Zero roulette rewards for lethargic play especially in Frontlines

The Mogtome event has created too many people who play lethargically in various roulettes, which by the way is against the ToS so thank me for informing you later.

There's already a piece of content in the game that gives you 20% of the rewards if you play badly/AFK, and it's Chocobo racing, which happens if you get last.

They need to do that for every part of the game, there's no reason for someone in Frontlines to do less than 100k damage to other players, just none. That means they were either AFK or just doing nothing the whole time. They should not get any reward, why should they get as much reward as the people who carried them to victory with 15+ kills ? Same for dungeons, if you do less than 3000 DPS in a Lv90 dungeon you should get no reward, because an auto-attack is 3000 damage, if you do less than that that means you're not even using auto attacks really.

This isn't to punish players who are just bad but to dissuade players who ain't even playing. As long as you are trying you won't get no rewards don't worry.

They should be able to track the damage done in roulettes as well since they do it for PvP.

Watch the people who as WHM spam Holy and never heal in Meridianum attack the thread like angry hornets.

What is there to heal in Castrum Meridianum ? Actually you should very much be using almost nothing, other than the very occasional Medica II, there really is nothing to heal.

It's simple, start calling them a "tomer". Every time they say something just respond with "okay tomer". Tomers are dead-weight and ruin the experience for everybody else. It's time to start calling it out and calling these people what they are.

I'm very close to finally getting my achievement Allagan mount from Frontline and have been putting in a ton of effort to see my team succeed, so it's incredibly frustrating when people in alliance chat just talk about chilling or letting the other teams win because they get their tomes regardless. If I try to talk to people about actually trying I'm either met with indifference or ridicule. "Who cares if we lose? It's just a game. Stop trying so hard. You don't *need* that win mount." Too bad SE's report system is totally useless and allows people to just lazily coast through matches.

I've seen players who will just stand there and do nothing or just wait for the boss room to warp them in or - in some cases - just auto-attack the entire time.

Problem is: a person in my old FC for example had a pretty severe disability that affected their decision making and reaction time which made them, um, not the greatest player. It was often quite frustrating but there aren't really any rules that say you have to be -good- so i try to not judge folk too harshly.

however there does come a point where i want to take the people who wait at the doors in CT instead of killing trash and throw them off the top of said CT.

Tired of seeing people with 50k damage 0-9 in frontlines as DPS.
I don't mind losing but at least you feel like everyone at least tried a bit.

I think they should just auto-logout anyone who's been AFK for a significant amount of time, period. Doesn't matter if they're in a dungeon, PvP, or anything at all.

I mean, placement in Chocobo Racing isn't really based on level of effort, it's heavily weighted on your chocobo's stats and RNG with what items you get from boxes. And of course, you can be in the lead the whole race and then somebody uses that Meteor item and completely wipes you out.

You literally created a thread just to say that pulling wall to wall in dungeons is the "minimum requirement" and that anyone who can't do it should only use Duty Support so they don't waste your time. So, you do want to punish players who "are just bad," and by keeping them out of live groups with real people, you seemingly want them to stay bad.

I think lethargic play is a bad sign the game is boring.

Some people are just lazy though.

You must be very unlucky. I have never been in a roulette where people did not do their job correctly. Sometimes during front PVP people does not apply the best strategy for sure, but it's rare and are not linked to tome event. Most games are pretty closed in points. Same for dungeon, sometimes you can see new player or people who try new jobs but, almost all of the roulette I do are clean.

Do you try to kick them? I usually initiate a vote kick if i see someone afk and often it goes through.

Ppl afk during fl is super annoying, i guess the event and roulette attracts ppl who whould rather not play pvp but just want tomes and exp but i think it is still better than it was before, when i started to play pvp in 2015 i had to wait 40-120 min for a game to pop (8v8v8 o.O)...

Yes please... im already not the best and yet i see plenty ppl doing not 1/4th my damage... or not using Lb or spamming emotes for several minutes...

Livia raidwides and her tbs. I was lucky to see a Regen. No Medica II either. Four wipes because WHM kept standing in the orange and dying before anyone else.

I am not sure if player damage is a good metric. I like to hit rocks until my ninja lb is ready then l go take kills with it. Also, l can pad a tons of damage as scholar, But people can walk away from it and just pot to negate all that damage. So l can dish out more damage than a dragoon+dk. It means nothing. And What's up with "titanman_topic" in this thread's tag?

Was going to say this. SCH can run up to the entire enemy team a few teams and spread the bio and that's easily a few hundred thousand damage. Then just go back to being afk. Could even just do the same as DRG with your LB.

I'm not against anti-afk measures, but there's too many opportunities for people to get around it. The reality is we need GMs to actually care enough to look into these situations and take action.

Last time I tried vote kicking someone the team acknowledged that they knew the person was afk in the chat, and that it didn't matter.

When people quite using mods to auto target nearest player with lowest health or auto execute Limit breaks if it will kill a player within range I will start trying

Sounds like a skill issue ? It's not hard to click on a low health player.

By the way you can target nearest player with a keybind it's completely legal and it's in the game.

Yet ppl still used the mod. Its unfair and sucks - but some people are just lazy/awful/whatever and need to cheat, cant be helped...

Just because someone is better then you using the targetting system, you accuse them of cheating.
You can change how tab targetting works as a setting in game. Target closest to you or target facing are both solid PvP choices (target facing takes some practice). That's not even getting into macros.

When breeding for the perfect chocobo feeding your soon to be parents is a loss of MGP. EXP is good enough. I wouldn't call that "play badly/AFK". It's respecting my time because i don't have to farm millions of MGP for training that will not affect the final chocobo.

This is what happens when you put rewards in content people really don't want to do.

Double or triple the given tomes in other duties and it's a safe bet the only people PvPing will be those who want to.
