Paint the blood of a virgin in the pattern of a pentagram on the night of the full moon, and....
....wait, there was an 'r' in there? Disregard this message, you saw nothing.
Friends? I'm too busy running dungeons and stuff to bother with that.
Try hanging around the Limsa Lominsa aetheryte and just chatting, it's a popular place.
Start your own Free Company.
Try adding people you have good experiences with.
don't suck...
Violence and bribery.
Gotta level up your communication. Unfortunately it's one of those hidden stats you can't keep track of, so it's easy to forget it exists.
Usually? I don't.
The meaning of 'friends' on the internet seems to have become 'add a stranger's made-up name to a list and then never interact with them again'.
Trying to form a meaningful relationship in a sea of strangers with no way to verify that anything they say is true is usually a fool's errand and can backfire spectacularly.
Not to mention, text is an awful way to communicate and can be easily taken the wrong way. Tone of voice and expression give a ton of clues and with text that's just gone, but hey, at least Discord voice chat helps with that.
That's not to say it's impossible, just very unlikely.
Also, I'm lazy. lol
TL;DR: Sometimes I'm very thankful I'm an introvert! xD
Easy, depending on your definition of friend.
Not really sure most of my friends have quit playing or moved to other datacenters. Only friend I know of that is always there for me is my chocobo.
tf is that thing? is it a new feature in the game?
In game I suppose it just I meet someone and have a good time and what not and the time was enjoyable I'll send a friend request or even they will send the request.
This way:
It has been stated that that the human body is chemically equivalent to a mix of water (35 L), carbon (20 kg), ammonia (4 L), lime (1.5 kg), phosphorus (800 g), salt (250 g), saltpeter (100 g), sulfur (80 g), fluorine (7.5 g), iron (5 g), silicon (3 g) and trace amounts of fifteen other elements.
Join an FC, join a static (there is a reddit recruitment page), RP your way into something with others so your characters spend a lot of time together, spawn S ranks or conduct trains.
There are millions of cats needing a home. Adopt a few of them and now you got 4 legged friends :)
(not miqo'te)
It seems harder now than it used to be because most people online just don't seem to be as social as they used to be. I'm inherently introverted, and I talk more than a lot of the people I get grouped with.
You have been randomly selected... to become my friend.
That's social media. As well. When people have 1,000 friends in face book or whatever but never talk to or interact with any of them and suffer from depression because they are super popular have all these friends but are always alone..
Also modern society is very self centric so people only want to k ow people when it benefits them.. work friends tend to demonstrate this. Can be super good friends with a Co worker but they or you leave and bam never see or talk to each other again..
And in xiv its part of the reason many people struggle with statics and raid groups because as soon as people get what they want they bail on the group....
And lastly there's the antisocial design of the game even with combat... if you talking your not dpsing or your falling behind slowibg everyobe else down .. big no no..
My circle of friends is a lot more old school though many of them have been friends since out old ffxi linkshell and we ay a ton of games together. Been to weddings big parties holidays.. etc.
But everyone new we meet is so self centred and superficial.
I'm not afraid to start a conversation or jump into one if it looks like it's one that isn't private.
I've made more friends in shout chat in Balmung in 2 weeks than the several years I was in Faerie just because it is THE social capital of FFXIV.
Seriously. Visit Balmung. Hang around in Uldah for a couple hours and just don't be afraid to jump into a conversation. People have it in their head that everyone is just E/RPing but in actuality we are just talking about nothing and everything.
First you get the appropriate master crafter and gatherer books; not only are the latest friends always a master craft recipe, they generally rely on the latest materials gathered from the timed nodes. However, as a shortcut, the aethersand you need to use can generally be obtained by using aetherial reduction on your friends from previous tiers who are no longer optimal.
Remember that if you want to guarantee the friend you make is HQ, you may need to overmeld your crafter gear.
(...more seriously, I find that humor often works! ;) )
I'm very selective about the company I keep, both online and in real life. So yeah, I don't have many friends, but the ones I do have are wonderful. How do I make friends? Usually, I just...don't. lol Friendships are usually just happy accidents for me.
My Friend List have been empty since 2020. I had enough dealing with horrible people in general.
F...riends?
click a player then right click and press "send friend request" :)
Making friends is easy, be friendly!
If you are looking for some friends I can introduce you to a few of mine. You'll find me at the Steps of Nald at X-10.3, Y-8.5 Roughly two hours from the time of this post tonight. That's about 8PM Mountain Time.
See you there....
or not...
I'm going to be social with my group either way.
I throw chesses at them
My steps: Make characters with weird names. Hang out in limsa. Dress like a moogle maid. Tell peeps to hydrate.
Bonus: Maybe sacrifice them to a primal
I don't. They're just a distraction! :P
be kind,
be respectful,
be useful,
don't judge people too much
If you want to make jokes, think first if you can hurt someone before you spell it,
Talk more in the FC chat.
If none of that works, repeat everything, but start your own FC :)
Thats something i also realy would like to know. I own this game since 1.0 and still havent figured that out. Ultimate raids are a pice of cake in compare to this challenge.
One thing i do miss about old wow. You almost had to have a circle of "friends" to get anything done without pulling your hair out. Half of your guild would just mine and craft all day while chatting in guild chat. Sometimes guild chat was so hilarious id just run around orgrimmar and listen all night. I think many people played only to socialize, which was great. And theyd would always ask for help with something, or help you with something. General chat or trade chat always had conversations going on and they would also sometimes be hilarious. Random people whispering you if your armor looked cool, or asking you to tank something, wanting advice or help with something. Good times.
I haveny found anythIng in FF14 that comes close to that yet. I may just not be looking hard enough, being older and less sociable. But I really dont think its quite the same.
