Opening of housing on new worlds

For the record, Oceanic took from 2 to 3 months to open their housing.

What gives this only took 3 weeks ? Home world transfer has not even been opened yet, and most people did not manage to make an FC there or were too busy leveling.

This is screwing up everyone as people didnt even get a single chance to make fcs and to move there to get some communities going.

Housing opening on new worlds always has been multiple months, how is this any different and in particular how is it fair ?

I am happy for my European friends they are not being made wait the 4 months + (1 extra for zero bug) they made us wait, but hmm;

It's super surprising they are not letting FCs form and level up the 30 days. But it means those who made their shells on day 1 of the servers will get the prime plots in wards 1-12 on 5th of August and those waiting for homeworld transfer to start a FC will miss out and be left with smalls as they watch the day 1 shells lap up the cream.

Edit: To be fair for everyone in those datacentres, I'd urge SE to reconsider and keep the new EU server's housing locked until 30 days pass from the restart of home transfers.

This is the biggest issue, as you mentioned it will all go to shell fcs and potential venues, actual players who wanted to transfer there and "establish" their fcs wont even have the choice to do so, it's absolutely ridiculous.

Make it so it starts 30 days from the reopening of home world transfer which is today, and this is fair, however this is not with such timing.

"The wait period is too short, now none of the FCs can get a house!!!"

Ffs, there's no pleasing you people at all.

This is ridiculous. Market boards in new servers are ghost town and they already push housing this early? I got an alt with FC ready just in case, so can participate, but this schedule is not nice to new players at all.

Maybe it's the shell FC's that encouraged them to do this. I know it sucks for legitimate FC's and 30 days should have been a minimum. Certainly going to give an advantage to those who actually created characters and have been leveling them.

True. Just really surprising they're opening it that quickly. It won't hurt people buying personals it seems and they've given half of the wards to them so far this go around.

Home world transfer was not even enabled during all that time, dont try and blame it on the players AGAIN.

I feel bad for the FCs with actual real communities who are deciding to move to the new players to get a better plot for their FCs.

Now instead, the premium plots will pretty much go to hoarders who establish shell FCs on the new servers from the very first day and actual FCs are once again screwed again by SE's weird decisions. Bravo.

Yet again, another housing issue, that would've been solved if we had instanced housing.

Perhaps SE could start the lottery only in the personal wards and delay it in the FC wards by 6 weeks? I don't know if they have that level of control to turn the lottery on and off by ward.

If they can't, then delaying it for all wards until 6 weeks after home world transfer resumes would make sense.

Or it may be they want to reward the players who got FCs started fast for new players. Those FCs would still rely on gil being transferred from other servers. Even the million gil bonus won't be getting paid out to characters created day one until the first entry period has ended.

While it's nice it's not a quarter long wait, but opening it on 28th July is WAY to soon. The worlds is not even a month old by then so no FC won't be able to get a house. They should've waited until 6.2 in august.

Are you missing the point that the server won't be even 30 day old by the time sales commence? No FC will be able to get a house when it opens. It's what people are frustrated about.

No one until any FC reach 30 days old. Thing is anyone that create a new char there and made a FC since day one has a 2 week advantage. Not the end of the world just quite different compared to what used to be.

Hmm, what's the current lottery cycle? When will be the 1st bid cut-off after Aug 4th (July has 31 days)

August 6th is the first lottery start for which FCs will be eligible.

Plots in the FC wards will have no entries in the first lottery period.

In the second lottery period, FCs that were started the first couple of days the servers were open would be able to enter - if they have the gil. That means they would have needed to transfer gil from their mains on other servers or buy it through RMT.

FCs that have been waiting for home world transfer to open to move wouldn't be able to start buying until end of August if they move this week.

You end up with questions regarding how many players thought it would be necessary to get a FC started immediately to take advantage of housing opening much sooner than most expected.

The announcement says the first lottery on the new worlds will start on the 28th (wards will be open for preview on the 27th). That means the claiming period would start on August 2nd and the second lottery period start on August 6th unless something disrupts the 5/4 lottery cycle.

