With the coming of the next Expac announcement presumably in February, I think it best time to start compling our wishlist for the coming changes. What do you guys want in 6.0 and what are your biggest fears about the coming expac?
Honestly, after how good the story in Shadowbringers was, I'm having trouble imagining how they'll manage to live up to expectations using what we've been presented with so far; moreso because this is going to be the grand finale for the story arc that's been going on for the past several years meaning the bar has been raised even higher.
Hopes: Viera and Hrothgar get more hats.
Chemist, Geomancer, Beast Master and or Sage °become FULL job classes.
Astrologian's card system and Scholar's lack of Eps and Selene usage are both fixed.
More things to do in Gold Saucer with more prizes
More Inventory space, retainer inventory space, housing indoor and outdoor inventory space, more saddle bag inventory space, more glamour dresser inve story space QND glamour plates
Fears: Monk becomes a mangled mess.
More Limited Job Classes
No overall inventory space increase
Whole-heartily agree. The ShB storyline was amazing. All I TRUELY want for XIV, is to continue to tell a great story. Even though this is an MMO, its still a JRPG at heart, and I want it to continue to be what makes it great.
Besides that, of course I want a 4th healer, Im a healer main, and I want to finally play something else for a change from the same 3.
Then I guess Ill say I hope for FemHroth too.
My only fears are...the story starts to suffer and the content starts to get mediocre (like not even have one thing to look foreword to) and
Off the top of my head
Hopes:
New interesting jobs (I have my mains already but I always like at least seeing new things coming to the table)
New interesting areas to explore (as a huge FF4 fan the idea we may end up going to the moon really excites me)
A return to more dungeons or otherwise or, at the least, the bunch of new dungeons we get at the start of an expansion
A conclusion to the FF14 story (not that I want the game to go away but we've been basically on the same story track since day 1 and dragging it out too much longer will only hurt things)
Unlikely, but a combination of all 3 companion systems we already have in the game into a more complete and cohesive system with continued progression
Pie in the sky, but a character customization upgrade with new, improved character models
Fears:
My main jobs getting changed for no real reason just to add new stuff according to the higher level cap (the dev team has a long history of doing this)
Zenos and the Garleans being the overall big bads again.. again.. again... (now that we've had even more tastes of real, interesting villains Zenos and the Garleans stick out even more)
New systems and content types being added that completely invalidate or overrule older ones instead of just improving and integrating with what we already have (the dev team also has a long history of doing this too)
I hope we will get more glamour dresser space.
I fear we will not.
Some of these hopes and fears will be fairly interconnected; may get repetitive, so do pardon me on that front, but here goes.
Hopes:
- They are able to continue to push the boundaries in story-telling, or at the very least can keep to the level seen in the current expansion.
- I don't do raiding to such a degree, but I would really like to see a third ultimate for the given expansion, it'd be nice to see this go in line with the savage tiers so that the gear has a consistent use beyond logging and leniency of mistakes.
- I do hope to see another caster, not sure which but I'd really like to delve more into casting as I once did in HW.
- Maybe a little spoiler-y, but I do hope they find a nice way to give those who have been struck by 'our' hand; Ascians and co. One nice great sendoff to them all as it concludes this arc.
- Some of the mechanics incorporated into Bozja, I do hope to make their way into the open-world aspects of the game, give that a little flourish!
- Make gemstones have more use beyond common materials. Make them worthwhile. I feel like maps have rendered a good portion of these materials moot to farm via gemstones (skins being more expensive than leathers)
- I would like to see them actually explore a little more with Limited Jobs, I'd be very interested to see them actually just go to the level cap, but on the other hand, completing content on BLU like raids does not yield loot; forfeiting it. Maybe a lot of people disagree here.
- With exploration mode, I would love to see the sightseeing log get expanded to dungeons too.
- I would like to see a lot more effort put into the character development, and I don't mean a complete overhaul, but basics like hairstyles available across all races, and character poses, streamline that a little more, and just overall a little more variance in features such as lips. Give me the lips from my fishfin onto my main. DAMMIT!
