Best way to make gil in this game?

I have played this game on and off since launch. Came back a couple months ago got all the jobs to 50. Now I see gear on the AH is prohibitively expensive. I made about 3 million gil leveling all my battle classes to 50 from leves and stuff. I see 3 million isn't enough to buy anything worthwhile.

I see materia that cost about 1-2m each for good ones. Gear that has materia going for over 20m or so.

My question is how exactly do you make any money in this game? I didn't play when leves gave out tons of gil so I don't really have much.

Spirit bind cheap rank 41+ gear.

A single 30k piece can turn into 1.5million gil if you have some luck. If you materia for several hours in a party you almost always leave with more gil then you put in.

What this person said, you can also sb while crafting and the most important pieces are belt/hands/head as those turn into savage might, heavens eye, touch of rage, and hells fist. Rings/neck/ear are okay since you can get str/int/hellsfist and such

Best way to make gil is to level all DoL/DoH to 50.

http://ffxiv.mozk-tabetai.com/ has a materia table that shows what all armor is converted into but heaven's eye comes from head, waist, PGL LNC and ARC arm.

What about fire pots?

Gathering and or crafting are probably the best ways to make steady money. You just have to take advantage of what the market lacks at the time.

Cause double meld/triple meld/quad meld Grade IV is not as easy as hunting Primal, due to luck component. Yes, Ifrit and Moogles are pretty much some of the easiest end-game currently. However I would advise you to save up on gil and don't overspend now, because v2.0 attributes will change once more so nobody know if double/triple/quad meld would still be as good as now.

If you want triple meld, be prepared to spend hundred of millions of gil. A single piece of triple meld STR IV gloves can already fetch somewhere 50m-ish, and STR IV is quite cheap.

yep indeed

Be smart and not lazy and you make gil in no time.

You can always do guildleves, if you have the alchemy and botany, you could also craft maddening potion, which sells well, and is almost always in demand.

wonder if there's optional way for doing it, especially for those who don't really like DoH / DoL? ;D

I try spirit bonding last night. I got a crit 4 materia that sold for 1.3m and some int 4 that sold for 300k. Everything else was junk / npc.

Made about 1.6m profit but I got lucky I would say. Seems like a bit of a gamble could of got 0 worthwhile materias. But I am happy I made some gil. Not sure if I should try it again or not.

That's pretty much what it amounts to, a gamble. I've seen people go through days of SB parties only to end up with a bag full of useless materia.

You could try and do DoL/DoH and just spiritbond while doing that while making money off gathering/crafting. Alot of stuff you can just craft and then sell for npc for profit.

sell yourself, all miqotes do that.

well farm black peral's from high level goblins and sell to npc they go for 1k or a bit over time consuming but u can make little over 100k per stack or just kill things and get an inventory full and npc it and craft npc it many ways to make gill

Even junk tier 3 materia can become money.

Double meld the tier 3s.
Sell tier 4s.

Repat this for a month, you will have so much money you can feed lalafell orphanage.

Getting really lucky or not by gambling with double and triple melds makes and breaks in game fortunes.

That is for you to research, if i tell in forum, everyone would do it and it will be worthless lol but people do buys double melded tier IIIs.

felt bracers for strength, -enmity use raptorskin satchel belt
just off the top of my head

oh also, spiritbond can potentially be good, best to do it while crafting at a higher level
some of the best items: dated linen shortgloves, dated tarred voyagers belt, linen deerstalker, dated electrum ring/earrings

Here are the best slots to SB,

Heads (gives Heaven's Eye)
Waist (gives everything good)
Hands (gives Savage Might and INT)

Rings (gives STR, Hell's Fist, Heaven's Fist)
Wristlet (gives Touch of Rage and HP+ materia goes for 150k these days)
Choker (gives INT most of the time)
Earring (gives PIE and DEX)

You can also do Legs but i personally don't do that slot often.

Weapons do gives good materias too but i tends to wear the best weapons to fasten SB process overall.
