So honestly with the news of hq removal, it seems gil will overall become more and more worthless. Most people will never obtain a house, apartments are running out of other limitations. Almost all items can be bought from npc so why would we buy from people on the marketboard when there is no High grade version with better stats/use more often. There is none that I can think of so I was thinking while playing Final fantasy 7 remastered we could use a new mode in the open world that could benefit all aspects of Final Fantasy ffxiv. The solution “adventure mode”
What is adventure mode?
Glad you asked, this mode would allow the open world all across the game to be made useful and into a mini game. Think of the bike chase in Final fantasy 7, the snowboard game in the original and so on.
How would this make gil worth something?
This solution would add a npc to all the starting zones so that when you buy a ticket (599k+) you will obtain a clear crystal. These clear crystals will have a charge amount based on the size you buy from the npc.
What would you charge it with?
You would charge these crystals with Aether based on the zone. Many zones could be wind, fire, earth, light, dark, ice etc.
How would you obtain the charge?
You would start a solo/or tag-team adventure mode at the start of the zone after both of you buy a clear crystal. Upon completion of “waves” you will obtain a charge based on how many kills you got.
What would the result be?
The result would be an Aspect Crystal; these crystals could be used as an addition when crafting in order to add glows/properties to the items usable on anything in the game that is craft able.
What about cooking/alchemy?
This would be where the fun starts upgrading potions/cooking to have a use across the board outside of selected content. I call this benefit of what you eat/drink.
For these lets say you charge or buy a fully charge crystal with Wind
Your food or potion will give you more healing, stats sure but it would also increase the timer of how long it lasts by 10 minutes. While decreasing the cd hugely.

I get where the HQ concerns are coming from but this sounds so random. Where is the link between crafting XY item and then going out to get an aspected crystal.
Also what does "Upon completion of “waves” you will obtain a charge based on how many kills you got." Will this be an instanced zone like those solo duties where you fight mob after mob after mob?
You mentioned two different uses of aspected crystals. Glows and properties. I think we can all agree that enhanced properties are way more beneficial for the rest of the content than glows. Also what element enhances what property?

Removal of HQ materials has nothing to do with the housing situation.
With a player base that demand HQ gear and consumables, it's pointless to say "but NPC vendors sell NQ versions of those things with inflated prices" because players still aren't going to want to buy the NQ versions if HQ can be crafted or obtained through quest rewards.
As for your idea, it's interesting though I'd say the charged Crystal generated should be used specifically for ALC/CUL consumables, with the ALC consumables applied to gear to give the glow effect/other property on a temporary basis. If the effect needs to be refreshed, it would drive up demand for the consumables and thereby increase the value of the charged crystal. It would also allow them to be applied to the tomestone/dungeon/trial/raid gear.
HQ crafting is not being removed. They stressed multiple times in the exact sources you mention that it is only affected gathered materials. Intermediate crafts (ingots, lumber, etc.) and final products can still be crafted as HQ.Quote:

If you know what you are doing and playing that long its basicly impossible to be broke and by this time you also should allready have bought everything you want from the market board. There are more than enough really good guides on youtube and here in the forum how to make money. Just stick to one method or two if you really need some for a few days or weeks and you will have more than enough (if you dont wanna buy a big plot or some glamour thats worth like 20m or more).Quote:

Thumbs down on crystals that give armors special effects. Unnecessary feature, I think it would look dumb and devalue base crafted items and make it more difficult for crafters to make money. It'd be like if dyeing was only possible during the crafting of an item so that there's a copy of every time for every single color.
Which would you craft? Which do people want to buy? It'd be hard to invest your gil correctly as a crafter because there's 82 options for the same weapon. -

I think your ideas are cool, but there are other ways gil can be made. I imagine that if I cared about having more than a few million gil, I'd just do the world visits more regularly and then bathe in the gil like Scrooge McDuck. I probably spent a total of two hours doing it so far; that's a million an hour right there, just for playing the MB, and I am friggin' lazy LOL. If I actually put my mind to it and made a simple spreadsheet, and picked 50 or 100 items to follow and sell, I'd have five times what I have now.