- Instead of them trying to solve the housing issue, I would love for them to just expand on the features and functionality of apartments. Allow a 2nd floor, and give a small gardening area for growing things.
Fears
- They rework the crafting system for the umpteenth time. Please, give it a rest.
- They get more 'clever' ideas regarding the gathering system. Why on earth was integrity even added in the first place? Gathering Attempts wasn't shiny enough? despite the fact it is still referenced in characteristics and Solid Reason/Ageless Words.
- I hope we don't go back to Stormblood levels of villainy, and storytelling. Stormblood felt less like a liberation to me, and more of just us 1 upping Zenos. Let's not do that again, especially after the levels seen in ShB.
- They actually consider delaying the raid tier without delaying crafted gear. Delay them both!
-
My hopes :
- A new healer job
- More glamour plates
My fears :
- More Zenos and Fandaniel.
Hopes:
-caster job that uses darkness, e.g. time mage or necromancer
-revamp of character customisation and high res texture upgrade
-I don't play healer but I could be tempted if they add an interesting one, again one using darkness to deviate from the others a little... or perhaps something like apothecary or geomancer
-something to make dungeons more fun to go through... they just feel like they're there for advancing the story and little more at this point, and yet for their no doubt significant resource cost, surely they could be used in more fun ways?
-less waste on features that see little use... generally, just focus on efficient resource deployment
-if they can justify the cost, male viera (just not femboy type) and female hrothgar
-strong conclusion to the story of the ancients (including how they deal with the sound, Hydaelyn and the "remember us" theme and the Convocation)
-cool new story arc, maybe picking up from one of the trails left by the current arc (the "sound" has the potential for it)
-return of 24 man FLs over 72 man.
Fears:
-story will continue to feel rushed and a little ad hoc; 5.0 was strong but the patches have not left a good impression on me, and some of it looks like they're altering the story as they progress to whatever gets the most social media traction, forgetting social media is at best a minority of their playerbase... I found the way they handled the WoD title particularly disappointing and misleading
-they drop the whole "remember us" arc of the ancients
-they throw in some silly get out of jail rationalisation for Hydaelyn effectively shattering the star and/or some stupid "the ancients did it to themselves" cries of the planet arc
-related to the above, failure to replace the Ascians and Garleans with equally intriguing antagonists... and also not returning to the subject of the sound that was behind Amaurot's fall
-minimal new features, fewer jobs (take it down to one or none), less work on existing jobs, uninteresting new abilities
-Yes, more Zenos and Fandaniel... really have no desire to see more of them, even now. Or at least have Fandaniel take over until he inevitably dies, and just write out the snorefest that is Zenos... at least that will make it less of a slog.
-more G'raha.
Hopes:
- Male Viera and Female Hrothgar for those that have been wanting them since the reveal.
- Fixes for most of the Viera and Hrothgar hat problems.
- Time Mage (i will never give up on this just because AST is a thing) and Chemist Classes.
- Possibly Beastmaster and Puppetmaster as Limited jobs (even if i don't like the concept i will take what i can get at this point lol).
- Blue Mage become a bit more relevant.
- Bard rework and physical ranged dps buffs.
- Black Mage getting a bit more to step out of the fire blizzard zone.
- Garlean Zone.
Fears:
- Zenos fandango for the 580th time.
- Story quality compared to Shadowbringers (it can go either way honestly, either it will be super good or it will have the same case as Stormblood being compared to Heavensward).
- Less content.
- Eureka pagos 2.0.
- Possibly a Scion going AWOL (kinda doubt though due to trust system but yeah).
Hopes:
- Necromancer, Time Mage and Beastmaster as new jobs.
- Additional character customisation options. Let us design a character to look like Snow from FFXIII, Basch from FFXII or Gladio from FFXV.
- Less focus on pandering to the vocal minority that flocks to Twitter and other social media sites.
- More engagement from community representatives right here on the official forum as well as a proper appeal/forgiveness system for bans dished out in exchange for minor offences.
- A focus on nuance and consequences in the main story, particularly in relation to the game's protagonists.
