Where are the new FATEs?
Can we level faster with them?

You don't even have to step into Boja to do the relic step. Gangos yes. Bojan no. Also so far each step is fairly easy. 2k poetics. 60 fates in HW areas as you need 20 of 3 different items and then 6 runs of any lv60 dungeons the go to right now seems to be Antitower spam. Which you'd know if you actually spent time doing a search on the forum or a Google search instead of making a post asking and then out right dismissing it just because you think it's a grind in an instanced zone.
Trololol this is bait. Has to be. Pls. Pls tell me this is bait.
Yeah..you might be kinda new to the whole Relic thing.
See, when 2.0 came out, certain groups of players complained that there was no "endgame thing" to work towards, so they added the first round of Relics (Excalibur, etc). It was a substantial grind because, well, that's what the player base wanted.
Of course, they released similar-but-different variations of this for 3.0, 4.0 and now 5.0 is getting "part 2" of what will probably be 4-5+ steps.
If you don't want or like grinding it... don't. There are other ways to get weapons that will be near to these in power and very often these are best-in-slot only the patch they release. (There is usually a pattern where it's something like Relic -> Raid, likely Eden Savage -> Relic -> Crafted or Tomestone -> Relic again.)
I've only just done Excalibur in 5.0 because I could 1-man blitz it..so it's not like you NEED a relic to do any casual content.
It's an option for people who don't want to do higher level content, want weapon glamours, want something that's decently viable before the next content drop, etc. If it doesn't seem appealing to you then don't do it. Not every piece of content in this game needs to be played by everyone.
Once they're finished the relic tends to be BiS for many jobs until around 5-6 levels into a new expansion. And again you don't have to do them. So they last for a good amount of time. The current step makes them even with the highest ilv you can get for a weapon which again is only as good until the next raid teir when the ilv will go up again. Which for now will be some time early December.
If you're this upset about something you don't have and is fairly easy to do compared to similar things in the past then oh boy do I have news for you. That's how the whole game is.
Go back to wow if you prefer it. Oddly enough my friends list and FC list is full of people doing the new Borzan Southern Front and the new relic update. Even A rank hunt trains have been put on hold by many leaders due to low attendance and the fact they want to do the new content themselves.
One thing for sure the devs can't make everyone happy and if you prefer another game well then play it.
I'll add if you haven't tried it you might find it's fun. Did the new Castrum today with some friends and it's pretty sweet and definately has a BA feel to it and we haven't even gotten to the new BA which is coming in a later patch.
People complain they want something different and they get it then they complain about it as well. Definitely not a win win for developers. On the other hand there are many like me who are thrilled with the new content.
Starts thread throwing blame for being uninformed.. gets informed then calls the content trash... continues to tell other people what they should enjoy..
Huh... Yeah.
If this isn't a troll, it's one of those "Dreaded WoW Players Ruining Our Community!!111!!!!!1one" that I've heard so much about, but never actually encountered.
No one is being duped. Veteran players already know the general system and that information is available online for new players who are interested.
You have the option to do the content or not do it as you choose.
I'm not doing it yet myself. I could care less about getting a weapon massively overloaded with pointless special effects that isn't necessary for the content I tend to do. I'm sticking to other things I enjoy more. I'll get in there eventually for the sake of seeing the story but I won't stick around ro grind out anything beyond the minimum needed to progress the story.
The same option applies to you. If you decide you're not getting enough content here, go ahead and return to WoW until there is more content added here that you are interested in. There's no law saying you can't play and enjoy both games.
I guess not you; which makes this a you problem.
It's merely content not made for you, simple. Others enjoy it. Sorry you're upset about it, though. But honestly...if you don't like it, just don't do it.
I mean, unless you're trolling; which I'm starting to believe you are.
Yeah I'd actually agree with this if Boring Korean Grinder MMO Instance Simulator wasn't taking more and more development time and resources away from the rest of the content with each expansion they invest into it.
If I wanted to farm field mobs for 500 hours I could do it without paying a sub.
Yes, the relics are only relevant for a short time.
No, they are not for players like you, but those that enjoy the grind/want something semi-long term goal wise to do alone or with friends.
Some people, not myself, enjoy grinding these things. All the more to them.
Relics are, have always been, and will always be, glam. Sometimes for a VERY short time they are better than other items, but they are glam. Their purpose is to give you something to spend time on between patches. See:ARR relic, capable of taking 30-40 hours for each job's weapon, and in the end it was only 5 ilevel above augmented ironworks. Admittedly the customized substats could do interesting things to what counted as optimal, but none the less relics are glam and side content to keep you busy, not really a 'work for this to get a weapon upgrade' stuff.
