note you can combo this already existing abilities. it may not seem strong on paper but actually it pretty awesome actually.


Aquaveil + divine benison - this is good mix

Aquaveil + Asylum + regen + medica II

Aquaveil + Temperance + Asylum + regen + medica II

over all this is total 25% damage reduction. 20% increased healing with full regen effects active. with in this given time limit during big pulls you can use holy 2 without seeing your tank drop below 50 mid cast. in raiding it has different effect

Aquaveil + Temperance on tank on team during a big damage or vs tank buster. help your tank out

Something I would like to see be done for WHM is for Fluid Aura, Stoneskin and Divine Veil to be reworked and return as low level versions of Aqua Veil, Divine Benison and Temperance respectively because I'm tired of healing tanks that can't be bothered using any mitigation at all and makes low level content miserable to do.

It's always bugged me that they have a perfectly good trait system in this game and don't do more things like this. Such changes serve to get healers used to certain types of abilities at much lower levels, rather than, say - suddenly having Sacred Soil change its entire functionality at level 78. Nope, instead lets delete Fluid Aura entirely and just leave another job quest with no ability learned.

WHM's ARR healing kit is miserable as it is and it can very easily go OOM before 52. Ahriman in WoD is an excellent example of what happens to ARR WHM MP when you only Cure 2 tanks, Medica II every raidwide, and have raises to deal with. Hell you don't even need raises to feel it if you're doing the bulk of MT healing.

Ah yes, you can make big overheal combos that almost no content in the game will require. Sounds like typical WHM. Similar to the people who used to think it was the "king of healing" because of your 10 seconds of overheal glory in a tiny radius with Thin Air + Plenary + Cure III, while AST just rolled along healing most content for free while spamming Malefic the entire time.

...How? Parties make mistakes, yes. They stand in things they shouldn't. Goes without saying. None of this changes the fact that AOE damage in this game is so infrequent that Thin Air Plenary Cure 3 spamming is never, never necessary. There is one single phase in UWU where I've come close, and I still cast Stones between those Cure 3 casts. Scenarios where a group of people take damage back to back so fast that they require Cure 3 spamming by accident don't exist.

If cure 3 was bigger then it could be spammed more but sadly its so small it's not really viable as an aoe heal.

The sole situation I can think of where I've gotten value out of Thin Air Cure 3 (+Medica II>I spam) was doing O4S Almagests without a shield healer with some friends.

Outside of then? I've never found value in that and it's not for lack of trying =( Thin Air's value has always been in either wipe recovery (which it will still offer to some degree) or situations like Timults where you've got sustained AoE over more than a couple of seconds that's too significant to hand wave away with Asylum/Soil etc.

Rereleasing Fluid Aura as a low level version of also makes quite a lot of sense to me. WHM is in the strange situation where it's mostly regarded as the brute force no frills HPS healer, yet DS getting rebadged as Temperance has it actually struggling for 'oh s**t' options at lower levels. +1 to that suggestion.

Now you also need take in consideration that all other healers have something simular. these abelites stack and ramp. though you may think aquaveil is weak its very very strong. cause it can stack

Its same when dark knight uses blackiest night and divine bansion stacks with another jobs sheilds like scholar sheilding

people are like we get this help bad tanks wrong way to look at this abilities. its better the fluid aura. we getting some sort of a protect back in aquaveil form. nothing i said was wrong they just "subject to changed it"

they thought producing lilys when you holy was good idea. then changed it. cause ppl just abuse fact holy 2/holy produce lilys for free heals so instead they added charges. to thin air

But no more than other healing jobs. WHM's identity has generally been sold as the "big" healer, but every other healer's heals are big enough to make it redundant. Which is why post ARR I think the argument was to give WHM more utility to help it better compete with SCH and AST in terms of usefulness.

If you're talking about a life saving situation then it's about how quickly you can get that heal off. And whilst WHM has Benediction it's a long recast and it doesn't always go off in time, hence the "I swear Benediction went off" meme. So I think you're probably more likely to use Tetragrammaton for that. However, AST's Essential Dignity is two charges and they can do up to 1,100 potency with 1 charge, SCH's Lustrate is a flat 600 potency and Tetragrammaton is a flat 700 potency. Lustrate has an advantage in that it can be used up to 6 times (if you're using Dissipation) and Lustrate can be spammed more quickly than Afflatus Solace because Afflatus Solace has a 2.5s recast and Lustrate is a 1s recast.

There's other tricks in your tool kit too to save people's lives.

I feel like WHM just needs something in addition to its identity as a strong pure healer. If SCH and SGE end up relying on their shields more then this will help because then AST and WHM can better flex their pure healer advantages but given AST and WHM will share the pure healing identities. WHM just needs something additional. I feel the same for SCH too now that it has lost parts of its identity and SGE has inherited the part of its identity it still has.

So anyway, imma only use Aquaveil with Regen unless the tank is big pulling and undergeared.