- Sympathetic antagonists to be allowed to live rather than be killed off. Other Final Fantasy titles had no issue allowing for it, so I don't know why FFXIV has a bizarre obsession with 'punishing' antagonists with death.
- More antagonist themed gear, hairstyles, paintings. minions and so on.
Fears:
- Zenos and Fandaniel continuing to overstay their welcome.
- Story continues to become increasingly contrived. Such as with more time travel elements and a lack of meaningful consequences for anyone but the antagonists.
- No dialogue options to tell the likes of G'raha and Alisae to back off whenever they get obsessive over the Warrior of Light.
- An unsatisfying conclusion to the story surrounding Garlemald, the Ancients and Zodiark.
Hopes:
Sharlayan as the new city.
We get to meet Alphinaud and Alisae's parents.
Comedy scene where Alphinaud bumps into the girls he tried to impress with his artistic skills.
Awesome scene where the Forum and all the of Archons come together to find a way to fix the Sound.
Secret light themed WoL or Ascian/creation magic Azem job unlocked as a part of the MSQ.
Garlean Legatus or Archadian Judge job that uses Garlean gunblades, can cast ceruleum magic like Regula's blue firey lion and use laws.
Summoner gets new egis.
Garlemald gets a good restoration storyline.
If we get six zones and one of those zones is either the center of the world or the moon, that means we could have 5 other zones exploring Ilsabard. I know Thavnair is out of the way, but I'd like to visit it. I think 7.0 onwards is going to be about going to the New World and Meryacdia and other shards, so if we're ever going to go to Thavnair I think this might be our only chance.
On the same note, it'd also be cool to be able to visit the ancestral homelands of the races in the games. Like Aerslaent, the island the Limsa Lominsans came from. Or some Hellsguard Roegadyn villages up in the mountains. Or those islands just off the southern coast of Aldenard where the Plainsfolk Lalafell came from.
I'd like to see Gosetsu again but I don't know if he will come back this expansion or go adventuring with us in the New World or Merycadia.
Fears:
Zenos eats Zodiark, or is eaten by Zodiark. Turns into a godmonster final boss.
The final boss is a godmonster (pls don't let the Sound turn into Lavos which we fight, just let it be a problem we fix using knowledge and our allies).
Garlemald is just a dungeon like Ala Mhigo.
The Eorzean Alliance destroys Garlemald and then walks away, leaving it a broken wreck, without addressing the underlying problem (Garleans can't use magic which is an objective disadvantage, and they are stuck in the mountains, which isn't fertile land). So it's just going to be WW1 where the Allies defeated Germany and walked away leaving it a mess without fixing anything, only for the inevietble to happen in the next generation.
Voice quality won't be consistently good due to ongoing lockdown. We've already seen this problem in 5.4, where the preestablished characters sounded good because the actors already knew their roles, but the newly voiced characters didn't sound good.
hopes:
- DRK rework of conflicting mechanics like blackblood and delirium and a restoration of his fast paced real MP managment tank identity + mechanics like darkside and living shadow aporting something to the gameplay and not being a decoration.
- healers and tanks gameplay getting enchanced, deshomogenitazed to a degree and a increment of the skill floor so both roles feel impactful again.
- viera and roghtgar headgear added, way more variety of hairstyles, female and male version of both races added.
- more battle content that last more than a week, more harder dungeons in both dificulty and number, better savage raids.
- increased the size of the dev combat team that take care of the jobs desing and fix issues to have more faster development and proper management of the 17 jobs + new ones properly and way more effective.
Fears:
- DRK stay as a WAR clone with inner delirium, useless ui elements (darkside gauge), no MP management and just only new fancy animations.
- tanks and healers even more simplified.
- viera at roghtbar added just a few hair options and no updates to the next expansion.
- more simplified battle content and brainless dungeons.
- the same amount of devs taking care of everything and take ages to fix anything related with the jobs like now but worse.
Hopes
- 6.0 isn’t the end of the game and that they create a new end of the world story line.
- That they confirm for 7.0 and beyond the final level cap will be 99 and they focus on ilevel after that.
- no squishes
- no changes other then new skills for my lovely BLM
- no changes to crafting, I finally got my rotation down for scripts and basically everything.
