Fishing is a joke for SE

So this moment, today 19/10/2022 Fishing for SE is a Punishment comparing to Miner and Botanist.
Doing the relic weapon for all of them. Did Miner.. it was ok easy, an easy understanble grind.
Doing Fisher now. WHY SE? Why that last step like that? It has no comparison doing Miner relic to Fisher relic.
Why so so much harder on Fisher? On a job that as a gatherer is the worst one? Why the punishement when actually should be the reverse? Fisher is awful as a gatherer, Its the worst, very very little fish is needed in endgame, midgame, lowgame...

I really dont understand why everything is so much harder, much expensive (baits) on a job that is the worst of the gatherers...

Am I missing something guys? Educate me if I am. Really Im sad for Fisher at this moment. It has the Ocean Fishing and that is it.. all the rest is ...bad!

Fisher is meant to be more of a hobbyist thing than anything else, honestly.

If that is the case, they should put it like in a category as Blue Mage. Not a main job... a thing that ppl can do on the side. The relic thing being the same category as both Miner and Botanist.. the difference. Is abysmal! I just dont understant the why? I dont mind being it like that. But i dont get the WHY!?

I didn't find it that bad to finish the FSH relic. Sure, it took some time, but the amount of time was cut down a bit once I finished melding my gear to do it.

Its not a Main Job. Its a Gathering Job, just like Botanist, and Miner.

You have the sound of someone who didn't realize how fishing really is in this game until you chose to make the relic. Fishing is easy in this game until you want to get something out of it. Do the big fish quests? Welcome to needing to have right weather and time and fish who's windows don't show up for days. Needing a fish off a double mooch that has two different fish both mooches can produce? GL.

I dunno I do know the sheer size of whats needed for the relic is disheartening in comparsion to the others. But I don't mind the fishing in FF14 even if it doesn't have a overall use than to just exist. Honestly though so many games have fishing it would be weird if it was absent.

Its easy. Google me. Jibikly Pureheart lodestone. What I am saying is that everyone accepts Fishing to be how it is.. This useless job that has a lot of useless grinding comparing to its brothers Botanist and Miner. Its like everyone accepts it! Yes sure Fisher is.. just ... different. NO Its bad. It's not useless. It has stuff needed in endgame food recipes. Plus big fishing is a pretty big draw. The fishing community is quite large

Useless? Every battle job except Paladin, White Mage and well... Dragoon? Is useless as well.

I like fishing. It is my favorite side activity. And I can make millions selling stuff I fish. But you have to think outside the box sometimes.

Fisher is designed for a minority of players who actually enjoy RNG heavy grinding. And it does not take away many ressources from other content. Just let us have some fun.

Fishing may have required more, but that's only because you got to sit still instead of run around in circles. It's so chill compared to the other gatherers. It's only natural things get balanced that way.

I do wish there were less RNG involved, but learning bite times is fun (MOST of the time)

The only thing bad about Fisher is the fact we still don't have a tackle box for all the bait we're meant to keep.

I don't think I've liked fishing in ANY game I've ever played. However I'm glad it's optional.

Is it the Skybuilder tools? I find Fisher relic is way easier than Miner and Botanist... Both are so tedious to gather at Diadem while Fisher is just... Go to Azys Lla and pop Patience II and done with it :)

Meant to keep? You're not meant to keep anything. You grab some bait, try and catch some fish in a region and be done with it. ARR is a little heavy on the baits, but outside of that content area, you don't need to keep anything you picked up there. The same goes for all the other expansions. They made versatile lures as well as freshwater and saltwater boilies for those people that want to go everywhere. Metal Spinners are the go-to for deliveries.

A tackle box would eventually become irrelevant when a player completes their fishing log. This is one reason the team will never add any kind of dedicated inventory. It's better just to have general space.

Spear fishing now is a joke but I still like the normal fishing.

I wish we have a portable orchestrion player so we can listen to music while we fish

I love fishing. It's one of the most chill and pleasant activities in the game. My first Skysteel Relic was the rod actually, just from how slow paced and pleasant the whole experience was. I also came to really like the Delta Quadrant in Azys Lla. It was strangely one of the most pleasant places to fish in, at one of the river areas.

Praying for a day where we get a mount or something else more...substantial from collecting the big fish.

Would also be nice to get something like a spearfishing expedition down the line due to that method of fishing being more fun and engaging then the alternative.

I think all gathering classes are quite boring and a waste of time, more tedious than relaxing to me. Maybe my favorite thing to happen to gathering so far is the updated spearfishing with the visual minigame. I used to ask for mining and botany to be more graphical and involved like that; got to give them some praise for actually doing something like that but for fishing.

A recent fish they added requires catching a certain number of things within that minigame's timer to activate an intuition status. That's the most engaging that gathering has been for me so far and I like this direction. Just needs some worthwhile rewards for spending time on it, some potential to earn good gil.

Spearfishing is nice because it's more about your focus and timing, rather than the ultra RNG of regular fishing that's more like rolling dice for hours/weeks until you get lucky. Regular fishing is always my last resort when I have nothing better to do.

I found all parts of that relic relaxing. I dunno I think it's just not your thing, and that's fine.

I absolutely love blue mage too and it's in the same category as the other magic ranged jobs, it's not hidden somewhere else, I don't know what you're talking about

I don’t understand what I’m meant to see from googling “Jibikly Pureheart lodestone“. Fishing is the engaging DoL that revolves around reducing rng. It’s competing with blue mage for not only best designed caster, but best designed job overall.

You know, for a "joke" job, FSH has sure given me a bunch of gil that I in no way did anything to earn.

Sure FSH could use some QoL and more use for fishes ; but the fishing itself is mostly fine.
I'd rather chill here with my feet in the water than run like a chicken from node to node.
May not be to your taste, but at least it's different, the last thing we need is another copy/paste class in this game.

Fisher has more achievements than the other two gatherers combined. It reminds me of BLU actually. Very little real purpose to the job entirely. Hard to get titles. Sense of accomplishment. Little Eorzea-world applications. Not none, but little.

Still feel like they should add a fish market as a possible source of gil n other rewards. But yeah some daily and weekly bounties that you can trade in, better versions of gc turn ins but with harder to catch fish pretty much...

I wouldn't mind if they made FF14 fishing closer to FFXI fishing. Well, early day FFXI fishing. I don't know how it is now. Chances of rods breaking, hooks that can pull up multiple fish, etc.

It's leisurely...until you are trying to go for every single fish. I kind of gave up on that after going weeks without being able to catch the last fish in the hole.
