Forked Tower runs are impossible to get organized

Trying to do a forked tower run in an organized group is borderline impossible. Joining the same instance with 6 full 8 man parties is completely impossible. Me and a group i joined spent an hour and 30 minutes trying to get everyone into the same instance and ended up just having 4/6 groups do Forked tower while the rest got left behind cus we couldnt get together.
Why on gods green earth is there no party system for 48 people. Its probably the worst system i have ever experienced in any video game, i LOVE forked tower. But being completely unable to participate in the first place, is just so bad.

I was also in that run. It wasn't even the worst experience. Yesterday with the same group we managed to get all 6 parties in an instance and progged the first boss for the first time and got it to 10% enrage. We were all prepped and ready to go and get the kill but had to try to do the instance roullette all over again because the instance timer ran out. After 2 hours of trying to re-organize people just gave up and we were stuck with that 10% enrage.

I never see more than five people show up to the entrance

3 reasons :

- The whole 48 men from a 72 people instance fiasco
- it's still early, so many people still aren't lvl 20 (even if I see more and more of them)
- contrary to SE belief, most players are not interested in high difficulty raids, and word is spreading it is (even the japanese complain about the lack of a story version that's not as hard). An argument can be made it's gonna be easier with the right gear, but honestly, most people have no interest in farming that much for gear. Most of OC is aimed at small fraction of what Eureka and Bozja/Zadnor were.

Try again in a month or two, when the first players will begin to have optimized gear. You probably won't get place in those because you lack the gear, but that's another story.

Enrage? Is this like a BA Enrage or typical "Everyone gets OHKO'd Enrage?

Honestly, this would be very easily solved if you could just instance into South Horn as a 6-party Alliance like you can with DR...

They made the queuing system for this content as if it's for casuals that can just go in any time, but casuals can't do it, and hardcores can't organize using this dumb system. And I don't understand why they keep making content exclusive for ~1% of their player base with no midcore alternative. Oh and ABSOLUTELY DO NOT USE THIRD PARTY TOOLS but also this content is only clearable if you're in a discord.

They already have good systems in place, they already did this RIGHT, why do it like this NOW? The occult content is pretty decent, I don't understand how the devs ever thought this was a good idea.

Yes, everyone gets KO'd enrages. Not only that but the raid has res restriction and requires specific jobs at points in boss fights or during the exploration. This content difficulty seems to be made for pre-made organized groups but it actively punishes does groups from entering the tower to begin with.

SE has a weird mentality when they design something for the playerbase, and also how they still stubbornly refuse to even look at how the playerbase use a piece of content.

Forked Tower is a clear example of this. There's no way an instance of complete strangers would just go do the tower together, much less be able to successfully coordinate it ingame. BA has the same problem, but at least it's easier to get the 48 people into the same instance, even around launch it didn't take much to get the same instance for all parties.

I would really love to see SE employees actually complete the tower from a blind prog, only using ingame chat to coordinate it.

Its gonna be dead content in a week

Unfortunately it may be. A majority of players are only interested in the relics and won't come back after they complete the 1-time grind, since they can't use the zone to level up jobs and upgrading a set of gear to +1 costs so much.

This isnt about "being level 20" i have lobbies with 50 level 20s and nobody wants to do tower because its NOT clearable with randoms. This was proven in BA when EU had a 95% clearrate using organized groups and JP was sitting at like 10% because they stuck to the "we gotta do it with randoms" logic. I am also doing this like i said in an organized group. EVERYONE is maxed, has gear, and tries to get as much of an edge as we can.

Ye i mean this game has 99% giga casuals, that is the exact reason we gotta just be able to go in as a group so we can actually play the damn content.

I dont know why u think i dont have gear. I LITERALLY already have full +1 set and have 11 Phantom Jobs maxed out. I have cleared all ultis except TOP, and clear savages within 1-3 weeks depending on their difficulty. Its not MY skill issue/gear issue, i am prepared.

You know what could have been a great incentive? Allowing us to level our jobs through it. But nope, we have to wait for the deep dungeon and pray it isn't as awful as Eureka Orthos. Raha needs to clean up his own basement. Preferably with a nuke.

tbf i dont think it helps for the tower if people flood the instances when they just wanna lvl up. at some point the numbers of casual players will reduce drastically

No SE. Don't listen to any of these people. It's all the same people in EU and NA who ruined Chaotic by day 3 by killing the raid finder.
These are all the people who are the reason why Chaotic was a shadow of the success it was for JP.
If there is a problem with people not being able to get through the content quick enough then you either need to make the instance easier, or they need to adjust their expectations.
At the moment it sounds like you 'do' need to make it easier.

They are not so trying to get into the same instance because they want to be with their other 64 close friends.
They want everything tailored for the 'minority' who discord everything at direct expense of the majority who don't. And they know this. Ignore them (to put it diplomatically).
Or.. make an 'equal' instance, same rewards, for those that want to queue casually. Then those that want can take themselves off to premades, without hurting the critical mass of average player skill needed to clear.

