if you watch the crystals call video, at the beginning there is just the crystal, then they show the ffgames which fly into the crystal. at the end of the video, there is 13 smaller crystals floating around it. i wonder if this could be a hint that every FF world will tie into FFXIV. would be cool if we could visit parts of those worlds.

I don't mind fan service, but don't kill the lore of the game with it. Disguise them as easter eggs, or something, but don't bluntly put Sephiroth in the game like most people are asking them to do.

Yeah but you knew what you were getting with KH. With FFXIV a lot of people want to be immersed in that world. Recurring names like Cid, summons, Chocobos, etc are really enough fanservice IMHO.

A game made by Disney with Square Enix characters in it with different storylines than what they had. Simba and Bambi are summons. And you fight with giant sharp keys wielded as swords. The use Nael van Darnus was probably perfect. It was a huge reference while still advancing an entirely new plot. If they keep using this method, it keeps things fresh. In my opinion FF IX took a similar approach, and is one of my favourite titles of the entire series.
