do you think the current equipments in the game are so boring? are they lack of fantasy?
Fantasy is the only way to go. The imagination is limitless where reality has boundaries.
Fantasy equipment. It's been part of the essence of final fantasy for as long as i can remember. I really don't know why they decided to make all the gear and weapons look so normal and realistic... I don't want a plain regular iron sword.. i want my character to swing around a huge crystal sword twice his size and that is surrounded with lightning .... you get the idea... :D
and my conjurer using a piece of branch as a staff/rod... wearing an old robe attire like an old lady
A mix of both is fine in my opinion.
Save the really awesome fantasy stuff for drops/quest rewards/rare crafting/etc., and have "standard" gear for buying from NPC shops/"standard" crafting/etc.
There's no reason that fantasy can't be grounded in SOME reality. How many nameless soldiers in different fantasy mediums ALL have unique, fantasy-inspired gear? I think it gives some variance in the overall population, which isn't bad in my opinion.
Plus, having the really sweet looking stuff on a "higher shelf" than you can currently reach makes for a better carrot, right?
I like that crystal sword idea though... Maybe an entire tier of "crystal weapons"?
fantasy! *give me Buster Sword nao!*
Ok well, i do adore some realistic, but yea, this is final fantasy, it should be fantasy equipments! and of course i would welcome some realistic equipments.. but yea, i want my Final Fantasy Equipments.. .
I'm actually ok with the current style. I'm more concerned with variety. As long as it looks good and I'm not in a situation where I MUST have X item or be gimp, I'm happy.
Fantasy. There's an appeal to separating the high level characters from the low level ones from their gear's appearance.
I would like more variety with fantasy and realistic as far as looks go for gear, but I rather them work out the skills more.
I'd rather have more Steampunk then Fantasy. As thats how the whole series has been pushing since.... ooh.. FF1?
Fantasy please! No museum antiques.
Badass swords and Shields!
I want it all!
I really like the current system, where each piece of gear really resembles the recipe and the materials used to make it.
But we need some super gaudy, ridiculous looking fantasy gems from the uncraftable list. Something that you look at, and have no clue where the chiz it came from, or how it was possibly made and brought into existance.
Gimme my gunblade Q.Q
Fantasy all the way. Makes it fun and much more enjoyable.
more steampunk!
I kind of like the design in this game but the lack of colour in some of the gear is depressing, hopefully higher rank gear will be more colourful at least.
more fantasy, huge Shoulderpads just like WoW... lol.... nah skip the last one.
But i would like to see capes & backpacks.
I'm ok with almost anything as long as they don't have stupid auras around them.
They look cheap, ridiculous and old as shit, its like something you'd see on a PS1 game, not a new gen MMO, wither it armor or weapons, as long it doesn't have a neon glowing cloud around it, I'm satisfied.
all cloths in all ff games look normal out of my honest opinion. And honestly what do fantasy cloths look like? From what i seen, it depends on the fantasy. Either woman more skimpy outfits, or long dresses. Men wore cloaks or armor, or even robes if they where a mage. When you think fantasy you think of old english attier. Like lord of the rings movies. For high fantasy it a bit more modern and some clothing can be from steam punk style. Like ffx's neo religous attier seen in ff13. Like riligous looking cloths with a techno flare.
So ffxiv does have fantasy attier. Plus it fits the current age. We are in the age similar to pirates of the carribean movies. Where pirates ruled the 7 seas and islands starting to have city states.
Are you guys expecting gear similar to WoW or something? cuz thats not really fantasy, its flamboyent.
I'm good as long as it isn't anything excessively flamboyant/gaudy like in a bunch of Korean MMOs(Sword of The New World, I'm looking at you).
I'm honestly fairly happy with the current designs. More variety will be added with content, so I'm not too worried about it. What I DON'T want to see are hordes of armor/weapons with massive auras or the utterly ridiculous looking shoulders seen in some other games that are so big they look like they need their own zip code.
I'm willing to say that Rydia and Terra's are much more in line with traditional fantasy than most stuff in FFX-FXIII.
Not to say they can't incorporate anything "modern" looking, like something resembling Lightning's military garb or Fang and Vanille's stuff, but I seriously think Nomura was on some seriously hard drugs when he was doing the designs for FFX... >.>
damn military garbs in FF7 and 13..... SE, please stop adding machines and army to fantasy game
but yes, everyone in FFX wore shit and ugly attires. I'm glad they have modified Tidus attire in Dissidia
i like rydas outfit. Gotta remember though mmo can't have too complicated gear. The lag would be hiddeous. But ya more variety. I liked ffxi's rd outfit on mithra, and the monk style on mithra.
Dance t3 was my fave though. I love the black swan look. I wouldn't mind styles used in the .hack games/ anime.
I actually wouldn't mind a "the world mmo either, but that never gonna happen. (it got caned)
As long as they add in a rapier/smallsword i'm fine with anything. giBe mE fEnCer sTy1e nAo!!!!
4 5 6 8 have machine and army but they not look like technology from real world
What you guys want is more end-game content =3 (which ironically keeps an MMO game from ending)
... but hopefully the new gear is fantastical, in a realistic sort of way
I like the Longa technologies from FF5, they can includes machines to Final Fantasy without destroying fantasy :)
escaflowne is a great example of a high fantasy story/ theme. the movie/ anime have mecha mixed with a very magical fantasy setting. (its also a classic)
