It needs its own thread. This is downright embarrassing, no tails on the outfit? Are the devs serious? The art team is serious slacking, first the hats, now this.
It's like it's all designed for Hyur and nothing else.
Pathetic.

Normally I don’t really care about events or glams but this one is just kinda embarrassing
A copy pasted event with zero new stuff in it, a 5 piece reward that is two pieces and doesn’t even match the theme of the event and the outfit hides the tails of 3 seperate races
Is square even trying anymore (that’s a trick question)
Just be happy that you guys aren't stuck with this:

I'd love to know how they thought that this was of an acceptable quality.
I don't play Viera but I used to play Au Ra so I have experience with having a tail, and I'd rather the tail/ears not be there at all than look this bad.
^ when they add in viera ears but not miqote tails but somehow adding in the ears is a more offensive proposition
+1. Tired of laziness and removing our racial features. They released ONE outfit this event and couldn't do that right.
That’s probably the big thing, I’m assuming if you like glam (I don’t I have like the same slut glam on like half my classes) you probably care about racial features because if you didn’t you’d just Fanta into a different race
Like I don’t care about glam but I play miqote because of the tail and the ears (plus the male cat joy emote), if all that is hidden what am I left with, the awkward hip thrust forward in the standard pose and the rigor mortis fingers
Not usually a "complain on forums" kinda person, but man was that a bummer.
Hyped for sentai outfit, got the sentai outfit... noticed my tail was amputated. Now it'll rot in a closet.
Honestly...
For the most part it feels like they had a singular person that was responsible, or knew how to retain the racial features, and it feels like they're either gone or elsewhere on Pasteur's new (obviously tinfoil hat here), and that nobody else is doing it with the same consistency or anything else. I've not been a fan of this pretty big inconsistency with this.
Why are we paying subs for F2P tier quality gear?
Unpopular opinion, but always when I played Miqo, I was happy when my tail was gone. I don't like this buggy tails and I always wished they would be optional.
I think that Miqo tails should be hidden in every heavy armor. Realistically, someone would wrap the tail around the waist rather than poke a hole in the armor. That would be a weak point and would also leave the tail extremely vulnerable. Aura tails look less soft and stronger. So maybe they would need some kind of extra tailarmor. P:
I also think, that the solution for Viera is better than if the headpiece wouldn't work in general, like it is with all the Makai suits and the Eureka relic helmets.
Heavy armors that properly account for the tails would be more preferable to having them clip through everything or disapear but I guess thats a lot to ask of the small indie dev.
How would it ruin a race when we would have added more options in the character creation? Where would it ruin a race to make stuff more realistic?
I just said..., if I would be a Miqo right now, then I would be happy that the tail is gone. I also liked the fat cat hoodie a lot, because it has no tail.
Combined with the cap, I had also no ears. Yes, I would like to play male Hyr, but (my personal taste) they don't have good options. And now I am a Hyr female, because females have much much more better glamour then males, sadly. And I don't wanted to have animal features.
I tried Elezen at fist but even on minimum size I was really tall, and the long neck and the wide shoulders killed it for me in the long run.
I think, that every race is beautiful. It's all a matter of personal taste.
But I also think, that's it's better to hide tails in outfits like the Phönix Riser suit. Or in other heavy armor, where it makes no sense to let the tail vulnerable.
You're fine.
You just posted something positive in a doomsaying thread completely clogged with the people that totally(insist) the love the game and only have valid critiques and don't attack other players because they want what's best for the game totally. /sarc
They don't like people posting positive things, so if anyone does, they harass the person until they leave the thread and/or forum. The ones that make 'em really mad are those of us that don't bow to their harassment and leave but continue to praise the game for what we think it does well and critique it for what we have issue with while somehow not brigading or dog-piling on people that disagree with us.
The choice would be nice. I hope for more customization in the future.
I always wonder when they show us this Miqochild, which has Seeker and Keeper features. For me this feels always like a slap right into the face. xD
It's like..., see what we can do! But you are not allowed! :')
I also hate tails and think they are very ugly. It's why I don't play any of the tailed races. I personally also like it when gear chops off tails as it fits my taste better.
But I think all gear should be showing racial traits even if it clips horribly like they do with most gear. People like their tails and for many it's why they choose their race.
I would really love being able to mix and match from the different clans. Like I like Moonkeeper skintones way better than Seeker but I want the cat eyes. I would also love unlocked racial hair since I hate Au Ra but I like their hime cut.
Completely disagree with this poster. Doesn't see realistically where a tail would even fit inside the Phoenix riser outfit. It's just cut off due to laziness, not accounted for.
Also don't think they'd find it comfortable wraping a tail around their waists inside armor. Also tails service functions.
Ugh. Whatever. At least this poster realizes their views are rightfully unpopular.
It would destroy the look of the Phönix Riser outfit if tails would clip through. And it's not the only costume without tails. Imagine the frog costume with tails clipping through.
I could imagine that that's the true reason for this decision. It wouldn't be a lot of work for them to let tails clip through. So I think it was a decision.
Seems like it was more of an artistic choice than any sort of technical limitation or "being lazy." Tails poke through other one piece outfits so I see no reason the same couldn't be done here if they wanted to.
Whether that choice was good or bad would be in the eye of the beholder. If one tailed race player wants the tail to show and another prefers it gone, who is correct? Ideally the solution would be to give everyone the choice between the two but unfortunately there is no /tail feature at the moment.
His Exarch outfit lacked a tail and as he wore his hood up for much of ShB, it completely disguised the fact he was a miqo'te (or mystel) so people just assumed he was a partially crystallized hyur (or hume) - Crystarium gossip though mentioned that people could swear they saw the hint of a tail peeking out under his robes, and that he apparently hid it by wrapping it around his waist like a belt.
Of course I lack a citation for that, and in the end he stopped hiding his appearence after Mount Gulg anyway, so that particular cat is now long out of the bag (pun intended). ;)
I forgot to try out the outfit before I logged out. Oh well I'll try it out next time. I hated how I couldn't skip all the cutscenes but glad each option had a "Nah...I'm not doing anything" option and it still complete.
Strange, how quickly some new faces turn to make things counter-intuitive to what would be best for the player.(even the option for a case by case basis)
Yet they fully take that stance that clearly isn't meant to imply negativity by fake positivity.
It's simple, keep the judgement of races out. People can dislike certain aspects of in-game races as they wish, but when in the discussion of taste. None here are wrong.
But in the discussion of best overall for the player the option to chose preference is best over all.
You also cannot truly say it was a Stylistic choice as the outfit on larger or smaller races clearly have a gap between the two sets of drapped gear on the Lower back.
Which is more than enough to have tail placement there.
The Honest answer, they could of done more with the whole set.
There really is no positivity in taking a opposing view(Regardless on a individual preference on tails, or lack of even having one) it honestly just creates fruitless back and forth on a thread only about how this one item has been race deleting features like many before that gotten fixed.
(not like Viera/Hrothgar or other races complain about the racial delete before.)
Ideally, it would either have the tail sheathed or armored somehow to match the suit, or an option to toggle it on or off. But only headgear gets toggles. Sometimes.
If I were still a Miqo'te or Au Ra, I'd hate to have my tail cut off. It'd just feel wrong without it. But it's not like I was gonna use this suit anyway.
does the lack of tail thing apply to Au Ra as well?
Settle down guys, it's already been fixed by the usual suspects.