- more voice acting and longer cut scenes.
- story is better then shb. It was a good game, but the patches are..... interesting.
- let’s go to space.....lunar.....
- new mage class
- trusts, trust, trust, and more trusts.
Fears:
None of that happens or the opposite happens because of people’s “oppinions”
I have only one hope...
- Hildibrand is back! -
fears: No male viera, no new hats.
Hopes: none
Hopes : Just more of the same
Fears : Just more of the same
Hopes:
More story regarding the Ancients. (what was the sound, more on the convocation, what the original star was like etc.)
Rework a proper one this time of healers and dungeon mechanics for healers. (tl;dr - if you're gonna force us to heal, give us more to heal)
Fix Living Dead and make DRK more unique from WAR.
Harder normal content, or some HARD versions of dungeons.
A new deep dungeon.
Fears:
No changers to healers: AST card system, WHM's lack of identity, SCH's everything, and/or fixing how much down time we have.
New healer introduced either steals previous skills from current healers and/or ends up in the same state of current healers.
Another expansion with Zenos as the main antagonist. Just... if we're gonna go that route can it be a bit more interesting than SB's?
Hopes:
- The classes I play will expand rather than being reworked (they're fine in their current iterations methinks)
- The story will continue to be brilliant and full of heart and emotion. That the next expac will be another HW or SHB rather than another SB
- More emotes and glams that aren't locked behind MTX
- Even more varied dialogue options to allow more character expression.
- More usage of established characters. (merlwyb's usage in 5.4 is a good start.)
- More beautiful and varied zones. (Rather than having 3 generic deserts and an empty ocean like in some expacs)
- Hildebrand, Godbert, nashu etc will get a voice, even if only for a single cutscene.
Fears:
- Zenos will continue to be a horrible villain.
- Fandaniel will be a generic, mustache-twirling antagonist.
- They'll inexplicably bring back palpalymo for no reason.
- Classes will get unneeded reworks that completely change how they play for the worse.
- Nomura.
- With the success of shadowbringers, that square will decide to 'coast' for an expac, and half-ass the whole thing.
My fear is that Zenos will survive to see 6.0...
Hopes:
- More complexity in gameplay
- Better Dungeons
- Better Job-Identification and greater differences between jobs while still balanced
- Hildibrand
Fears:
- More oversimplifications in gameplay
- Same old shit
- Continuation of balancing in form of: every job plays just the same
- No Hildibrand
Hopes:
-A 3rd free retainer or a Materials tab.
-Healer changes. Surely they'll have to look at Piety too now a crafted ring is BiS, it should give damage similar to Tenacity.
-Some new content. Bozja wasn't new, it was this expansions Eureka. If we're losing Hildebrand, several dungeons, new race headgear, new class primal weapons and deep dungeons it'd be great to see something in return.
-Hildebrand.
-One week delay to Savage.
-More difficult crafts besides spamming hundreds of one item in a 10 day window for next to nothing and a dinosaur for wasting 500 hours. Expand on the expert system and make Master Recipes a challenge. The 4 star set this patch was a small step in the right direction, requiring good food and some HQ mats.
-More of the same. I like gearing in this game, it's consistent and time friendly unlike other MMO's that shove you onto a constant RNG treadmill. Good job there.
Fears:
-Healers unchanged. WhM still a clipping, immobile mess, SCH's pet still clunky, Piety still a near-worthless stat over a certain amount/when you have a boss on farm.
-Crafting easier than ever, Fishing heavily nerfed to "draw more players in".
-Bots still rampant and untouched.
-No extra inventory slots at all and hundreds more items and materials added.
-The dungeon system untouched, no mythic+ or hard mode, just another set of worthless facerolls to serve as chores for leveling or tomes.
-Even more content pruned instead of more added. No primal weapons at all for the new classes.
-Dps nerfed to match the current "complexity" of tanks and healers.
