Egg caps (rank 15, 20,30 and 40)

So according to YG there are 5 versions of the hat.

Anyone got a clue how to get them/upgrade them ?

i heard. after you finish you quest you can go to other town and get the quest done

Yea just got to Limsa and the NPC is wearing the rank 40 cap, she won't give me an egg tho :S

Wait a while.

People have done all 3 and after you do the quest for a city the ! remains over the NPC but they talk to you as if you still have the quest.

All 3 cities give you the same cap.

The most logical theory at this point that's going around is that the cap that is available will change every few days or the next tier of the quest will unlock after a few days.

hm.... maybe u r right.

I guess it's probably timed somehow so the other caps become available later on or something. Wish we had a bit more information on this, but I am happy with the cap I have now. :)

Community Reps / mods should look into this.
im suspecting the even is broken / bugged.
I've completed all 3 cities & i havent recieved any other "Main" egg than the uncolored one.

My question would be, how or when do we the multicolored (main) egg?
I mean is it even possible?

It's useless trying to equip Egg-cap and try get a new one, u get same damn Cap.

And...i'd also like to know the official word on when you can obtain a new egg.
The amount of time i have to wait to get a new one.
Info on lodestone dosent mention any of that.

It would be nice to know if the other egg caps are available in this event or if they are just there for next year's event or something. :)
And if they are available this time around, a little hint as to how to obtain them would be amazing. ^_^

Any new information on the higher level egg caps? :) I know someone out there must have one already!

What I'm most frustrated with is the fact I Was able to start the quest but have yet to get the unique untradeable uncolored egg. I have loads of the other eggs.

Plus you get a new one every 12hrs (when you ask).

If you have tons of the others then /shout and trade them with people. I was able to get all 3 quests done fairly quickly doing this.

Not sure, I don't take part in seasonal events much as I'm not really interested in them, but I've grabbed a couple eggs running by the NPC and the second one I was given was the "Unique" Archon Egg, not the elemental ones. Ever since it's been earth or water. But my Unique Archon Egg does not state that it is "Untradeable" as well, so am I able to trade/sell this to people? Cause if it's as hard to get as some of you say, I can add even more useless gil to my pile.

This event is pretty frustrating in general. The hats are fun, but getting them isnt fun at all. Im just clicking an NPC every 12 hours and hoping for the best.
A few of the people in my ls seem to be bugged too.

Maybe 1.17a will finish it.

Maybe we have the next 4 easter events pre-loaded in the system....

This quest isn't frustrating one bit, all you have to do is log in every ~8 hours and click the NPC and you get a new egg...its a bell event disguised as an NPC with some floating eggs around it, nothing to it. Just don't be impatient. As for the other hats, I also have no clue to get them.

It would be nice to just have some information. SE just seems to struggle to communicate with the community. Even with a forum.

Heh heh, yep.

I guess they didn't realize that most people were rolling their eyes not at the fact that the events were bells all the time, but rather because it was always a brainless "check NPC every 8 hours for random item" thing.

I have the same feeling, the cap "grows" every year....
then the cap would be an easy indicator to show how long you have been in game...

My theory at this point...

Event duration: Thursday, April 15 (1:00 a.m.) to Monday, May 9 (7:00 a.m.)

The event spans four weekends, there are a total of four caps available.

Obtainable cap switches every weekend.

Could be totally wrong though...

How did people finish all three city quests? I did Ul'dah first then went to Limsa to get that quest, it said I would get the Pristine Hat (which I had from Ul'dah) if I gathered the four eggs. But when I gathered the four eggs again and I tried to turn them in to complete the Limsa quest the child told me I was greedy and couldn't get another hat and the quest remained unfinished.

I want the Midnight hat... and this event is confusing me so much right now. Is it just bugged or is it something else. >.<

Simple :D give your cap to a retainer and the NPC will give you another :D

I'm pretty sure the event was designed to have you interact with the community by trading eggs but there is the fall back option of just talking to the npc every 12 hours for the unsociable/time available folks. Either way it is just a holiday event, no reason for it to be epic or something.

I'm thinking maybe the Pristine Egg hat is like the red Usagi Kabuto that is used to create the white and black Kabutos. Maybe?

Aside from the Chocobo Egg Cap all the other Egg Caps have a specific Archon Egg associated with it.

been getting white egg hats.. sick of it

Has anyone tried dying the normal archon egg to try to get either the painted, darkened, or colored archon egg? Fits the Easter theme.

I don't think anyone can get the other archon eggs yet. I've only heard of anyone getting the 4 (earth, water, lightning, plain archon).

Ya, I was wondering if maybe you can actually use alchemy or something to dye the plain archon egg into the ones we can't get. Maybe thats why no one has seen em yet is because they havent found the recipes to synth them into the other eggs.

I guess this thing sums up the whole SE's behaviour.

Really, you're not even supposed to know about the other caps. We mined the .dats, SE has no obligation to tell us anything regarding those.

There's multiple new classes and even rank mission data in the .dats, should SE tell us what's that about? I don't think they do.

Guys I guess you forgot the meaning of "communication"
We've got a forum, with moderators in touch with the devs.
Obviousely we've got questions, obviousely a lot of them are crap so the moderators can't answer to everyone...
But a post like this, on a seasonal event, where we found some dats and we are wandering how to get those items fot one week, making speculations, trying different things in game, now even talking about trying to craft them, someone should give us a sign of life, even telling us "guys don't worry, you're not supposed to get them now but you'll know when the time comes" or even "you can't get them in this event, they're made for another event".
Otherwise what's the point of having a forum? to let us fight with each other??

Or we could think for ourselves for once. I know, it's a really crazy idea but I think it might work.

As Betelgeuzah said, we're not technically even supposed to know they exist. It's part of the event, it will come eventually. Just be patient, it's just an egg hat.

But it's impossible to know that they can be worn by PC's.

Maybe the patch on the 25th will change the event.

At least in Uldah, when you take the quest, the helper NPC flat out says something to the effect of "You'll get a hat just like hers." It doesn't straight out say it, but considering the pristine cap isnt on anyone, I was oddly led to expect one just like hers...
