Please tighten up the housing system

This Is a request I have had for years. But I think the housing system rn is very broken. You can have 1 house PER character per world, and this has allowed people to own over 40 houses due to alt creations. I'm sorry... but with housing so scarce I think it's time to review this system. I would like a system where in you are locked to 1 House and 1 fc house PER dc.

I think the bidding system could be refined aswell, I would like a similar pity system to bozja where if you loose go you get extra points. This way housing is given on a priority system of need not want.

In my server phoenix there are just no houses and many who are illegally selling them through fc purchases.
Please square. Tighten up this who system and do not let people bid on the same house with alts. I cannot compete with 40 alt guy who sells houses online

If I may also request a way to ensure every gets a house is now that we have cloud storage could we have wards automatically generate if no more wards have houses to bid on?

There are plenty of houses, you should have mentioned that you are specifically looking for a Large/Medium in your post.

Are you bidding on the fc plots you say are unfairly being bought by multiowners for resale purposes? If you are, I'll help you find a zero bid small fc house next round.

Ive been tryna win a small for weeks now and its lucky if it gets <8, bids. There really arent enough to cater to demand, that player is not based on my server and likley only saw a small number of houses after a quick world hop to a city state if at all. He certinly did not do any research before posting his reply. If he had hed have seen how many bids even one small gets. Not to mention he didnt adress any other points i made here]

There's literally 2 pages of houses that are for personal, and even more for FC on the paissa website.

What you want is to get your favorite plot, and that's not SE's problem, the housing system is fine, except if you are on Balmung/Mateus and very select worlds, there's more than enough houses.

Just get a house and stop bidding on mediums and larges only, or only on mist 49.

You'll get the same as usual response "I dont want to make an FC to get it, I just want to have it !!!"

You can't have one house per char. You can only have one personal house per world.

It used to be one house per char, but they changed that and the only people with multiple char houses on the same world are either grandfathered in or are paying for multiple accounts.

You can have one house per character if all but one are FC houses and you know how to work the purchase system. And of course if the houses are available in the lottery.

You don't need a huge number of accounts to do this, only 2 (or one if you have a friend willing to help you).

Well this creates a very big discrepancy with what OP is claiming. Can anyone confirm that there are, indeed, that many available plots on Phoenix and check to see if any went uncontested during the last lottery period?

They are all available, there's no need the verify. They are on the site because they are available, and even if they arent, they show as "results" or disappear from the site entirely, they dont stay.

How's that "they'll never add blacklist function to housing" working out for you?

Whether or not this person's server has available plots that they hadn't availed themselves of due to preference, I am still a proponent that having such a resource fundamental for several aspects of the game limited to a fraction of the actual playerbase seems silly.

60 plots per ward (including the subdivisions), 30 wards per locale, 5 locales per server, makes 9000 plots per server, and 72,000 per standard logical data center.
288,000 in NA and JP, 144,000 in EU, and 45,000 in OC, makes a grand total of 765,000 houses available in the game as of now.

If each half ward has 20 smalls, 7 mediums, and 3 larges (based on the Goblet, unsure if this is different in other locales as I wasn't bothered to check), then that would make...
510,000 smalls,
178,500 mediums,
and 76,500 larges, across all servers.

For a game that likely has a handful of millions of players playing actively enough to maintain a house, this is unacceptable.

If a person has the aspirations to foster a large FC, or even just flex their creativity or participate in design contests, then it would be a bit silly to expect them to just tolerate a small estate. And yet, mediums and larges are so fought for because of their scarcity, sat on by those with the means to constantly upkeep their sub, even if they don't actually participate in most gameplay anymore. And in some cases, a single person will monopolize several of this extremely limited resource.

I will never not be a supporter of instanced housing. But until that happens, we need so many more restrictions on who can own a plot in a ward, and how many. Letting people grandfather in their monopolization of a ward is the third dumbest thing ever to come out of Square Enix (the second and first probably being XIV 1.0 and the push for NFTs).

Phoenix has 309 open plots, at least 0 of which are available for bidding.
287 plots have missing or outdated lottery data if we take this number literally there are 22 houses for sale in all of phoenix. then you did not count or specify, how many are fc plots, how many are fc/ single person and how many are single person. nobody solo is going to waste effort bidding on fc/solo since its not fair contest. so we can count out the fc and fc/solo plots. this leaves us with a much smaller pool. i cannot say for sure how many exactly are there. but its maybe 5? max. which again ties back to what i said that every house is over bidded. even the smalls. if you go to phoenix and check you will see for example. the solo plots available in shirogane is ONE small all the rest are fc or fc/solo.

it saddens me many people choose to fixate on the houses on just my world alone instead of take notice of some of the more concerning points such as houses being sold by fc famers.
I understand everyone wants that "gottem" moment, but this really isnt it, this system effects every single player and it honestly isnt polished enough

and yes if you just look at houses for sale it seams fine until you look at how many bids even smalls get, then u can see its pretty bad. for example in all of shirogane only 1 small is for sale that is not shared by fc/individual buyer. its just individual buyer. JUST ONE. as for why shiro, because it being in stb would make it harder for new accounts to quickly reach. this problem isnt even confined to shiro either btw.

This implies that there are only so many FCs out there who wouldn't want to avail themselves of a house.

And also that there is only one multi-owner. Or that they'd stop at 10, considering a single subscription can foster 40 characters in a single region.

Isnt a problem on actually populated worlds from what I've seen over the past few years, except some very rare exceptions that have like one person own an entire ward.

Does it suck ? Yeah, but if they got it fairly, so be it.

for a long time the people selling clears on pf were not breaking the tos. so the players complained, and they changed it. its not a matter of "its ok because its not against the tos" its a matter of, the tos havent been updated to deal with this, but prolly will be one day

i cannot say why yoshiP decided the housing is fine as it is when it clearly isnt. there are entire websites dedicated to selling fc houses for irl money. and this is entirely ignored by the team. it is a loophole in the system, because the system isnt robust. the fact people are finding so many cracks to slip through is proof the house needs repaired.

Those sites are actual scams and they arent even selling the houses because they dont have them, it's a pretty well known fact in the entire housing community

You can see when they were updated in the second from the right column. They've all been updated within a day or so, most within a matter of hours.

None of them are FC only plots as you can see in the "Allowed Tenants" column.

I count around 20 individual only plots, but if you're looking for a house and artificially limiting your selection by not bidding on mixed bid plots you're contributing to your own problem.

Nobody cares about a "gottem" moment. You said the whole system should change because there are no houses available on your server, which isn't the case. Don't make things up if you don't want to get called out on it.
