Pfft, we all know that in a game without gear swapping or fights that are anything other than tank-n-spank/kite-n-fight that there's only going to be one best in slot weapon for each class so there's really no incentive to keep flooding players with level 50 weapons if it weren't for people enjoying the aesthetics.
You know, I prefer it the way it is presently. Maybe S.E. should alleviate issues regarding mages in active mode instead.
And it's people liking how DoM gear/weapons currently that we'll never have nice things.
What staff is this, and what are the other stats to it?
You know the +40 / -20 stat weapons they added in the dungeons? It's the WHM one.

Like the magic crit with - magic attack acc.
Sure you can counter it with some rings, but now your still losing stats that you could have had added to.
I personally would like it if we could still get the MP regen with our weapons out so long as we weren't moving or attacking. Wouldn't that solve the issue?
I don't want to get into a gear argument, but as a healer, you don't really need Magic Acc. Compared to all of CON/WHM's current weapon choices, it's the best. Hence best in slot.
I don't doubt that at least one of these new weapons is going to be more useful. Then THAT will be best in slot, furthering my argument that the only reason people will be wearing other gear will be for aesthetic choices.

Comparison, take any mage weapon and compare to another. They all have crappy stats or some kind of bonus we don't use on it.
Moogle weapon MP proc on melee and has what 20 Macc?
Vintage Cudgle unslotted has more Mag acc.
Ifrit weapon has ok Magic attack potency, but has extra damage on melee attack. WHHHHYY!? Why can't ad more fire attack potency by a %.

What DoM need is a WS again
We need a reason to take out our staves. I'm so annoyed that we can't show them! URGH damn you SE for not satisfying my need to show my epeen on these great looking weapons ;-;
I said that in the context of a WHMs role in a party, where you generally won't be nuking or sleeping. That doesn't mean a CNJ's nuke and sleep spells are useless though, because they're fundamental when it comes to other situations, like soloing.
As far as your weapon examples, not every weapon can be the best. This goes for any class. You asked for a best in slot weapon though which is why Chiran Zabran's Tempest was pointed out. It's the best in slot for a healing/buffing role.
1)they used to (There was really no good reason to remove them, all weapons used by mages in XI still had weapon skills and there were at least rare cases when they could come in handy)
2) we're asking that we be able to (and you do regain MP, but from refresh effects only), not saying that it's the way things are at the moment.

Frankly, I think refresh effects should be made way better and have the regular MP recovery only apply when entirely not in combat. (eg not have hate on anything).

Even in early FF games, WHMs were at a minimum very powerful against undead/demons. in XI, they weren't powerful against anything. White magic is mostly aligned with good, it's not necessarily all about healing, it's also about smiting unholy beings. I'm tired of people saying that WHM and CNJ (especially CNJ itself) shouldn't have offensive magic.

I know that they use to have WS but they dont now. so they dont have them like i said. But to this post yes Whm is the Undead smiting master so it should have banish to do that ill never understand why they didnt give them this.
2 things they should do about this.
1. Make cnj/thm auto attack be ranged attacks.( Can they make it so the ranged attack is visible otw to the target.)
2. Make cnj/thm mp regen as the same as in passive. I'm sure mages wouldn't be OP this way cause you wont gain mp when solo cause when mobs are attacking you, you only get the 3 mp per tic regen from passives. So it works like this stand still with weapon out get mp back as long as you don't have flashing red hate.
I had a 3rd one but it slipped my mind so ill add it later lol >_>.
