Why, we know they are working on it. People today are little children. I am not defending SE, but man, this generation is full of whiners and handholders.
Yes I am old, pay no attention to this post (personal sh*t)
I would agree. Can anyone from SE just let us know what is up? My duty finder was working until I tried the Into the Inferno instance and ever since then its been busted.
We know this wont be an instant fix. No one is expecting it to be cured in an instant but could we get more info on what is wrong or what plans is going to happen to fix it? Please and Thank You :)
Edit: I just saw the post above me and this is exactly what I hoped for. Thanks for the link :)
Seriously, they have been addressing this all day... on the game's start screen, on twitter, on the forum site and even posted the message in-game...
People, these are the growing pains of development and, all things considered, I im confident in this development team. Actions speak louder than word and their priorities are reflecting just that (I see). Let the evolution evolve. They have been asking for your understanding and patience... Now the players are too.
seriously wish I had just stayed on the JP data cluster and learn to speak japanese :p
Is this your first mmo? No it wont. If they told them that a particular model number of server was messing up and they were bringing in a different one people would then switch their complaints to why did SE use it in the first place and why didn't they have a 5th, 6th or 7th backup waiting in the wings. Or why arn't they throwing 50 extra network people at the problem because everyone knows more is better.
Unfortunately no answer will make people happy.
I don't understand why you people insist updates on the issues every 15 minutes, is having someone tell you 'it's still broken we are still working on it' really going to make much of a difference, of course you know it is still broken, obviously they haven't posted anything about the issue, there fore you already know it is still broken why do you need SE to reiterate that it is still broken. Just wait until they tell you it's fixed or they schedule another maintanence.
As frustrating as it is to see the same problems reoccurring I have no complaints as to the amount and timeliness of the information we are receiving. It far better then how they communicated in Phase 4. BTW Twitter appears to be the best place to find links to the latest updates.
Which 15 minutes?
The 12x15 minutes of the 1st fix? (3hr) which worked until the first person logged in!
The 10x15 minutes of the 2nd fix (2.5hr) with steps being taken to stop it happening again) which worked until the first person logged in!
or maybe the countless 15 mins inbetween?
Im all for patience, MMO's dont launch without glitches but please stop blindly defending Square..Its not why are people asking for updates, but why are Square not giving updates!
Square are offering a product (FF14) and a service (X Dollars/Euros/Yen a month for uninterupted gameplay) and theyre currently not delivering.
Also I believe if these were problems on the Japanese servers Yoshi-San would be giving constant updates, not because I think Square treat Japanese better but more that the Japanese wouldnt put up with broken promises and a failure to fix a game over 18 hours and 2 repairs (inb4 anyone comments DF hasnt worked since server up, it was slugish and not updating..but at least it did work b4 the 1st fix).
Okay, with this one, I have to respond. In no way, shape, or form did Square ever guarantee uninterrupted gameplay. That is just not a promise any MMO would ever make. Not saying that this issue is acceptable, but I do want to make sure that we have our facts straight.
This is true and I agree its impossible..but with the word limit in a post.. words and sentances have to be changed to get the point across...think with the least disruption possible.
I want this game to sell well...but at this moment there are people who are going to review it playing and they can do...well...fates....not too mention square have made 2 fixes neither of which worked and this is unlikely to look good in a review!
I bring that up in countless threads for many games I play. What would make it sad is if some of these whiners etc are grown adults. This is a new game and first day of early access. Yes, beta/open beta were running smoothly but what do you expect? It's not like just the testers were going to play the game. Many people probably were not going to play till early access or launch day. There were tons of pre-orders, so of course the servers were going to be overwhelmed. But this generation of gamers demand and have no idea what it takes to code a game, let alone a massive world.
And I'll just say this now. Launch day is the 27th and servers might get congested yet again due to influx of even more players. Be prepared for even more crying, demanding and whining......
Before I go to sleep, you might want to look on twitter for @FFXIV_NEWS_EN
They are updating very well, I love it, thanks support team! ñ.ñ
A child? LOL. Im probably way older than you and going by you're reply, you must be one of the whiners :p . ok ok I lied. my game ran pretty smooth EXCEPT that ONE time with the 3102 error. after that ONE time, I was good for the rest of the open beta. same goes for various people in my LS :)
We all know they are working to fix the problem right now, so stop crying and demanding stuff. If they were not trying to fix the problem thats a different story. so relax kid.
They have to go through a lot of legal BS when it comes to addressing bugs to the public. It might be a while before we hear any words beyond "We know there is a problem" if ever, at all.
You say they don't give updates, yet their twitter feed has a new post every 1-3 hours, the twitter is chalked full of updates to to the current issues, so I really don't understand where this 'square is not giving updates' business is coming from, and I can clearly see those twitter updates, it's not blind defense, the information is there people just aren't looking.