You tune your fights to the average player skill. Then the top half of that player skill nbs off to premades.

Square you really need to just drop the old ff11 experience for these raids and just let these be queuable from outside the zone
Rather sit in queue for 30-45 minutes than waste my time to have nothing to show for it.

I don't mind that it's difficult, the problem is similar to the duels in bozja, you can almost never get in to practice and get better at it with prog, creating a frustrating experience

This. Its not meant do be cleared fully premade... its the same as complaining when the cutting edge world first statics do "tank only" or "no healer" runs... yes 0,0001% the players can do that, but thats nothing you should pay attention to...

I want some harder duties where i can just jump in and have fun, without being locked out from loot or limited by reset...

The irony of their drip feed content releases is the game is so starved for anything to do when they finally release something the last thing people want is to be told yet again "you have to wait until it gets easier." By that point, they've long given up on even bothering. Which then leads to the dev team getting frustrated despite it being entirely their own fault. Or at the very least, SE's fault.

Everything about Forked Tower outside the actual content itself is a disaster that just shouldn't be happening ten years into a game's lifespan. These are amateur level design mistakes.

It's simply not possible to do this content with a random group of 48. Forked Tower is not only harder than Chaotic, but doesn't benefit from having an entire datacenter worth of players even if they did queue via the raid finder ala how JP approached it. You're literally trapped by 72 player limit. So not only do you need 40 other likeminded players in the same as your party, they need to be of good enough skill to actually do the content which is at a Savage level.

This is not content you can "jump in and have fun" on a whim. Without a premade I can guarantee you right now you won't ever step past the first boss even months from now. Nobody is going to touch this without premade parties on NA and EU. Heck, even JP is complaining about it.

Yes 100% the reason I don't bother with savage.
It's not 99%. It's 100%.
I arse about with F all to do because all the opportunities to join people 'I know' in savage who can guide me a bit here and there and keep me company without it being 7 people carrying me which is just a painful cringe making waste of their time, and means I'm not sharing an experience at all, have passed 6-8 weeks ago.
I arse about with F all to do because I've cleared Ex but I'm damned if I'm going to pull the same Ex 300 times in a row for another 48/98 clears for a mount I can't get yet anyway.
Even then I arse about with F all to do 1 out of 2 nights because I can't even get into Ex with my 1 geared job. Oh and this delay to progressing ex is s big reason why I'm late to savage. 'avoidably late'. It should be a race to get into savage week 1 and 2 only. And there should be 'no' delay getting into Ex in 'any' job, at , all.
Then new content comes out... and it's the same all over again. The casual is non content, and can't get into Ex and I can't get into savage, and by the time I can, it's all over.
It's this, we wait for ages, finally get offered a nothing burger of casual, and blocked from the interesting content because we don't want to no life it. We just want to enjoy it.

Although, I am having enough fun in CE. I'm just pretending Forked, and the relics aren't a thing. I'm just here to do CEs till I get bored of getting better at them.

I have all 12 phantom jobs maxxed. I have full +1 gear on tank. I have 59 ciphers stored. I want to run tower for the +2 upgrades & mount, but seeing how the early runs have been going for people has NOT made me enthusiastic about it at all. I will probably go back to cosmic exploration to finish off my 500k on fisher and get mount before seeing if getting 48 people in has gotten any easier. It really makes little sense to me SE chose to do another convoluted system for this stuff. I guess updating their alliance \ queueing system to allow more than 3 PTs to enter together is too hard for their coders.

It's literally already in the game, DRS allows for alliances of 6 parties.

Honestly, they can keep all the stuff that comes with it being in an instance like the cipher entry system, the support fate, waiting for the weather, etc. Just let us queue into the zone with an alliance of all 48 people.

I sure hope rolling in and out of instances trying to get all your parties into the same zone isn't the fun 'old-school' FFXI gameplay they had in mind.

Meanwhile while people argue back and forth over difficulty vs casualness, I'm just there lamenting over actual fun and engagement...

seeing how many people die to field bosses or fates in OC all the time should make everyone realize that a pug of randoms will never ever clear this.

Clearing Chaotic was already harder than clearing the first savage bosses, and if it is indeed above chaotic, yeah.. no shot any random group will ever clear this before the servers shut down.

Not just that but you also need the right jobs as well. No Thief, no geo, no ranger, no berserk, no time mage and no clear without any of those jobs.

Edit: Also the fact that the second boss is very prone to snowball effects. If even just 1 person messes up in ice or fire, it's over for the whole raid.

Come on now. There are still a lot of new players in OC trying the content for the first time. Of course there are always going to be a few ending up dead. The first days players died like flies to the mechanics, people can't fortune tell lol. The majority can solve the mechanics at this point.