Hopes:
A re shuffle of many rotational required skills to lower levels so that they are imprinted into muscle memory much earlier
As above but with AOE skills for some DPS classes so that they can use them earlier to help with trash packs in MSQ/Dungeons
Upgrade CNJ/WHM Cure 1 to cure 2 and maybe add a smaller chance for a free cure by using cure 2 or change the freecure buff to chance to freecure using stone and or aero
More MSQ voice acting and the WoL to have more selectable "dialogue choices" or even better a voice.
Remove the god awful default mount speed on a new area and make the slightly faster version default, now that +speed via maps is redundant after you earn flying for the zone.
Fears
They dont allow more skills into the lower ranges and we get yet more spread out due to the new level ranges because for some odd reason they seem to think 5+ decent rotational/situational skills for the first 50 levels is somehow overwhelming to new players
A plot armour baddy knocks the WoL on its backside once again early into the expansion and we have to power up for the finale
Poorly placed quests that makes us go back and forth for fake time padding
Even easier dungeons than 5.0 that are short and uninspiring
Immediate: Egi Glamours
Blue Mage Unlimited
Crowd Control and Utility to all jobs where applicable.
Over patch cycle:
Glamour System overhaul. Equipment Log added.
Reassessment of older content, lowering maximum ilevel so old content is still relatively challenging.
Overhaul Castrum Meridanium and Praetorium, end the Zergfest and give the dungeons some legitimacy if I have to do it every day.
Fears:
Failure to properly assess job updates and needs.
Inability to top that increasingly delicious ShB storyline.
Hopes:
-More hrothgar and viera customization
-Ishikawa succeeding at making Zenos an interesting character
-Good conclusion to the ascian story
-New deep dungeon
-Glamour dresser expansion
-Another ward or two for all housing areas
-More Cid and Nero
-Going to where no one will predict before the reveal
Fears:
-Dungeon design staying like it is even for the optional dungeons
-New jobs being added in spite of the dull state of most existing jobs
-Nothing being done to make lv1~60 leveling less tedious due lack of actions/repetitive rotations becoming worse as new actions are added and older tiers are trimmed down yet again
-SE still won't increase budget meaning PvE content will still not be the same quality or quantity as pre Stormblood
-Another Diadem-like system
-Nothing new added to the open world
-Overworld design not improved from Shadowbringers
-6.0 story is 12 hour long at best when you exclude/skip cutscenes
-We don't actually go to Garlemald at all
It often feels to me the only reason Garlemald was kept after 2.0 is because Yoshida couldn't come up with a solid reason to wipe them off his vision for XIV, but they were super convenient for plot devices. I won't be very surprised if the way they wrap up Garlemald itself is not very satisfying.
Hope: FFXIV developers finally figure out exactly what they want healer gameplay to be and clearly spell it out to the playerbase.
Fear: They continue to have mixed messaging on said subject.
Hopes:
-We go back to being an actual MMORPG with more job diversity, enmity and TP management, classic FF elements being brought back (Protect, Shell, Stoneskin, etc)
-Less scripted fights, more engaging dungeons and group activities
-Support going from ranged DPS to Healers so they can actually feel impactful during a fight instead of just spamming 1 spell between healing
-Jobs get their fantasy back (things like Leeches/Exalted Detriment/Esuna) with less general "role abilities"
-AST gets its original card system back FOR THE LOVE OF THE MOTHERCRYSTAL
-SMN goes full summoner with maybe a summon rotation? Also less dots, more summons
-SCH gets at least Bane back, more Fairy abilities to spend the gauge on
-BLM freed from Ice/Fire rotation
-New territories to the West and Sharlayan, explore more of Hydaelyn
Fears:
-None of the above happens
-Zenos doesn't get obliterated and/or shot into space
-The Ascian story doesn't conclude
-Everything stays the same
My biggest fear is jobs and encounters getting more complicated than they already are but it's gonna happen.
I keep seeing people talk about how "braindead easy" it is playing a dps so the moron is me I guess.
I want to keep playing but not if it's going to stress me out.
My biggest hope is more fluid rotations, a good story and the missing genders for Hrothgar and Viera.
Hopes :
- Identity and fun gameplay are given back to healers, tanks.
- Complexity (not difficult) gameplay is back with Enmity as before, debuff actions, special action (used way more in SB than in ShB), and more for healers.
