can you at least stop gifting headgears in events ?! and exchange them with something that all races can use :3 maybe? no not asking for the impossible ( to make viera/horthgar able to wear hats )...

i did use this even as an example but it's not mainly why i made this thread , my point is events/prizes shouldn't include any headgears anymore because it exclude 2 races and it's not fair . or at least they should compensate us with items that only these 2 races can get like head crowns, masks or flowers only for viera/horthgar so it becomes fair for everyone

At this point I think most people should have realized that virtually any hat or headgear that would normally completely cover a player's head will not be compatible with Hrothgar and Viera. I understand the frustration, but thus far it seems like devs have no interest in suddenly changing their designing process of new headgear to either deny the older races of new hat/headgear options in leu of only designing hairpins, glasses and headbands that seem to be the new races' only real options, or putting any real priority in researching the magic solution to all of XIV's issues by unlocking all headgear options to the new races. /sarcasm.

There haven't been any new hairstyles (or faces) over halfway into this expansion cycle for Hrothgar and Viera in the very expansion they debuted in. IMO that signifies a deeper underlying concern for these races that goes beyond "not being able to model a number of new head pieces." Though I don't think it's going to be of the level of "vaporware" that new egis are, I take that as either an indicator that its low on their list of priorities, or they're "saving" it as particular timing for filler or... something at a later date. -and that's not me being optimistic, I swear.

As far as this Heavensturn kabuto goes; as already pointed out, it's basically tradition at this point. -And that tradition is to be a borderline-silly animal zodiac-themed kabuto that nobody really wants to continue wearing after a week or two into the year or seriously glamour. Maybe more people would give it a second look if there were traditional plated or leather samurai armor to compliment them, but alas, even SAMs themselves seem to rarely even get that luxury...

It doesn't have to exclude the 2 races but they do. They can't wear head crowns, your thinking of circlets btw. It blows my mind that new items can't be made those 2 races because headgear fits into a group category so until that whole category gets changed to fit them they can't wear them at all.

As others have said, ugly as sin and will never be used, but also completely expected and tradition at this point. Not even a fan of the table top item either this time around but I've long come to have very low expectations of the Heaven's Turn event.

Have they ever made like a viera variant for any headgear? I mean completely unique to fit their head? Because unless they can somehow fit around the ears I don't think Viera can ever expect to have it.

I actually like the hats...

The shiba one is really cute.
And my FC is working on a group glamour with the Usagi Kabuto where the tanks make glamour using the black one, the healers use the white one, and the DPS use the regular (red) one.

I must be the odd man out here. I use the sheep helm as part of my SAM gamlour

I once saw someone using the horse head helm to make cosplay glam based on Sagittarius from Fairytail, I thought it worked out quite well.

I've never seen someone on the JP servers where any of these hats ever. I don't think they're a popular item with the JP community either.

Kind of wish they would go all out and do something with real energy to bring in 2021 too. Given all 7+ billion humans are so over with 2020.

I don't think they should stop giving hats for events, there's more races that can use them than those that can't, but it is a bit disappointing every time for sure.

Can't say I'm too broken up about not being able to use these though, I never really liked the Heavensturn helmets either.

The helmets aren't too popular (I do seem them used occasionally) but I get why they want to keep doing them. I wish they'd just do a bit more beyond that and kinda niche housing items. The year we got the sheep minion was my favourite and this year would have been a good time to give us a buffalo mount since it's the closest thing we have to an Ox and I'll be surprised if it least one doesn't feature in the event.

Money coming in from the Mogstation directly goes back into 14.
It's your sub goes into supporting other SQEX projects (like Avengers).

Maybe they should just delete viera at this point.

It was a gimmick race and it was clearly specified that they can’t wear hats but now all the grown men that rolled them so they can run around in bikinis are spamming the forum every few days about hats.

Just get rid of them, easy fix.

No it doesn't.

When they first added the shop Yoshi-P gave some examples of things they could do with the money. Somehow over the years that has morphed into "yoshi-p said the mog money goes straight into the devs hands" but they've never actually said that.

"It supports the devs" is the oldest trick in the book for getting people to spend in cash shops.

I didn't hate Avengers, it was a title that came out too early. The biggest issues I had was the "Duty Finder", lack of end game, and people not understand that it was a loot game. Most groups I joined had people making a V line straight to the objective without exploring to get better gear.

Heavensturn is something I rarely event pay attention to. Honestly I understand its a big thing in some cultures, but in my years of gaming i've seen very few people actually look forward to this event, or the event rewards as well. I could be wrong could be a smash hit on the Japanese data centers....

And not even getting the Halloween event this year put a sour taste in my mouth.

I do think we could use another event or 2 overall in the game. There is plenty of stuff out there that could be fun, one idea in mind is the International Talk Like a Pirate Day....its a real thing....I mean we even have a quest called, it could be pirates.....

Ah well....more headgear I can't wear, nor care to get. Maybe Valentiones day and little ladies day will have neat stuff.....

It's my least favourite seasonal event, mostly because the rewards just usually aren't something I'd use.

Lol I actually agree... It's good to be consistent with the idea throughout the years but these helmets are ugly as sin and I've also never seen ever since I joined in Heavensward anyone glamming them.

Maybe it's time for a change? They can even use that meta narrative in game to change the reward to something else. Still with the zodiac animal theme, but not an ugly helmet.

I know the helmets being ugly is one thing but imagine them being ugly and not even having the satisfaction of trying it on when you finish the event questline. Doing this event on my hroth had literally no point >.>

Weirdly enough, that's how a lot of non-USA people feel about Halloween. I don't think much would be lost if they removed both of these festivals.

Ugly helmets for one, and a weird pumpkin fetish for the other. I could be wrong could be a smash hit for USA people...

Yeah, thats a better idea. If you don't like it, don't participate, but please don't think to dictate your culture is the one and only, and your holidays are the only ones the game should have.

Its only next year left and then we're done right? so maybe we'll get somethin more interresting then...

In terms of kabuto helmets, they likely will start giving something else once the 12 years cycle is over. Still some time before it happens though, so... stay strong. As for helmets issue in general, I suspect we can pretty much expect nothing in 5.X at this point. 6.0? Well, maaaybe. Would be good if they finally give something for Viera and Hrothgar. I don't expect them to have all helmets in the game available, but at the very least they should be able to use unlockable haircuts, especially those from Mog Station.

Non-USA player here and yes, that's true at least for me. I like the event itself because the story behind it is usually pretty funny, and clothes&decorations are normally cute, but I don't care for the holiday itself because it's not a thing where I live. Same for Christmas actually, but given that Christmas and New Year are pretty close to each other in dates, this event, at least, is interchangeable and has almost identical mood to it..

Wish I took a Screenshot, but our Paladin Tank in a Tsykiomi (I know I botched that name) Wolf Mount Farm was rocking it with some purple dye and the Moon Weapons.
So I know there are people out there that use it, but it likely wont be alot.

That would be nice. Heavensturm is the one event I literally couldn't care less about. We usually get the same fate with the same lackluster glamours. I know it's supposed to follow a tradition but you never see anyone with the helmets. Maybe they're more popular in JP...

I was in Tokyo in October of 2019, and I saw some pretty cool Halloween displays in a few places. It's not as big as it is in the US, but it does have some presence there.

Honestly I enjoyed the little Fate. I have put it on for now, for my FSH to wear around town and also my SAM. But yes it probably won’t get much use. This is just a small holiday though.

With regards to viera, I can’t see it’s a big deal. Barely anyone wears the hat and viera players generally are image conscious, I doubt they’d want something traditional like this in the main.
