The Nvidia GTX 590 was just released. It is a dual GPU card which has two GTX 580 chips on the PCB. Costs 699$ Which is a really good price. Only reason I make a post about this lol is because anyone considering buying a GTX 580 for 500$ can pay 200 more for this ^^

It's not really a "Dual GTX 580", its just 2 GF110 GPU's on one PCB. Due to the low clock speeds the Performance is closer to 2 GTX 570's in SLI. I would stay away from this card, especially for FFXIV. A single GTX580 is still the better choice in my opinion as dual GPU cards have more disadvantages than benefits (Heat, Noise, poor OC potential, no option for 3rd pt cooling etc.).

same guy who brags in another post about his computer, my laptop is a cheapie toshiba, radeon 4200 int., 4g ram and 250 hd, plays the game decent at med settings, only real lag I get is when it rains. I plan on getting an alienware mx 11 which they run the core comp all the time on sale for 599. with upgrades is about 800. only people with a complex needs a 700 dollar video card that games are not even using its full video power yet, and when the day comes the video card has dropped to 150.

150? lol you'll be waiting a long time till then.. The 590 is a good card because it runs both of its memory linked as one. Like games such as GTA4 that requires a buttox load of memory would allow you to run it maxed graphics.

This card is a little too much for the average person.
If you're into crazy folding or maybe some designs work I guess its ok.
But for regular gaming a 560 ti or a 570 are more than enough.
I've yet to fully utilize my SLI 470s on any of my games lol. -

I own a gtx260 and playing normal//high settings(mostly normal) with 34-40+ fps steady.
Seems fine for me. If I ever save enough money up I will defiantly upgrade to top notch. -

Well I run the game on 1920X1080 10 draw quality rest maxed, AO and DOF off, and SLI 64X AA I am still playing around with it. I get 60 frames most of time not in uldah or crystals. I can 99% both cards sometimes no depending on whats going on in game and weather im in fullscreen or not. Keep in mind the SLI profile I use is not meant for FFXIV someone Macgyver'd it. It is probably a crysis profile or something. Im sure things will get better when SE decided to optimize the CPU issues or NVIDIA make a proper profile. Atm I dont know who's to blame probably both. You will notice when running around uldah its your CPU taking the beating though and not as much the card. Or both maybe.
Well with that said I just realized I get the same performance when I put 3D on.. so that may mean there is room for improvement because I should be taking a hit at that point and I dont. -

Its probably the drawing at 10 making the biggest factor but yeah i agree the whole CPU/GPU/SLI scaling relations in this game are messed up at the moment. Correct me if i'm wrong but doesn't enabling SLI-based Anti-Aliasing only improve image quality but not performance over single GPU rendering since both cards render the same frames and merge them for the AA effect ? Maybe try it vs. conventional AA modes.