That second entry period would last until August 11th, which would give FCs created before July 12th (or on it depending time of day it was registered) a chance to enter before that entry period ends (though not necessary on the first day of the entry period).

FCs created today wouldn't be able to enter until the third lottery period.

One thing that SE will know that we don't is just how many FCs have already been made on those worlds already. That number could be very small because of the lack of home world transfer. They may feel it's not enough for a majority of the "prime plots" to get purchased before the FCs being created this week are eligible.

So FC's made by the 11th will be able to participate in the 1st go-round of the FC wards

I was referring to private will be the only group that can enter first lottery period, unless I’m mistaken. FC will have to wait.

I suspect SE picked the date for a specific reason, either countering issues they saw with the way OCE was handled, or some other info they have as regards bot shell FC's etc.

It might! Depending on how many bot shell FC's were made in time to join the 1st available lottery FC's can participate in, they may not be positioned to put many bids on every large plot and not even participate in many medium plots; something they could otherwise do if given several months to prepare enough sell FC's.

Took a lot of cycles to go on my ward on Sophia. The two other large plots finally sold with the new wave of privates allowed. There are 26 unsold plots including mediums in my subdivision ward and that's pretty typical of many of them. Other servers have tons of plots available. I don't think that will be the case in the EU which is a lot more established.

Why would so called shell FC move to the new servers if they already have houses on there current server?
I think it more of a concern that they are doing this so only the FC who was created on July 5th, when the new worlds opened and not delaying the sales until a month from today, when they opened the ability for people to migrate to the new servers.

Not to mention, I don't think anyone imagined HWT being down for 2 weeks.

Just a new log to throw into the fire pit that is housing.



But wouldn't it make sense before a server opens to clarify. "We will open server July 5th housing cycle will begin July 20th." or maybe "We would like a fresh start on housing for our new server. Transfers locked until 50% of plots are taken by newly created characters. Limiting the amount of bots claiming housing. We will also be using this as a chance to review gil circulation."


SE needs a real PR//community team. The devs should stop doing LL. This isn't the small community pre 2.0. They seem to handle everything poorly. Some of these decisions take two seconds to realize, wow this is going to make people mad.

I guess this is what happens when you shuffle your old good members to different projects.
For instance, we have Koji a lot to thank for when it comes to how they were communicating with us back in 1.0 days leading up to ARR.
The same can be said for Yoshida who had a lot on his plate for several years (being a board member, tackling producer and director roles for this game, and producer for FF16 which has been in development for several years at this point).

I'm sure we can make this list long.

I want however to make it clear, that I still very much enjoy the game but there have been a lot of questionable decisions lately.

This, honestly. Doomers seem to expect these brand new data centers/worlds are already so packed with players rushing a shell FC that housing is already a done deal.

Give it a few months and players on these worlds will be complaining about long queues and dead markets, same as OCE.

They wouldn't be moving their existing FCs. They would be starting new ones.

I doubt it's a problem. No one expected housing to open this fast so I don't think many if any had rushed to make shell FCs that first week.

Except these worlds were added to existing data centers. Queue times will be what they're already used to.

The dead markets will depend on how many of those who transfer to the new worlds make use of things like arbitrage to fill up the marketboards with cheap items from the other worlds. Not many players make use of world visit let alone data center travel to shop for the best price. Players willing to take the time to "import" items for sale could get the new marketboards filled in short order.

We'd have Raubahn Ex 2.0 trying to get into our own house. Its already a problem when trying to enter/exit a populated housing ward or housing area when there's too many people inside..

Sure, if a RP venue is open with 1000 players trying to cram into the same ward there will be problems.

An improved instanced housing system isn't going to generate more problems because players don't have a habit of hanging out in their house or apartment 24/7. We'd already be seeing that happen on a daily basis since everyone is able to get at least an apartment if they're interested in housing.

I'm seeing over 200 shell FCs listed on Raiden with a level 25 Master and 3 lvl 1 alt members, prepped since the day the server opened two weeks ago.

And these are the FCs that are getting first pickings on the plots because of the 30 day rule? Half of them are probably engaged in RMT and will see those FCs changing Masters and names as soon as they have a plot.
