Someone was saying that the primal battles will disappear come 2.0... Is this true??
I hope not.
Yep. They'll be set up as roaming NMs which takes you into an instance (which defeats the purpose of making them roaming...)
So the fights that exist now won't exist in the same way in 2.0, probably just the ones regarding Relic, (extreme/garuda) but even then Yoshida said they'll make adjustments to the quest in 2.0, so who knows.
:C Oh, thats totally lame 'cause I can't find anyone yet to help me do primal runs because I've never done it yet. No one wants to let newbies join.
I might get back to you once i get an actual drop on my main account....and i still havent gotten one yet.
(Starting to think SE have a "Hate list" wich my main account's name is on, hence why im not getting anything but DM)
So...either it's plain luck, or some other reason. (cuz i've done alot of runs)
That's sad.... that is another issue coming from low drop rates though. I can understand people wanting only experienced players for their runs since it already is very very hard to get a drop when you win.... and if you loose or take time to teach newbies....
I don't do Ifrit runs no more, otherwise I would have /told you in =(
BTW...
....you are gonna need Sentinel for Ifrit ;D
Just pointing out that the part I've put in bold remains unconfirmed speculation. There is certainly a good argument for it being true, but so much remains completely unknown. The next clue will come when they release the list of achievements that can no longer be obtained in 2.0. If "had me some fun" (beat Ifrit in the bowl of embers) is on the list then we'll know.
It is confirmed that the fight won't be exactly the same as it is now. They way you encounter the Primal is part of the fight. They could easily give you the same achievement for a different strategical fight and do something like "Ifrit summons a circle of flames around you" (Bowl of Embers) when you engage him in the open world and enter the instance.
I am getting as many weapons as possible just in case
Can someone post the source for this info, please?
Would be great to fight the primals as roaming NM's, but they should leave it as open world fight, for example with ifrit, as soon as you engage him a big circled area would form with nails that comes from the ground and fire, so other players cant join but may see how you take him down, outsiders nearby the party that claimed it, are ousted from the area, idk with some kind of animation like them running away or making an emote the party members to him that everything is under control and the outsider walking away, with this only a player or alliance can take down the primal without any outsider disturbing them.
The best of it is that they can leave the same fight stage setup that we have now or make it even harder, to solve elements like trees they should put the spawn area free of objects.
That i think is far better than instance, in Sky you were locked away on an island but everyone else outside the party could see the fight from the other side, and it was great trying to see what were they using, real time strategies and of course the recognition of the comunity.
As I understand it, there will be roaming versions of all Primals, but these are just used for GC summoning battles.
Primals will still be fought as they are now, although the entrance to their battlefields will be in different spots.
(again, this is speculation based on bits of info I've seen)
No, it's not confirmed. We know that Primals will roam but we don't know if the current battlefields will be gone completely.
Yoshida already confirmed that Ifrit Extreme is here to stay which also means that Garuda's battle will as well. If Garuda is staying I don't see why Ifrit or Moogle should disappear.
And then there's the chat log in one of the 2.0 screenshots where someone is telling Linkshell members to gather at the Howling Eye which is where you currently fight Garuda.
So no, it's not confirmed and it'd be quite silly to assume so. The weapons aren't worth 2 weeks of waiting and that's assuming you even find the Primal once its released.
I prefer the primals to be a roaming NM that once claimed your group will be taken to their instance realm like how Yoshi-P described. If it wasn't instance there is chances that other people will try to sabotage your fight, and large group of by standers can lag you.
Oh okay..I figured lol. Just a bunch of speculation then. I believe they said around when 1.23 is released they will say what will be disappearing when 2.0 comes out, hopefully we will finally have official word then :) I just wish some folks would stop stating things as if it is 100% set in stone, when there is no source...just mere speculation. >_<
Here is what we know from an interview from Japan Expo:
Quote:
[Someone's voice] : You said that the primal will only be summonable by Free Companies. Will they be roaming all over the map when they reappear? Will they always respawn at the same place, or will they respawn anywhere?
Yoshida : Anywhere, you can find it anywhere.
Quote:
[Someone's voice] : It's better that way, else, a huge Free Company will always be keeping the primal.
Yoshida : It will not happen. You need to be lucky to meet the primal. You need the luck the primal first, and then you need the power to defeat it. As long as you have those two, it'll be yours.
Not much, but its something!Quote:
[Someone's voice] : And then, will the battle happen on the world map, or will it be instanced?
Yoshida : It will be instanced.
like the old school JRPG's random battlesQuote:
Yep. They'll be set up as roaming NMs which takes you into an instance (which defeats the purpose of making them roaming...)
To add to this, the only "roaming Primal" partially "confirmed" is only Odin, which is not available in pre 2.0. In addition, there will be multiple difficulty of Primal fight (Easy, Hard, Extreme) and it will not be possible to have this without instanced (Oh hey Easy Ifrit spawn next to Extreme Ifrit, how do we kill Easy?) and it doesn't even make sense of having multiple Ifrit roaming the open world.
Fixed that one for you.

So Ifrit and Garuda are no longer primals? We know Free Companies can summon Primals if they defeat them and gain their card and in order to do so they must claim them in the overworld...i.e roaming.
I don't know if you played FFXI or not but multiple versions can exist. Multiple ways of encountering them is more than possible. Ifrit Extreme itself is already different quest compared to Ifrit hard and guess what? It exists at the same time as Ifrit it Bleeds...amazing. So unless Yoshida is talking about new primals and Odin only, I'm pretty sure the thing that's being purposefully left out is the fact Garuda and Ifrit are primals too. Another thing that is easily forgotten, is the easy/hard versions have 7th Umbral Era ties. as in it's intertwined into the storyline that will go away come 2.0
So there's more than enough evidence and reasoning as to why Yoshida said the fights in this form will go away in 2.0 and what was confirmed thus far is they'll be roaming, then we know Ifrit X will remain as that's unrelated to the 7UE for the most part. So we know the instances in regards to the Relic Quest will remain which simply means there will 2 versions of Garuda and 2 version of Ifrit.
you are STILL taking things out of context, no where did he say primals are going away
when he said things will change, he wasnt even refering directly to primals themselves
and as you said, its possible for multiple versions to exist, so again, why cant it be possible for the instance endgame fight, AND the free company instance fight exist? there is no reason at all
you are backing up the opinion you have, with no proof at all for its accuracy and now that youve backed yourself into a corner and people have pretty much proven all you are spouting off is "heresay" and rumor, and not fact at all, your fighting for people to just believe you.
when we have proof, we will have it, til then, its a rumor, and in no way shape or form a sure thing to happen the way you "think" it will
when we have proof, then we will have proof one way or another
