PvP Implementations you want to see

What PvP implementations do you want to see? Can be specific or general. Let's hear some community perspectives.

I'll start us off.

- Diminishing returns for crowd control
- Revised Guard and Purify
- Reduce hit box of spells and abilities, especially of the AoE CC.
- Exclusive and meaningful rewards for top 100
- Exclusive rewards for each rank tier on top of the portrait, chroma pets/mounts that shift colours (up to achieved ranked if its a passive effect) for example with a button. Unique!
- A PvP team with weekly communications for competitive modes.
- Taking western feedback into consideration instead of pretending we doesn't exist
- Meaningful adjustments, we've had same meta since release, forced BLM, RDM and WHM meta.
- More PvP modes 5 vs 5 capture the flag or 10 vs 10, king of the hill, etc. The new revamped PvP translates well to these types of modes.
- Official community events by Square Enix and player recognition for outstanding members.


Manifest destiny!

Top priority:
Improve net code to at least 60 ticks per second

Dragoon LB aoe marker removed

8v8v8 and smaller maps

Damage reduction removed and diminishing returns on CC brought back.

All them suggestions would go really hard, especially the dedicated team for weekly updates.

PvP that's actually fun.

Feast rewards on the series battle pass or on the crystal trophy shop.

More abilities

More than anything, consistent support. PLD cheese took 6 months to fix. Can't imagine how much longer for stuff like DRG's LB color or Rival Wings roulette.

Wishful thinking, I want more maps for CC that don't have lame events and instead rely on its level design as its gimmick. More gamemodes would be cool too.

Frontline map on the moon or in the first.

Rework/remove Borderlands. Dealers' choice.

Roles tuned for better balance if random teams continue moving forward.

Role lock for rated CC for the sake of consistency.

Special Event Blue Mage Brawl modes once per month.

Seasonal Alt color of feature mount/pet/glamor for the mounds of crystals I'm hording.

An actual PvP gamemode. One where you fight players, not objectives.

It's a real shame Cover thing was fixed. Onsal had those nice pockets of people simply giving up on ovoos and having fun fights in the middle while PLDs do their thing. Now we are back to spending most of the match riding to some arbitrary clickable. Blegh.

The ability to actually talk to my freakin team.

Reworking frontline from the ground up, starting with getting rid of the three team BS (my ideal would be two teams of 12), and making them less rng based, it's not fun to have a good team but lose because to spawns are on the enemy doorstep.

Fixing whatever the heck causes ability delay.

Diminishing returns on cc, three WHMs just imp you? Oops they just gave you cc immunity for x amount of seconds.

Get rid of all one shot gimmicks.

Get rid of the ridiculous damage reduction for melee, it shouldn't take an entire frikking party (or more) focusing to kill ONE melee.

That's all I can think of off the top of my head for the moment.

allow us to actually blacklist people in pvp. if I have someone blocked I don’t want to see their quick chats/spam.

better matchmaking.

delete borderland ruins.

Hi Elfidan, I usually do not like to poke on people's wishlist, but I'd like to give my two cents to this suggestion.

Role lock in Ranked has existed for at minimum 10 seasons in the Feast, with physical and magical Ranged sharing a pool. While we enjoyed borderline balanced matches, it was a very strict dichotomy of how to play Ranked with each role having clearly defined tasks.

This caused side effects. Most notorious was Healer anxiety, because designing PvP around dedicated Healers existing in all games put a lot of stress to this role. Suffice to say, we always had a Healer shortage.

Tanks initially were also underpopulated until season 18 and beyond. Mostly attributed to being a punching bag with minimal kill potential Stormblood onward. It felt rather boring.

This affected everyone in form of horrendous queue times. Between 30min to 3h for initial matches, faster if.everyone stayed. If.

Please be careful what you wish for, we've been there and it wasn't all roses.

I'd say another notorious side effect was how easily it enabled cheaters to boost their ranking. Simply have a boost account and a throw account, queue them both for healer at the same time, and boom! Guaranteed separate teams where you can afk the throw account to boost your main. The removal of role lock greatly reduced the ability to cheat in this way.

Wintrading still happens and people just use same job to queue against each other. Also its popular to have tons of alt accounts and throw matches for other people :p

I suppose the difference is that you have a better chance still winning a 4v5 compared to back when a Healer throwing for wintrades actually dictated the result of a match.

While I remember the queues, the lack of healers, the nasty berating hate speech that got tossed at the few we had when a match was lost. There is a huge difference between healers then and healers now. Having only a couple none self-heals has forced people to accept more responsibility for their own play choices. I hear what you're saying but I don't think 5 dps against 1 war 1 whm 3 dps is that great either, and that happens an awful damn lot.

A QoL for PvP? A somewhat leveling system on specific jobs you play and participate. Have that on the Vs screen of CC rank, but see your pvp job lvl. Achievement rewards are of course in the game. Get a super, hyper, shiny mount based on that job joining 1k matches.

This, because I'm sick of being in matches where we're hard losing and 3 or 4 of the people on my team have just been holding their LB for well over a minute.

During Feast season 1 to 8, a lot of people got banned because they can't control their mouse
Every time a player submits a ticket it means SE need to dispatch a GM to deal with this childish conflict because people do not understand how to talk to each other in respect manner.
Go play Onsal Hakir and you be able to clearly understand the main reason why SE need to ban chat for Crystal Conflict

That's a lame excuse. You can automate silencing someone for spamming abusive chat for 24 hours to let's 2 weeks and if the right tools are given to players in the form of mute chat and pings for specific person or whole team they will have even less reports.

This weird extreme punishment where a GM needs to ban someone every time they step out of line is some CCP shit, pretty sure GMs and Square are already judged on their overuse of banning the most minor infractions whilst letting full on cheating or other abuses fly for weeks and months.

Chatting needs to be enabled in this game for PvP but with the right tools. Pressing TAB or whatever button to bring up a list of all players and have a button there for mute and quick report.

Make dragoon less crap.

It's a pet peeve of mine, but I hate it when secondary effects/damage are added to mobility abilities, e.g. Wyrmwind Thrust being bound to Elusive Jump, Corps-a-corps/Displacement additional effects. I want to use mobility for its own sake, not because I need it for damage.

Improved netcode but it'll never happen.

Sounds like every mmo with pvp ever. I can guarantee you though, just like then and just like now you didn't have the tools to quick mute or silence someone. Community complains there's too much rubbish but Square hasn't provided rubbish bins or tools to help dispose and sort rubbish.

PvP and competitive PvP is extremely dynamic and requires much attention, monitoring and for the community to manage itself, however, how can this community thrive if we don't even have official PvP and Competitive PvP representatives.

-5000 wolf marks and crystals for all ranged players who touch the crystal for zero seconds in a match. I joke but my god, its like Overwatch and Widowmakers all over again.

lol i don't agree with the losing currency but yeah it really is.

a vgs system like smite has, put a 10 second cd on it so people can't griefspam it, no need for typed chat anymore and it's much quicker then typing and a good designed audio is always better then some letters which a lot of people don't even seem to read.

CD on the basic heal we have and remove healing effects on all job specific skills, let people figure out how to learn proper positioning instead and up the aggressiveness of pvp, especially in frontlines.

We need more people to CC. We must allow Free trial playing CC.

The moment a CC match enters overtime the following things happen
-Sprint is disabled
-Guard is disabled
-Healing is disabled
-Overtime has a 60 second cap
-Respawn time increases to 61 seconds if you die during overtime

God I hate overtime.
