if you ran the whole dungeon correctly.
It's good we can rush. Trash mob without interest, just loss of time.
Fates are basically speed runs to 50.
Honestly no.
Fighting trash mobs that offer no challenge whatsoever stops being fun after you do it the first few times. Having to do Amdapor at least 8 times a week alone would be unbearable if we had to kill the trash every time, trash isn't fun, ever.
Yeah, Yoshi said speed runs are abolished for the point of getting gear only for players to bring them back which is creeping into the other dungeons as well.
This is further proof this community needs to not state: "I want x" or "X should happen" because people always turn around and contradict the change/addition lol.
This is ignoring the fact the people entering the keep the first time which btw isn't purely for relic reborn quest wouldn't have been "tired" of fighting the trash mobs there.
No Duty Finder for Speed Runs.
It's that simple, get your Free Company or gather friends or acquaintances from your server.
It's just cheating others who would want to queue a dungeon to DO a dungeon.
I'm in the firm believer of, "You came in as a party, you die as a party.". That would end this issue real quick. Or like someone that posted that idea earlier about the amounts won at the end. If you bypass mobs you get a few. If you do a reasonable amount of trash kills you get the normal amount. Can go one further and clear whole dungeon there's a bonus of more tomes.
It's definitely not a good idea to leave it how it is, and will likely have unintended consequences on the games economy/progression speed.
People get gear faster -> People eat content faster -> People leave because SE can't keep up with the consumption.
Normally this only affects the hardcore crowd, but if anyone can do it easily the problem will be far more widespread.

The thing that pisses me off about doing Amdapor Keep is that everyone in the DF expects you to do and know the speed run which is bull. How are new players to it supposed to learn the dungeon if its always speed run this speed run that and no explanation on what to do. DF needs some more options to avoid this type of crap.
