Be patient and appreciative

Pretty smooth launch day I would say.
Obviously, the queue would be long until maybe early January. If you struggle to get in the game, understandable, just remember that the game is not made just for you alone.

If you want to play without extended wait time, then pray adapt and adjust, log in at night or very early morning like what I've done earlier and am doing right now. So far so smooth, less then 10seconds wait!

Sure it sucks to be stuck behind log in screen while you may have requested dayoffs from work. But you should have expected this, it's launch month. I consider myself lucky to be able to get in during the day. Max I've waited in line was 46 mins. Official launch day would be more congested I assume, so get yourself mentally ready for what is to come.
Besides we have two years to wander, why rush it?;)

I disagree the problem isn't the queue time. The problem is the error 2002 you get while trying to get into the queue and even while in the queue. I would probably go as far to say that this expansion has actually been the most unsuccessful launch FF has had. I would also like to iterate that the game was delayed for an additional two weeks for QA and I would think one of the first things to check would be accessing the game. SE has had server problems since this game was released and the fact that they continue to have server issues 8 years later is completely unacceptable. Instead a simple apology and being told to deal with it. You can defend these actions all you want but would honestly be ignorant to ignore this fact.

Exactly this.

What makes it worse is the memory function for the queue (which remembers your place in the case of a DC) isn't working either. Many have reported and I've experienced it myself, where sometimes you can log back in within a few minutes after an error 2002 and it'll just continue your queue, but other times you can get the error, log back in within 15 sec and it fully resets.
Waiting in a queue would be fine if the queue worked. But with the high chance of being disconnected and having your queue reset, you're literally waiting hours for a dice roll. The longer the queue, the worse your odds.

I'll still be patient and understanding and even feel bad for SE because it can't be an easy situation, but not appreciative since I'm currently paying a subscription for this. It's a bad launch. They knew it would be and warned us, but that doesn't make it a good thing. It's rough for them, but they're a business selling a product, it's on them.

While I understand the problem, I have to sit for hours in the queue to be able to get in the game and then pray I don't get disconnected and returned back to more hours of waiting. Yesterday I waited for 6 hours before I could actually play. Today I've been sitting in queue for 2 hours already and still have 2000 people in front of me. While there's nothing that can be done about it and I obviously will wait because I want to experience the story, I have a right to be upset about this situation, I paid money to play this game and I have to deal with difficulties that SE should've dealt with years ago.
So please, stop telling people to be patient and appreciative when you yourself don't experience the same problems as others do.

Interesting, I know certain amount of players have reported this error 2002 problem. But a lot of us, as far as people I know and from this forum never experience this error at all. It seems to me a collective player-end issue. Just putting it here. Besides, for example, time is now 9:18am here in the east coast, there's virtually no wait time to log in. I am evidently not able to understand your frustration.

Some have encountered the error some haven't, but one feature that some people aren't using and even if they want to use most times it doesn't work is the Visit Another World on the character screen, this would help a few people play the EA on low populated servers, until things go back to normal, but the feature isn't always available. And i do agree when people say this is probably the worst launch, ARR EA was bad but not as bad as this EndWalker EA, since yesterday I was able to only play for 3 hours the rest was me giving up on staying on a large queue of 8k just to get error 2002 out and going to the back of the queue.

Just here to point out that me and the majority of my guild have experienced the 2002 problem. It's not just some small "collective player-end issue." If you experience a 3000+ queue (which is common for peak hours) then there is a great chance you will come in contact with this issue. The people screaming for refunds are overreacting sure but brushing off the problem just because you haven't experienced it on a Saturday morning just comes off as condescending. It really shouldn't have to be said that it's not ok to have to have your customer sit through the same 30-40 minute queue only to be kicked out at the end and have to restart the queue.

yes over all its close to perfect but people have problems and they do not need to suck it up as its not a free game.

Queue time on light is 3 to 8 hours atm (depending on your spot)

I spent 3 hours in a queue of ~3k until I hit spot 6 and got kicked by a lobby server error ... back to 8k

I have no clue what they are doing, but they 100% exclude every person with a job from this release (atleast on my DC)

Most if not every MMO has rough launches cause the corp behind it doesn't want to pay too much for new hardware which will become useless once the initial hype dies down. Every MMO does that and it is a well known practice and they all say the same "We didn't expected so many players". And yes this is the case even if semi conductors would rain from the sky and covid would be healed by a miracle, why buying new servers when it goes anyways back to normal in like two weeks?

