Where Are Child NPC Locations, Preferably with Parent?

Hello folks. Looking for child NPCs in game for a scene in one of my next music videos; ideally the child’s mother should be there, as the child will be addressing her. Alternatively I could have a PC play the role of the mother of course. Child should be pre-teen, hyur is probably best. Would prefer one located in an ARR area, and flight should be possible in the zone. I have been looking around but have not found much. Assistance would be appreciated!

There arent many children in the game in the first place - and most of them only appear if they're involved in a quest (mainly around starlight). Most children that we get to see seem to be orphans anyways.

Your best bet would probably be the playground in Gridania, at 9.7/12.2 - there are a coupld elezen and hyur children there, but no mother and no flying allowed.

Aside from the above, the only other places I know of with children are Mor Dhona after a point in the post-ARR Story and possibly Ishgard.

Does Eorzea have an FBI that I can call?

The only child NPC that stands out for me atm is Khloe but she doesn't have a parent. There were some Doman kids during the end of ARR and HW in Mor Dhona that could be found in a spot behind the tomestone vendors. I'm not sure atm if they're out and about in Doma after it got rebuilt tho.

We see some children in the Gold Saucer too. There's one parent-child near the entrance where you get off the airship. There is also another hyur child accompanied by a Roegadyn parent.

Hmm.. this thread has caused a thought to cross my mind... do we ever see any lalafell children in game?

Does the Ul'dah tutorial quest thread count? There's a part where you hand cookies out to children, some of which are lalafells.
However, they look no different from other lalafells, so I don't know what it's worth.

I'm sure it's been done elsewhere, too. In my opinion it's less meant to depict lalafellin children and more that lalafells are inserted as children due to their childlike appearance (and limited child models in the game, especially in ARR). I'm just not sure how after doing this, they could come out and say lalafellin children look significantly different from their elders.

Ah, and here I was hoping someone found little 6 inch tall Lalafell children in game that could be accidentally stepped on XD.

If you have someone who is a Miqo'te, you might be able to glean some vid captures from their MSQ interactions with Riqi'Tio. Also, you have the Aliapoh's (SP?) in Idylshire where you could have Zhloe play the part of mom which she kind of is already. Those scenes are during the Custom Deliveries for Zhloe. Not sure if any of them stay around in the orphanage. Of course, you always have Khloe, too.

Oh! There's also an orphanage in the Firmament which has some quests featuring kids and Charlemend's Custom Deliveries.

Another one I forgot about: The pixie quests! A lot of those feature children and their parents/guardians.

And to answer the thread's question with one that hasn't been mentioned. There were some children involved with the Little Ladies day quest a year or two ago, one of them being a lalafell who was below min-height, but otherwise wasn't too different from in-game models, IIRC.

There's also another one of said super-short lalafell on a random stairway in the gold saucer.


There's also those elezen in the brume having a snowball fight and interacting with you differently as the HW story progresses, and the ones in the, Firmament, right? New residential area? There's some having a mock swordfight.



As another note, the only races we've seen so far with unique child models are Hyur, Elezen, and Au'ra. We've never seen any Roe, Viera, or Hrothgar children, lalafell children are just super-small lalas, and Highlander children share models with midlander children.

The au ra who live in the sea bubble who's name I forgot have kids in it. Some with parents around.

There's a hyur boy with his mom and dad on limsa docks where you can go ocean fishing, but no flying allowed though.

If flying is a must... I think the best place is mor dhona. Hmm maybe can also try in the inn of amh araeng? Maybe kholusia has some too (the shacks near eulmore). Oh, I think I've also seen some kids at namai.

Also, just slightly northeast of them around a corner, there are some kids being consoled by adults. I think only one of the adults is an actual parent, as the other one appears to be in finer dress (a member of the church, I think). It's a pretty disturbing scene though. One kid is crying, one is either violently shivering or having some kind of emotional freak-out, while the calmest of them you can talk to and remarks at having lost all feeling in their body.

I just thought Freddy Krueger was funny and cool, I use to aggravate this old couple in front of me in church when I was a small child by saying Freddy is gonna get em, plus when I was in kindergarten my older brother would sit with his GF while we rode the bus and I'd tell them Freddy was gonna get em, but my brother would tell me to shut up and go back to my seat.

I even had the old Freddy Krueger doll, the one were u pulled the string in his back and he talked, but the principal took it away from me on the last day of school in 3rd grade cause I kept pulling it out in class, but I aggravated him so much during the day by going into his office and asking to give my Freddy doll back that at the end of the day he caved lol, after that I don't know what happened to that Freddy doll.

I could never step on a Lalafell, small or full-sized, the way they waddle when they walk reminds me too much of my one year old granddaughter when she walks.

When I'm referring to Freddy Krueger I'm talking about the 80s movies of him, I kinda lost respect for him when I found out he was a pedo is why they killed him in the remake, I hope thats not true bout the 80s Freddy movies.

Back on subject, there are a lot of kids in Mor Dhona? Not just the Domans - if you haven't done it yet, there's that weird aborted side story arc with the Adventurer's League, that I'm pretty sure had kid lalafels in it. And I know there's a mi'kitten wandering around the town.

There was also the windurst quests for the Star Onion Brigade which were a bunch of tarutaru children annoying a mithra. But it gave you accessories and eventually the title SOB Superhero.

It's hard telling, on one hand at least they left their victim alive but on the other hand look what they did, either way I'd say just take the torturer outback and put a bullet in their head.

I still watch Roman Polanski movies (some of the best psychological thrillers ever made) and Woody Allen movies. Still listen to MJ. Still listen to albums produced by Phil Spector.

Because all of this art is amazing art. /sigh

Here's another good example. Since you were a kid in the eighties, you witnessed the world get an instant distaste for Milli Vanilli. Objectively, they were kings of pop, too. Five number ones, their second album went 6x platinum. Then, cancel culture got 'em. We were being lied to! Well, guess what, we never liked their music in the first place!

Nevermind the fact that one cannot 'choose' what music they like and don't like. It happens on a subconscious level, and a revelation about lip-syncing and bogus frontmen doesn't 're-program' your subconscious not to like a song. The dopamine release happens regardless. Same deal with MJ, Nightmare on Elm Street movies, etc., etc.

Shoot, I still play their tracks from time to time. Yeah, they're basically eighteen variations of an Ashley's Roachclip breakbeat loop, but they are catchy. If the art is good, the art is good. The shenanigans of the artist objectively does not change the art.

With all the stuff taken from other FF games. A Star Onion Brigade quest line would be fun, maybe for a seasonal event. We all need S.O.B. titles.

I find it very weird you don't hardly see any kids or kids with families. I hope one of these days they add them.
