Male Viera Request Thread

Basically just reasking the request for adding Male Viera at some point in the future.

Feel free to post pictures, artwork, discuss for or against their inclusion just keep it civil.

I mean there was a 1000 page long thread on this that appears to have been deleted. It didn’t get them put in but maybe this one will

They deleted the old one why do you think they want you to make a new one. The old one needed deletion given the convo this one won't be any different. And I might add if they had any intension of making the missing genders that work would have already started awhile ago.

Because even with the old thread gone, the request to add male Viera is still there and this thread is here to show that, it does no harm in requesting for something.

If they were going to work on them for 6.0 they would already be in the works by now but 7.0/8.0?(if game goes that far) Not for years will they be worked on and the request is here to show some people still want them to be added just like the female Hrothgar thread.

Take this thread as a fresh start to try and keep it closer to its sister thread of female Hrothgar which shows no harm in just requesting it.

If it goes in circles it goes in circles so long as it is on point about male Vieras, if it is for adding them or against so long as it is civil rather than name calling go nuts.

Also going to clarify this here, I won't be updating OP with any artwork or links, feel free to do that yourselves and I may do that later on but the OP is just there as it is to get the point across that people would like male Viera added. I won't be changing it to suit anyone's view of what they could like like even my own.

Yeah I agree, seems sorta moot at this point. Everyone has strong feelings for getting them added but it doesn’t stay civil for very long.

There is definitely a chilling effect on the possibility of a new thread, but I wonder whether people expect the threads about it to go away, or to improve. It was contained there, and will probably just be repeated, if with less vigor.

No purpose in a new male viera thread, bumping is against the forum guidelines, and unless you want those same circular arguments this thread would be as dead as the female hrothgar thread. Besides since the thread was deleted no male viera confirmed!

Male Viera is a very popular feature. If it brings support again can you really blame the people for supporting what they want? This one will most likely reach very high post counts again because that's what happens with popular features.
If iOS users were asking Apple for a feature with a camera that can see corona virus do you think it would not be popular and on fire? It's the same thing, you can't stop the male Viera train, until they say no.
Which they should've, they should've already decided if they can't add male Viera for the next expansion and just added it in a new "Letter from the producer" explaining why. If not, the request for this feature will balloon.

Having both genders for the two races will probably give some more issues to the two races. There's working out the hairstyles for both, which are already locked with facial attributes, and people complain about those enough. This would just double that making them have to work on hair styles for the opposite gender and facial features that would be locked as well.

Can you guys not argue about wither this thread needs to exist or not. If the mods have a problem theyll take it down, lets not have the same arguments here as the last thread.

That's an issue with hrothgar only. Removing the hair from the face is a much larger endeavor than making earholes for hats on Viera.
Honestly, I don't see the female Viera/male hrothgar hair issues as something that directly affects the inclusion of the missing genders. The hats/helmets already exist, it's more of a operations-based solution where they can say "Viera/Hrothgar will get new hats/helmets starting in 6.0, but not old ones." I just personally don't see the hats/helmet situation preventing a big selling feature like the missing genders.

Putting my support for male Viera again, and please lets just stick to support and fan art maybe this time.

Male Viera would be great. I wouldn't play one—maybe I would on an alt, but my main is staying the way she is—but I wholeheartedly support the option being there.

Let's keep this civil people, the last thread got deleted because debates got very heated and it went off-topic an incredible amount of times. Let's just show our love for our missing bunny men and leave it at that.

And yes I want male viera to come to the game. I absolutely adore my bunny girl and I would love all the bunny ladies to be able to get bunny husbands if they want to...or even become one themselves! Some of the male viera fan art is very impressive as well as the (unofficial yet official) concept art SE showed. If SE introduce something like that then I most certainly would make a male bunny alt to enjoy their awesomeness. I also know quite a lot of people who would fantasia their mains to male bunny.

I'll miss the almost 2k likes on the original thread :') I'll try to make some fanart for this one sometime soon! For now, here's one I posted in the old thread :)

Personally, I never cared for viera and I'd rather they not be included and the current customization system be reworked and made more in depth. But that's just my opinion.

Are you asking me? Because if so, I would be fine with that. If it meant a greater character customization system for all existing characters, then yes, no female Hrothgar either.

I ain't gonna let this be an out of sight out of mind thing. The problem ain't gone just cause you can't listen to complaints anymore. SE needs to finish what they started. We ditched these bad race/gender stereotypes with the rest of the 1.0 mistakes. A large part of why I joined in 2.0 was because they admited omitting male miqo'te, and female roegadyn and highlanders was a mistake.

That's what I'm saying though, a lot of you think they'll do a character creator upgrade because they didn't add male Viera. But what happens instead is they do nothing and just sell you MSQ and 2 new jobs.

I'll be very surprised and in support of no male Viera if we get character creator upgrade, but the chances of that seem low, from my perspective, based on history.

So I'll just ask for male Viera instead.

I'm not speaking of what I think they'll do. Because I honestly have no idea what they have planned. Instead, I am simply sharing my opinion of what I'd rather have. I have no interest in anything viera so basically any content in its place is fine by me.

There's never any content "in place" of new races, Stormblood showed this very clearly. But if 6.0 changes that, then that's great.

That's half correct. While there's no direct content planned in a manner of "We could develop content A or Content B." there is the process of planning and building a new race, not to mention having to fit old gear and new gear to new races. I would rather that time and resources it would take to do those things be utilized on something else. Preferably that thing be new character customization options for existing races, or perhaps some type of graphical upgrade. Heck, even replacing some spaghetti code to make future updates to things easier. Basically, I'd rather things we have now be better rounded out than to have something that will likely be unfinished and just piss everyone off anyways.

The mods probably got enough complaints finally and zapped it out of existence.

Everything that was needed was said ... its just going to tumble down into the same thing.
1000 Pages turned into a huge trashfire, making a new threat will simply cause the same problem, just let it rest.

SE is aware of the request, knowing their current shedule is already tons behind ... its not gonna be on the list.
There is stuff they can move, and stuff that is kind of fixed.

Im pretty sure even tho SE is currently behind shedule, they will still push for 6.0 in Summer next year.
.0 Updates are incredibly important for SE, not only is it an additional sell, it draws in tons of new players.

So where do you think the Male Viera fits in on this Timeline, it just doesnt make sense to create something that has no monetary value while you are behind your shedule ... even if the players want it, SE is a company. SE's goal is to make money.

1. They are not behind in terms of having had to cut content. They are only behind in terms of patch schedule.
2. They said this new schedule would affect the next expansion in terms of schedule (pushed back), not in terms of content.

With that put into consideration they're not doing more than they were doing in Stormblood in in terms of projects allocation. And we got female Viera/male Hrothgar.
Male Viera can still happen if they put in the mechanisms necessary for it: Pitching this idea to the company CEOs + marketing department, hiring new people, and optimizing their weekly workflow.

I still want male viera

Seeing as I often play Fem Roe which is a race created for ARR, so EVERY race had both genders.

YES YES YES for Male Viera.

I can't imagine male Roegadyn without female Roegadyn. It's a literal SIN to not have both genders available for people to select.

Would not go as far to say it is a literal sin.

While I would not play as a male Viera myself, I would enjoy having the option for others to play them.

I am here to post my support for male viera inclusion! Give us bunny boys!
