They ban them every 2 weeks.
These bots are creepy. Same level/job/glamour, gibberish names, they don't speak naturally, and they all stand next to each other (when they're not busy phasing through the ground). It's like an episode of The Twilight Zone.
Sure, but that ban wave was yesterday. Unfortunately I can't see their Achievements to actually tell when they were created.
It's out of control, I keep seeing these people teleporting everywhere. They pop into the Grand Company and do mass turn-ins, probably for minions and mounts.
Also, we can say "Yeah they probably made these yesterday" - But pretty unlikely.. I've watched this same group level up for weeks. I don't see newbie clothing anymore teleporting everywhere like I did the first week of Marilith. I see them all geared now, pretty sure it's the same set of bots.
As long free trial exists the issue regarding to hack/cheating/rmt will never going to be solved.
Playerbase: Please get rid of these bots, they keep coming back!
SE: ...They payed for HOW many game keys?! And the first month?! :^D
just remove the games from pc, and everything will be resolved
easiest way to solve this would be to simply automate the RMT reports if the sprout is a trial user. if more than 5 people report them for RMT advertising and they're a trial sprout who hasn't completed their first dungeon (sash) then the game should just automatically "mute" them for 24 hours and disallow them from using any chat outside of instances.
Just people being over dramatic about bots as always. The other day it was "these bots make me lag" now it's "all sprouts are bots". Both statements that have minimal research done and are likely wrong.
As others have said, there are always going to be bots as long as people buy their stuff.
The problem is that the average player is dumb at spotting bots.
I have been called a bot several times simply because I was mining for several hours in the same area. A low level area. (identified a gap in the market)
Two people called me a bot who was ruining the game.
I have no issues with bots as long as they aren't lalafells, I feel like this is why people are so against them.
We could stop free trials to cut down on bots.
Okay sure, it was a turn of phrase, but the majority of them were. Maybe you were one of the 5 on Page 2. But all of Page 1, and almost half of Page 2 were bots. Out of a total of.. 2 pages of Sprouts. lol
Also just checked right now, in what I'd consider a peak time for FF. 25/60 Sprouts are bots.
Farming methods like this are why I'd be in favor of them just axing the gil drops from dungeons entirely.
They already stopped doing it after HW, so why not just purge it entirely and replace it with rewards that are still valuable but not as easily exploited for gil?
I'd rather they didn't do that.
I have paid for all my ilvl610 gear just by doing dungeons whenever a healer is on the 'Adventurer in Need'.
It is my main source of income, and I enjoy healing.
Even if you don't mean the 'reward' at the end of the dungeon, the 76+ gil per mob dead starts to add up. That is a good 3,000 gil a dungeon. Add on adventurer in need, and it brings it up to 15k for a completion, plus whatever the boss drops.
Same thing that happened on OCE servers.
Even the same name structures convinces me its the same RMT botfarm as there.
Square enix do nothing about them, i have come to terms with it and stopped wasting my time sending reports to the non existent Special Task Force that deal with bots.
I like healing more than gathering though.
You also need these sources of gil generation for the economy.
As far as I know, people doing dungeons is the best way to generate new gil for the economy. Leves are limited. Quest rewards are paltry. Selling stuff to the NPCs takes an age to get anywhere close.
If you took away the ability to generate gil from dungeons, the in-game economy would suffer. You have less gil flowing in.
One day, when gatherers didn't have automatic stealth, I watched a constant stream of them trying ti mine a node right next to a higher level mob, which promptly killed every one of them. It was a most satisfying thing to see.
Eat the rich.
Sure, inflation might be an issue, but you're also in the minority of players that has that much gil saved up.
I don't really have a solution, but I know that any solution that hurts the smaller players at the expense of players like yourself isn't worth it.
