Talk about a double standard. AST and DRG were promised a rework but got pushed to 7.0 because "it would be too hard".

To me, OP's two quotes just sound like PLD will be receiving significant adjustments, while AST/DRG will receive a possible SMN-like job redesign. In which case there's no blatant Double Standard.
But I guess this is all up to one's interpretation of both quotes.

Does make me worried for 7.0 DRG though, considering how SMN turned out.

It says adjustments. It does not say full rework.

Could be they're going to change just a couple of actions with most of PLD still playing the same.

AST and DRG are going to be getting actual reworks, though. Do you really want them to rush reworks with half-formed ideas of how to fix the major complaints just for AST to end up worse for the rest of the expansion?

Wait until 6.3. If PLD is given an actual rework instead of just a few action changes, complain then.

I'm waiting for the AST rework myself. It's a job I want to be able to enjoy but can't. But I'm also willing to wait for them to do a proper job on it instead of pushing out something that will end up feeling just as bad as it currently does.

Not sure how is this a negative. DRG/AST might still have a chance at well thought out reworks. PLD is just going to WAR III or GNB II. Don't need much dev time for that.

You mean people were incredibly pissed off at Samurai changes, so you're mad that the same thing didn't happen to Dragoon/AST instead of SE taking a step back and thinking 'hey, maybe we messed up'? Or do you want this balance team to screw up your job because they obviously don't play it?

At the moment, it sounds like PLD is suffering from not fitting into the two minute burst meta more than AST and DRG are suffering from... well, I'm not sure how they're suffering, exactly. So, it makes sense to me that PLD would get "fixes" before AST and DRG, especially if the alternative is PLD getting locked-out for the remainder of 6.x.

AST and DRG changes got delayed because they were not adjustments. They are planning full reworks. I can't comment on AST as I don't play healers, but DRG is literally fine the way it is right now.

They should push back the DRG rework to "never."

That's what people huffed for copium on Healers in ShB. Seeing how nothing changed with EW, I have serious doubts they will introduce any complexity back into SMN come 7.0

I mean, they're the superior options to their alternatives. Whm is an easier but weaker ast, Sge is an easier but weaker sch. You can thank homogenisation for that.

Whoever decided buff vs selfish healers in a role with 1 button spam was a good idea is probably the same person who made healers the way they are right now

DRG is apparently suffering from success. They think it's just too perfect right nw and so they don't know what to do with it in future expansions, so for the sake of future expansions they're gonna make it less complete, from what they said.
AST is suffering from...being too complicated for the solo msq crowd I guess. Plus healers aren't allowed to press more than 1 button while not healin so AST with cards has way too many.

And yeah, PLD seems too unique for their tastes and that must be fixed asap cause we can't have that sort of madness around here.

PLD doesn't really have significant issues in its design. It's fantastic. The issue is like SE said, that its design is not providing the advantage it once did because of a change in battle design. They could solve that by changing the battle design instead.

I really don't want to see them hastily rework PLD's rotation so that it's unrecognizable to what it has built up since ARR.

In ARR we got the Rage of Halone combo. In Heavensward this evolved to two Royal Authority combos between each Goring Blade dot combo. In Stormblood this evolved to replacing two Royal Authority combos with Requiescat and 5 Holy Spirits. In Shadowbringers this evolved to using Confiteor instead of the last Holy Spirit and 3 Atonements instead of the second Royal Authority combo. In Endwalker, the Blade of Faith combo replaced one of the Goring Blade combos that usually followed Confiteor. We can still experience all of these rotations by syncing to lower levels.

And it would be sad to think SE might just scrap all of that for a rushed design of a bursty rotation just so that P8S is workable at minimum item level.

I don't think you understand what the word rework means. Adjusting potencies is not a rework.

Also I'm pretty sure I've seen a bunch of posts on the forums of Dragoon and Astro players saying they don't want reworks and just want minor tweaks to their jobs and are terrified of what Square is going to do to their jobs and are happy they're getting pushed back.

It feels like the current healers were designed by how a dps main thinks healers should play. That is to say, not to the dps player's detriment. Healers are excessively forgiving to play and leave little to no room for skill expression. They made damage as uninteresting as possible because ''that's not what healers should be doing'' But then they also don't make the encounters do actual damage because that would disrupt the dps power fantasy if the healer can't handle it.
