Current drop rate and spawn time is fine, just make them harder so that everytime you fight a NM you don't know for sure you're gonna kill him.
24 hour repop wouldn't be so bad, it'd be the long window spawn times that would suck man. Kings weren't too too bad but I wouldn't be down to do anything like Tiamat/Khimaira/Cerberus respawn times again.
Plus with the 8 man party system the linkshell with the most people can just send out a shit ton of 8 man parties to monopolize everything.

Oh yeah dude I can agree with you there with Tiamat. That is a little crazy to have to send mules out there to watch for pop for days but... You got to have some kind of crazy stuff with 1% drop rates.
What does doing fine mean? Making money? I don't know if you noticed but just because something can make money off 14 year olds who can only play for 5 hours on weekends or after they finish their homework doesn't mean it's a good game.

Trying to kill a NM and get wiped, trying different tactics, doing it many times even wiping multiple times without having any drop is fun, to not have the chance to even try to hit the NM is not fun at all.
yea thats the only problem i'd have with 24 hour respawns would be if they had stupid ass windows like they did in FFXI, that and it'd cause ff14 to encourage the same botting problems ff11 did.Quote:

HNMs had their place. Times have moved forward. Now we need accessible challenging content that is within reach of players who have jobs and work for a living. I'm not saying make it easy because that is the last thing I want, but I am saying make it so that most players can actually reach this content.
visch ffxiv is a casual mmo it was advetized as one way before the release. And events that only a select few can join in on is not a good game. Even more so are those who sub count is low... ffxi wasn't that popular. And con of that is 6 hour waits on parties just because of needing certain jobs.
Agreed, dude. I can't wait for 8 man parties, separate us from the rest of the server. I been dying for this day.
Also... Yes please 24hr NMs with like a 1hr window. 3hr window was a little much.
As far as LSs having multi groups, who cares? They still have to win claim over another LS that's standing there, so meh. And odds are that if they wiped the first time, they'll wipe again. When the time comes, those with legit skills will always be on top.
We shouldn't need a 24 hr pop rate to make gear hard to get. Make an NM harder to beat, not more rare. All a 24 hour window is going to do is create a laggy mess for the tons of people who are going to show up and try to get claim. Foolish imo.
i didn't say hard.... it was time consuming and irritating. And not everyone did the 99 ksnm and I never had 99 ksnm. Only a select few can really hunt those things due to the spawn time I can't stay up all hours to get gear. Nor should anyway need to. I made the mistake of staying away 24 hours to get molbur w/e for the vine for brown belt item. It finally pop@ 6am the next morning and someine took it. I then had to wake up again at that time to get it. And i had work eariler that day. Ended up sick again.
Sorry never asked or said game should be easy. Only less time consuming in the events.
Yeah, let's have 24 hour pops. Also, let's have each NM drop 3 or 4 pieces required for a single synth, each one with 1% drop rate, because this is what being hardcore means: having to be online at all times to be sure your LS will get the claim before some other kills the NM, probably use bots to "compete" with other LSs like it was on most cases in XI as far as I've heard (I will admit to not have played the game, but I know people who played / play and can confirm this) and completely exclude anyone who's not able to log in at god knows what time it will spawn.
Seriously now. No. Just no. It is a bad idea, at least at this point in time. First off, most current NM stuff are only 'common' because we literally had five nms for MONTHS. THAT'S MONTHS worth of several LSs killing the EXACT SAME NMs for the EXACT SAME loot. I'd be surprised if a Silver Tricorne was still 'rare' at this point.
Second, there are better ways to keep stuff rare other than this. HQ synths are a way (black pearl, I'm looking at ya). Very hard NMs are a second way. Limiting what few content we have is not a feasible way, not at this point. I'd rather have several NMs with similar spawn rates as the current ones than some LOL 24 hour POP NM that will only serve to limit our options at this point, just so I can e-peen my 'rare' stuff. In the future, when there are actually more stuff to do and see, sure, go ahead and put some retarded spawn conditions and times for those who want to have fun waiting hours for a pop and will be able to show off their results to everyone, but definitely not now.

Who honestly thinks someone playing 10 hours a week should be at the same level as someone playing almost everyday all day? It takes the fun away of even playing.
Putting time in to getting something is effort. Commitment. Effort is not hitting X or 1 500 times with your eyes going in different directions.
As long as we have a mix of both i'm ok with at least some of the NM's being HNM's and being on a longer respawn. Either that or require a pop condition that can't be triggered again by the same person for an extended amount of time (i'm thinking a week).
Or they could make a status timer where everyone that fought the mob (and won) are unable to claim it again until it wears off (with a day or two cooldown). Give more people the actual chance to fight it, and hopefully avoid things like claim bots or hours of waiting around trying to catch a pop time. However they do it, the encounter itself should be harder than catching the claim :D.
Meh, If they wanna do something like that, make it spawn once during the window rather than constantly. 24 hour respawns are no good for the same reason we have 36hr guildleve resets instead of 24 or 48hr. If something only pops once every 24 hours, most of the world will never have a chance to see it except maybe on weekends.
The seriousness of this thread makes me laugh. Come on, these Nm's will be easy to kill soon enough when rank cap is raised. I think a fast respawn rate should be implemented as these nm's will be for average players soon enough. Save harder NM's and longer respawn times for later when it will be worth it to kill them. Remember the pain of getting the best gear in 11 only to have the level cap raised and it be worth so much less or better armor is available. I'm no genious but I'm pretty sure we're gonna see a rank change soon and not 2 years from now. Really intensity now is so lmao save it for later.

even FFXI will no longer have 24 hour NM's soon. Its in their Roadmap that they are adjusting Repop times for all nm's.

It's one thing if the monster can't really be camped because it's just so difficult, but that's almost never the case.
XIV's system works wonderfully, but I wouldn't mind more NMs that were forced poped (like the faction leve NMs)
if you want to have super rare items, make the NM pop every week once at a random time and a completely random location somewhere on the worldmap. This way people not gonna camp it.
camping 24h pops is not a challenge and has nothing to do with skill and it certainly does not make you a hardcore gamer. It only indicates that you are maybe jobless, have to less RL or are maybe spending a bit too much time at your PC.
21+ hour spawns? Yeah screw that, I'll never try to kid myself into that crap again.