- Hildibrand return
- Focus on more battle contents (Deep dungeon, more optional and difficult dungeons, etc.)
- A 4th healer
- More communication from the dev team about the state of the jobs
Fears :
- No changes made to healers or are even worse than now
- Still too much focus on other contents as crafters, gatherers, Blue Mage.
- Again too much uncessary and not asked rework.
Hopes for 6.0: Fresh content, new zones, new mobs, new quests. Typical stuff that comes with a new expansion.
Fear: That the majority of fears I have read in this thread are more probable than the hopes.
The Biggest Hope for 6.0
https://i.redd.it/tbkohuxsksj51.jpg
WE GOING TO THE MOON. Yes, THAT MOON THAT ELIDIBUS STOOD ON.
My Biggest Fear for 6.0
The Legendary 7th Fell Cleave will become real.
Hopes:
AST is returned to more of how it worked in SB
Actually Healing in general is returned to that phase
We get a new Healing Job
We finally go to Islabard and remove the clouds on the world map
They keep the interesting story direction and nuance of ShB and it is not just SB 2.0 even with Zenos being present
More Hairstyle options for Viera and more hats being made available to wear
An increase in storage space, both inventory, saddle bag, and retainer space
Also an increase in the number of glamour items you can store and the number of glamour plates you can have
Garlean style glamour and gear, we got Ascian style gear for Hereos gauntlet, this has been a feature many have wanted for years.
Some more Alt friendly system, some of us do have alternate characters to see things as a different race, gender, roleplay experience, be on a different server etc.
Maybe some more customization options for existing races
That we go back to how dungeons were released in SB with 2 one patch and 1 another, allowing more diversity in the expert roulette
It hopefully still releasing in summer, maybe July, and shortening the gap between 5.5 and 6.0 that we usually see with the X.5 patches and the new expansion with maybe them delaying the first raid series by a bit longer to get it out though I am more understanding of delays here due to our current situation
Fears:
No new healer again
Healing is butchered even more
That it is not Islabard even though they have been hinting at it for 2 expansions now and all the recent story points heavily imply it, nothing else makes narrative sense right now. I am not ruling out Sharlyan i just feel it will be a single hub like Hingashi but with the story prominence of Ishgard.
That all of the nuance and storytelling genius present with ShB is gone and it is just SB 2.0
That Zenos absorbs Zodiark's power and becomes the final boss instead of it being Zodiark who we know has the original Elidibus as his heart.
That the Capitol of Garlemald is just Ala Mhigo 2.0 (never forget Ala Mhigo just being a dungeon) and also dungeon with it never being explorable again despite its prominence in the story and looks as boring as it did in the cutscenes. you can make parts of it rich and gaudy and more like the Prima Vista and still explain away that those areas that we saw where poorer districts, Victorian London had different districts with more poorer smog ridden districts on one side and more gaudy well kept richer districts on another
No new hairstyles for Viera or no new headgear being made to work with them
Another expansion with no Inventory size increases, SB did it and I was disappointed ShB did not
No new Glamour storage and plate number increases as well
That we stay at one dungeon per patch (Amnesis Anyder became really annoying on expert roulete)
We are already on Ilsabard. Gangos and Bozja are on Ilsabard. Granted we still have the map covered by clouds, but we have already set food on Ilsabard.
I think Terncliff is on Ilsabard as well. But I've seen both that and Gyr Albania. The regions are linked there so the confusion makes sense, but I think Ilsabard is more likely.
Bojza I believe is in Orthard, and yes i believe Ternclif is in it but mainly what I mean is in Islabard but I mean full on explorable zones there and for the clouds to finally be removed, this would also be adding the Dalmascus map we saw at the end of the Ivalice raid series as well as seeing where Bojza and Ternclif are, mainly finally seeing the completed map of the three continents ever since we saw Islabard covered in clouds leading up to SB i knew it would be very important, that is why i want it to be the location for 6.0, i really cant agree with anything else at this point.
Hopes?
Female Hrothgar as PCs.
New updated engine.
Fears?
That will have to deal with this lame ass villain who just wants to murder-suicide the world and this delusional murder hobo..
