is this game love giving F2P experience?

Hello all yes I will complain once more but well I just feel this game is a F2P experience that we pay for.


Play other game he say like sure but aren't I am paying to play a ff14 so why are we still getting a cap on savage gear? Even the 450 tome cap? I can understand they don't want player to be burn out but I think at this points it's kinda bad if gears would matter in PvP I would be like sure why not. But guess what! it isn't like they should allow people to roll once per fight on gear yes so everyone have something.


With cosmic it feel even worst most of the best reward are look behind the lottery that you need 1k lunar thing to even get one chance and every mission give 20/50 caps. if you think all this is fine they good for you but for me this is starting to no more be worth a sub because of how if feel.

Same. I've been on and off playing since ARR, and I'm baffled that the tomes are still limited to 450 each expansion, so I can only X number of things before it's capped and I stop logging in for dailies.

Also, farming 99x totems for mount trade-in to be unlocked 6+ months later, I feel like this is slowly telling me to stop farming them since it's way too low of a drop rate for new Extremes at the start, it feels useless apart from the weapon. I haven't considered old mount for this reason since that'd be thousands of totems when I'm unlucky, and I'm always unlucky for RNG.

So that people reclear the raids each week rather than farm them all in the first week. The actual intention of mechnisms like that I believe is so that people who start a bit late still see parties up, although they do anyway in practice because you still have prog parties 7 months later.

sooooo 90$ for the extension then a 20 per month sorry but I do think we don't have what we deserve as content with how much we pay

You're really kind saying it feels like a F2P experience. There are F2P around with way more contents and interesting rewards than what we're paying for with XIV.

It's worse than a F2P experience because we can't paypig to bypass those arbitrary caps. The system as it stands is designed to coerce players into maintaining their subscription and boosting engagement metrics to make the shareholders happy.

It's crazy, really. We pay a box price for each expansion and a monthly subscription for a live service game, in a traditional understanding you would think we are the customer and our needs and wants should be catered to create the value proposition. SE being a publicly traded company means we are also a product, and this materially changes the dynamic.

In the modern day where a small number of public companies have commercialised live service games and come to dominate and control the video game industry generally, we players are a commodity. We're a customer and a product. Unfortunately this balance is always going to be tilted because the law is an ass. Public companies have legal obligations to maximise returns for shareholders, and so live service gamers in Anno Domini 2000+25 are basically running on a hamster wheel to have as much wealth extracted out of them as possible for the financial benefit of people they don't know.

This excuse is a load of crap loads myself included want the glam and want to fully gear multiple classes to play the content. Even when its increased to 900 just before an expansion you see a large influx of players spamming away to max all the classes they want.

Weekly cap this early is fine but they need to let those who have cleared help others without punishing them, even if they don't get to roll again themselves

All of this.

I'm loging off because if there isn't an EX4 with a spot free for my main , then since Chaotic PF and still having nothing to show for clearing Ex1-3 my heart is just not in it enough to host my own anymore.
My alt role still can't get geared because of augment cap.
The truth is I enjoyed progging Ex1-3. I thought I was going somewhere, now I know I'm not. And I'm just not bothered if I ever clear EX4. I just don't know how to pick my PFs
and honestly, I'm afraid of look like a "progliar" just because I don't even realise I'm still misunderstanding the mechanic/strat.
Thanks to the augment cap even my main still wasn't fully augmented, and it's only just now catching up with normal raid gear. I had to share augments with my alt role to get that sufficiently greater for ex3 last patch.
I'm progging it. It's ok. But I'm not having fun anymore like was still with EX3.
34,000 gil a week I have leftover from the rouls I can still bear to queue is not enough to consider crafted grear. Crafting and gathering is just horrible with the vanilla game. (Not in hurry to unlock the moon). I reccon I'm probably still playing around 10 hours a week. That's enough. But I just absolutely will not dedicate it to meta farming on my own for x,y,z. I like to join in other people's activities. Go with their flow. But it's all pretty pointless as that means just super casual. There is no engaging casual.

Even with the weekly limits ppl "grind" for 1 or 2 weeks then go away, simply because the contents are not interesting enough and don't reward enough. SE keeps spamming the same formula for years, people are bored, and even new players will get bored at some point. They just keep this game running to "feed" the shareholders as they say, but imo because it is their main source of money. Won't last long in the actual state of the game tho...

How does 450 call keep people raiding?
All the caps do (450 and normal raid) do is keep people out of highend raiding until it's so old that there is nothing to "be a part of", and the best opportunities to try it out with friends have gone, and it's just not with it.
It achieves *0* else.

You want to keep people in dungeons? Give them 1 chance a week to win a low drop rate mount. (The game has more than enough revenue to lash a mount model together for every dungeon. Assumes they are not spunking it on other games)
Same for raids. Give them something cool. Give them 1 chance a week.

The gear caps do nothing to keep people in content. They just KEEP THEM OUT OF THE NEXT content.