It's just good business at the end of the day, for every company that brings out MMOs.

Exactly people dont mind the queue. The problem is the error code 2002. This same error happened on Outriders launch.

The error prevents you from even getting into the queue. While in the queue you can get the 2002 error and get kicked out. If you get 2002 repeatedly your spot will no longer be held and you will start over in the queue.

But if you can get past that and into the game. The server is really stable. No lag, no stuttering. Once you get into the game, everything is awesome.

Once again being ignorant of the issue does not mean the issue does not exist. Again this is a clear example of not addressing issues. SE does wrong they honestly are not a good company and have not been for well over 10 years. And the issue is not a player-end issue. The issue is with the fail safe they implemented as you can read about in there apology ahead of time for the launch. It seems obvious when the log-in server reaches its thresh hold instead of preventing people from getting into the queue is simply starts removing people from it. How it decides who to remove or if it out right crashes I am not sure as I did not implement it. Now why don't you log out around peak hours and try to sign in and experience the problem others are having instead of willingly ignoring this and praising the almighty Yoshi P.

Also getting kicked while being in the queue and then getting put at the end again, especially great for like 6k queues. Waiting would be not a problem if you don't get just put back at the end at random.

It's good business practice for profits sure. So are micro transaction and other horrible things that are ruining the gaming industry. Also this game has had notorious server problems for several years now.

Yeah just pointing the facts out cause fellas always come around the corner with the semi conductors. Sure they play a huge role but at the end MMOs and every game that needs servers give us rough launches cause they don't just set up tons of hardware for nothing.

ARR had a rough launch, HW had a rough launch and yeah also Stormblood and ShB. All before the world just turned into a giant kuponut and still there are always rough launches, in every MMO. Someday people will learn that and don't just focus on silly excuses.

Ah yeah, lemme call my work and tell them that I will be arriving late because I stood up till 5 AM in the morning in order to play the video game I took 2 weeks off for but couldn't because it was delayed.

Maybe because it's the truth? See what suits you mate, we individual player can only do so much to affect others' experience, I'm just stating the chances and the other way to look at the problem. Like I've said, adapt and adjust, or simply wait till the hype's over. I myself is having fun so far since the launch at 4am yesterday.

And best is that you can wait few hours and then when you are on 500 or les spot get kick and go back to 6-8k.I cant play at the morning because i have work and famyli too so for me it means that I pay subscription this month for nothing? Because it means that when i have finally time to play i will not be able to log? Its really sad I expect some trouble but not be able to play even i paid is not only trouble its really unexpected and sad.:mad: I really love FF 14 iam playing from beta of realm reborn but never was so sad and so angry. Get always kicked during waiting to log in the game is unforgivable Iam good with waiting but this is really sad.

At this point they can't honestly do anything and wait out for the hype to die out. Thing is that the game got a huge new players influx over the year and they honestly did nothing. Before ppl say blah blah covid blah blah, they had a year and could put some of the money we pay to have a proper release which clearly we don't and worse is official release is in a few days where things will get even worse. Another letdown. Sadly I've so lost the great respect I had over the devs and now just see them are plainly mediocre. Pretty much like in any other game.

Not even kidding when I say I was in spot number 1 in queu and got hit with the 2002. Got back in at number 4633.

Just want to address this line right here. You do know 1.0 nearly bankrupted SE, right?

I'm thinking would the physical logistics be possible in the amount of time they had between the HUGE influx of new players and release? I don't think they had a clue there would be this many people suddenly. Would they hardware even be possible to procure in the amount of time? I know absolutely nothing of making a game, so I'm thinking that they had to suddenly make some very big and expensive purchases and try and get it set up in time...?

Most unsuccessful launch? Lol. This is the first time they have had an early access launch, with queues in the thousands. Shadowbringers wasn't even remotely close to having this amount of congestion.

And then you have people saying this is really successful because previous launch queues had 23k+ people. Weird. I guess he means unsuccessful as in disastrous. Which I support. 9 hour queues should never be accepted nor supported, yet here we are.

You mean 8 months in advance with all the means and data necessary after making an announcement on how congestion might happen? I suppose they saw something coming.

Seriously, it's dead simple. SE said:"Deal with it until people get tired" Their subscription, that is, the money they paid to play, expires, they decide not to sub for this absolute disaster, and queues are more tolerable. People already bought the game and paid for a month and they saved on servers.