No Bozja is in Ilsabard. The only part of Othard we haven't really explored is the northern section. So the Bozjan "Southern" Front, which we know is along a coast doesn't make much sense otherwise. That and the storyline states it on the southern eastern tip of Ilsabard. It is relatively close to Dalmasca, which is on Othard though.
Also to add to what you have said there are 5 continents. The 3 main, and then the "new world" and Meracydia.
Hopes: 2H DPS option, a wizard hat that will fit my head.
Best Wishes
-Reyketi
Hopes
Fears
- A dedicated UI window for managing Egi glamours, completely replacing the need for text commands.
- Actual Egi glamours (such as Ramuh-Egi) finally being implemented.
- Unlocking further Egi glamours through dedicated quests/solo instances ("austerities").
- Removing "Summon II" (i.e. Topaz Carbuncle/Titan-Egi) as a summon command, thus giving its shield skill to ACN/SMN directly.
- Renaming "Summon I" and "Summon III" to "Summon Caster" and "Summon Attacker" respectively.
- Allowing ACN/SMN to summon both types of pets (i.e. caster and attacker) at earlier levels, preferably Lv.15.
- Either improving "Physick" so it scales to INT (like RDM's "Vercure") or replacing it with something else through a trait (like an "Everlasting Flight" on demand).
- Replacing/consolidating ACN/SMN's "Energy Drain" with "Energy Siphon" through a trait (damage potency 100 to first enemy and damage potency 40 to all enemies nearby).
- Alphinaud becoming a SMN and being able to summon Shiva-Egi.
- Introducing more Trust companions (such as Arenvald and Fordola).
- Travanchet returning in a major role.
- Beastmaster limited job.
- Actual Egi glamours (such as Ramuh-Egi) delayed YET AGAIN.
- No (significant) changes being done on SMN at all.
- Garlemald still being around.
- Hydaelyn/Zodiark arc not being resolved by then.
Hopes:
1) At very least the levels 1-50 experience gets revamped on gameplay.
Not necessarily story or maps. but SKILLS. Enough with the needless restrictions on skills like DRG AoE. Dragoons can feel pretty useless on content below 45 because they get AOE only after..because who knows why..you shouldnt feel annoyed seeing someones job on dungeon.. (ie: "ok we have DRG..guess no wall to walls this run..)
Sorry for comparision but in WoW you get quite bit of skills early on. Some of those skills were probably added in newer expansions but are accessed at early levels so they can get used to it faster. None of this "yeah theres huge quality of life skill at 71 that makes your job way better"..or "heres totally new resource you have to worry now after 50 levels!"
2) Combine some of the older systems into one. Like Cross-world LS, LS, Fellowships.. make it just Linkshell that can hold more than few people it does now. Also add some cool retainer-like-ventures to squadron missions. For glams (even if untradable!) and whatnot.
3) New healer! New caster!
4) New quest-types other than "interact with sparkly thing, return sparkly thing to NPC" and "interact with purple smoke, fight bad stuff, return to npc".
5) Fates being revamped slightly or massively. I loved how Guild Wars 2 did their world events, and its one of that games strongest points. Lot of event-chains, decent rewards at all levels so you dont end up with "dead FATE maps" so often.
For example there was map which was one massive event-chain where you escort NPCs from start to world boss. between those you had smaller events where you had to split raid between them. It was really fun "commanding" that map and teaching people everything. There was at least 25-50 people per three "lanes". There was also dailies that were like "Do 3 events in map X" and it brought life to the map for that day. I mean, its better than no one doing them.
Fears:
1F) We will still be running Crystal Tower "raids" for 360 days with one Void Ark, because people would rather do 15 mins of pressing 3 buttons with no real danger, than 30 min alliance raid where you press 4 buttons and might "die"
2F) We still cant use armoire for anything real.. let us use it for for raid gear. Or even lvl 60/70/80 artifact gear like its meant to be used..
3F) XVI takes most of the dev-resources.
4F) See hopes 1 but its opposite.. they remove skills from ranges like 1-50 and add new ones instead to 81-90.