I won't tell you how to find it, but I'm pretty sure you all know how.
It's Moren (in the quest In His Garden) that tells you at one point that he sometimes caught a glimpse of what must be a tail.
There's no reason at all to derive "wrapped it around his waist like a belt" from that, though – on the contrary, it suggests he simply had it concealed under his robes and sometimes failed to keep it where the fabric wouldn't drape over it.
It might be possible to keep a tail out of the way by curling it around a leg, but not around his waist – which in any case would create more of a conspicuous lump than simply hiding it in the loose space under the skirt of the robe.
Robe being the key part here, as it's a very different matter to supposedly hiding it under a skintight outfit like the Phoenix suit.
Boy, is Mao glads Mao nots waste times going for uglys suit!
That's a separate and ongoing issue for all helms, from what I've seen, though I don't have a Hrothgar so haven't tested extensively.
It's definitely weird that they haven't added a more cat-shaped face on this one at least, even if they cheaped out and didn't modify any of the older helmets.
(Helmets just need an all-round review to make them more race-customised. Make the faces fit for Hrothgar, make space for Miqo'te ears that actually fits their ears rather than two token nubs anywhere they feel like sticking them. And more ear shields for Viera now that this one has broken the ice on giving one helmet shape regardless of ear customisation.)
What world do you live in where the outfit does not match the event?
Do you know what holiday it is in Japan RN?
Do you know the game is MADE IN JAPAN?

But I do second that racial features should exist on these outfits.
I have a tail for a reason.