A lot easier to accept it when you realize that it's just putting time in to get a shiny thing. Also, that HW WHM weapon, mmmmm. Simple, shiny, glowy.
OP reaks of Titanman. This is ether yet another new character by the same person or a copycat.
I've been exclusively using the relics as the weapon for all jobs since they were introduced. I don't feel duped.
I took a break from raiding, so I don't have a static to get the Eden weapons. Sure I COULD do the extreme trials... but then I don't like doing learning parties in PF... and a 485 weapon was fine. It wasn't the best, but it was sufficient for the content I was doing. And now being a 500 weapon with 5 materia slots, this weapon will be comparable to the Eden weapon because of the added substats and is something I can complete solo.
Different pieces of content are aimed at different players. The relic is for people who want to do more casual content as opposed to more hardcore content. It also tends to be for the more solitary player as its usually something you can complete entirely solo or in duty finder. Bozja was content aimed at people who enjoy the grind that was brought to the game in Eureka and wanted more of it. It's not content for everyone, very few pieces of content in this game are.
"If you don't like it, don't do it" was last expansion's line.
We're already out Deep Dungeons, an Ultimate, and a dungeon per patch this expansion because the Korean Grinder Simulator needs even more polish time.
This is actively detracting from content I enjoy.
Hey guys, there's a pandemic goin' on.
The extra dungeon I admit I miss too (though we're only behind one dungeon every other patch. Stormblood did two in even patches and one in odd) since it makes you get sick of every dungeon faster since they stick around expert roulette longer and come up more frequently.
But we're not really out an ultimate unless they confirmed there will not be one in 5.4 We got two of those in Stormblood and so far one in Shadowbringers.
Still out that extra dungeon per patch, AND Deep Dungeons, which I occasionally enjoy as a challenge.
As I've said elsewhere, if I wanted to bash my face against field mobs for 500 hours to get single-digits of decent drops along with a bunch of garbage in my inventory there's an overflowing glut of free Korean MMOs I could be actively boring myself with, no sub fee required.
I'm utterly against a max-level corral filled with a bunch of crap that largely only works inside the Korean MMO Simulator. This is not content I want to see FF14 producing.
Well they have reason to start limiting the amount of dungeos they add. And as for Deep Dungeon, they'd need to revamp the formula a bit before they add a new one in since PotD and HoH are basically the same thing just different levels. If they added another it would just be more of the same and people would complain. Merging the Eureka style content and deep dungeon concept was a smart move. It still needs work but compared to Eureka has been well received.
My mistake, I wasn't aware that farming field mobs for hundreds of hours to get largely useless garbage items with the occasional chance of something great was "nothing" like a Korean MMO. That's so completely different.
I was around for both OG Heavensward versions of Diadem and the Yokai Watch event. Spending hundreds of hours farming FATEs is boring. I'm not a fan of yet more development time being poured into grindy field mob farming. I've been bored out of my skull every single time I've touched content in this game that boils down to "Farm hundreds of FATES for fun!". I have no reason to believe the latest iteration of FATE Farmer 2020 will wow me.Quote:

If it takes you hundreds of hours to do Bozja, you're doing it completely wrong. I've farmed it casually and gotten one relic done, gotten enough clusters to get the new haircut, gotten Bozjan armor, and reached rank 12. Stop spewing lies about things you know nothing about. If you don't like the content, just say that. Don't lie and compare it to a Korean MMO when it's nowhere close.
Would also add, it’s not like we sacrificed a new deep dungeon/additional dungeon per patch for anything in particular.
The devs have been perfectly clear that they want fresh/different content..and have said with the current bloat of dungeons it’s just not necessary to have so many more for the sake of having so many more. Thus, they feel the current patch cycle allows enough dev time to try other ambitious projects like the trust system.
People like you who regularly say “omg I hate this I can’t believe we lost a dungeon/deep dungeon for this new thing” are the same ones who would complain “omg these new dungeons are just the same old thing, why can’t you give us something new”
Personally, I’m all for anything new/interesting. I have never touched HoH and barely PotD. I do the “cap” series of dungeons only once each. I have barely even done Eureka and might not do Bozja... but I’m happy just having the knowledge if I should ever get bored I have the option to check those things out solo, on my own time.
So, can’t say if it’s good or not overall, but I for one am thankful for the options.