Crafted great is useless because there is no 'playable battle' way to earn enough Gil to buy it at mb prices that doesn't require more scheduling and psuedo statics. (Everyone knows my opinion on what crafting has become. Crafting without mods is just yuck)

Tomestones are not strictly related to raids. People cap them who do not do raids. Therefore, the idea of those is to keep them doing dungeons each week so that queues for roulettes like expert or others pop. And this does work because you easily see it pop with others trying to cap, and you know they are trying to cap on reset day because the people matching with you have weapons from ultimates or other raids glammed on.

I understand that EX4 feels kinda hard, at first. All those rose mechanics gave me vulns for quite some time. But I stuck with it for 3 weeks straight and cleared 86 times, often in bloom5-enrage parties to help them clear. I learned every single strategy and every single variation. If they struggled, I taught them how to be better at it and linked imgurs of what to do.

After doing EX4, I feel like it's excellent casual content. It's not going to actually give people the sort of issues they've had with M6S or ultimates. It's not actually that hard. And the enrage is so lax I've barely seen it even when there has been 16 deaths. I've had farm parties that died at some really bad times and salvaged it consistently so that every pull was a clear...

If you're struggling with a mechanic though, I do recommend making sure that you understand it better. You can absolutely do every single mechanic consistently when you understand it, so if it's going wrong sometimes, should look at some videos closely to see what you might be doing wrong.

One time there was a player that didn't understand how to rotate the sword to not cleave the party, but they were flawless at the entire rest of the fight, and once we helped them understand that we just cleanly beat the entire thing.

A lot of other parties just can't do EF2 correctly. Your best bet is just to do the BD strat for it. It makes EF2 the same as all the other EFs.

Other than that, you may get vulns in some of the rose mechs. Not a big deal really, but if you're struggling with them you could make a post asking for tips to do it consistently.

Given the weekly tomes cap, heavy weekly restriction on savage raids, and the global state of PF (at least on EU DC) where the main issue is dealing with toxic players/prog liars, it's not surprising many people kinda give up and go see if the sky is clearer elsewhere. Raiders with enough determination to keep farming like this are just a pinch in the player pool, many players just don't want to pay a monthly sub for so few contents (and rather bad ones) and to be strained with limits, restrictions and other selfish players

It really doesn't cost that much. If you world visit for cheap prices using World Visit at Limsa you'll find somewhere that has each crafted piece for probably like 100k or 200k. This would make the total cost about 2 million. Plus you can simply get the weekly raid gear from the normal raids instead, for free. You can get the materia currency from fighting hunts making that completely free, and you can pentameld for free if you have the materia by leveling a crafter, made very easy with content such as Cosmic Exploration or Ishgard Restoration. You also don't need to pentameld if you can't.

you love being a white knight don't you? as someone that find crafting boring even 2 Millions is a good amount and on week one it's 17+ most the time so please stop acting like you know everything and normal raids only drops four piece meaning you get one top/legs 2 of the rest or four accessories or a mix to get 3 piece instead but right can't complain without a white knight defending the game problem. if you are happy like that congrats but robbing player shouldn't be a normality

oh ya also forgot the normal raids savage start to 740 without spending a thing in gears from other player or crafting. 450 tome for one item only not two but one and max 4 from the normal raids leaving you with 6 missing piece and that's if you got for accessories for the normal raids do you barely saved 7 million without Penta meld too and if unlucky as hell you can lose all materia quickly forcing you to spend more gils that can still be around 7m to 12m and if you don't craft well though luck better save now for next tiers because after 3 days all pf require guides

Guild Wars 2 f2p is better than this game subbed & unlocked. Better PvP, better world, better classes, better gameplay by miles, better/more engaging farms and even better dungeons and raids, which is hilarious af seeing that GW2 instanced group content is also trash.

Oh yeah, and everybody gets their own instanced house, mind-blowing concept.

Square can't even do better than a 'company' which now consists of 2 devs in a rented cubicle, a PO box and a fax machine.

cap stuff is there to prevent ppl for grinding gear.
If its possible many ppl will get gears in a day and refuse to play with ppl that hasn't grind.
Imagine if you couldn't raid for a while and all PFs require thousands of tomes to join.
With tomestone cap and raid gear lockout,people that only play few hours a week can raid without being left behind.

Over the years, I've hardly any gil usually. Just what I get from roulettes, selling materia from Extracting, dungeon loot and hunts, and spending Heliometry on the newest crafting materials. Those crafting materials sell well because they are used to make the new gear. So you profit from the raw materials used to make crafted gear, then you can spend that profit on buying said crafted gear - skipping the step of having to make it yourself. All that does make 2 million decently fast.

No, not week 1. Day 1. Also, the savage raids do not release for a whole week now. Also, I said you can use the World Visit System to get a cheaper price because you can. While some worlds will sell individual gear pieces for 2 million on day 1, others will go lower and sell for 100-300k.

Week 1 (no savage released then). On week 2 you could have 4 accessories, a head and foot piece. You could have Mathematic arms and a Mathematic ring. If you clear the Extreme trial you could get a good weapon. That leaves just the body/legs, which you could buy with gil.

honestly it is still a problem no matter what because gearing is painful and they need to find a way to still make the old gear important with you know a token upgrade item to upgrade to minimum ilvl of the new savage
