I wanted to address a potential issue that I was thinking might arise from the auto-group feature thats coming in 2.0.
First off I really think its great that we can have cross world grouping for content (as far as I know only instanced..which is cool by me), but that got me thinking:
Theoretically lets say my 2 friends and I want to do a dungeon, say, Crystal Tower. However we don't have enough people to run it with just the 3 of us. By using the auto group feature can we fill the remaining spaces in our PT automatically? Or do we all have to flag individually to find groups and be thrown in random 8?
I ask this only because you can never be 100% when it comes to this kind of thing and SE. Is it possible to get an answer on this because I don't think it will be nearly as useful otherwise...

Most dun geon grouping mmo's allow you to get in a party with friends then mark your group for a dungeo which wll pop up saying it's available with which classes are filled.
Rift has this and it works extremly well. You mark classes/rolls you can fill. IT pops up with your grops and others matched to fill all rolls, you confirm and enter. -

IN THEORY content finder is a great way to get what you need done wothout waiting on people to log on. However i see it becoming another way to nubfish. Youre gonna be grouped with people more often than not who have no clue. I sicerely hope this doesnt happen because i want to use this feature.
This is Final Fantasy, not Call of Duty. It takes a little more skill and prep work to be a good player. Lets all x fingers it works out. -

Led to a TON of drama because of ninja looters, and people being kicked just prior to a boss that had a drop that was desired by the party leader. And with it being cross server, server reputation didn't matter.Quote:

Unfortunately, judging from my own experience and some of the threads of this forum, not having a cross server content finder has done nothing to avoid those situations. -

Content finder is exactly like a pick up group...a PUG that picks up automatically, but a pick up group none the less. So if you're the type of person who has no patience for new people, you should probably stick to your LS/FC

Im hoping theres a way to flag ppl from other servers you know are good. Or have a sort of friends list for content finder, akin to something like yahoo messenger.

I think they need to be real specific on this and ask the community what kind of features they want on an important function like this one. They haven't really shown us anything about it yet among other things so I'm hoping the beta phase is the part where we will be able to provide functionality feedback that can be implemented quickly before the release.

I don't think noobs will be a problem, more than the elitist that believe that anybody who joins their party should know exactly at what second each boss does what, some people will be new and will not know what X or Y boss does, so take 1-3 mins and explain at the start of the istance, really easy and saves a lot of problems :/Quote:

If you're aware of all the details yoshi mentioned at gamescom, like for instance the 30 hours to get lv15 and to learn the basics, one would think that is a fair amount of time to pass the beginners level, and for whatever reason if you see someone under-geared, you can just oust and replace.
