Was doing some milling about and decided to look into blowing a few leves for the heck of it, only to realize that there are no battlecraft leves post-HW.
Do you think we will see them return?
If they did, is their previous iteration enough to make them worthwhile?

I believe that the reason they were scrapped was because not enough people were doing them, so they thought that people didn't like them.
Which would be glossing over the fact that their rewards have been pretty bad for ages...
If they did return, I'd guess and say that people still wouldn't do them because Duties give better exp for time invested (With Trusts it might even hold true for DPS jobs)
Though, I wouldn't put it past SE to simply jam in another arbitrary currency to collect via them rather than fix the issue of exp gains from things that aren't duties being trash. So yeah, we'd probably start collecting 1,000,000 new "Tricolour Gemstones" to spend on a bunch of knick-nacks. Please look forward to it. -

If they really really wanted to continue to allow people to party up for these, force any party members to level sync down to the level of the leve starter (this would take a bit more programming effort surely, but isn't out of the realm of possibility)
Again, if they wanted to fix this, they easily could.
I'm sure one of the reasons they were scrapped was because they didn't feel like coming up with additional quest descriptions / flavor text for the levequests. I'm sure it was no coincidence that Stormblood was also the point where they stopped getting a proper journal entry for every quest (no matter how mundane or unimportant); they clearly had less time/budget/care allocated to this sort of thing.Quote:

The rewards thing isn't a good excuse. Like I said, they easily could have made the rewards worthwhile by simply adjusting some numbers, and that would have been far easier than coming up with all the flavor text. -

Probably not, but I'd love to see them.
Lore reasons most of all. But also maybe they could be challenging? Like the early level ones were next to nothing in difficulty, but perhaps once hitting 80 we could have this supremely challenging local non-instanced content.
I wouldn't even care about rewards and such, it's just nice to have more to do. In about 19 months from now I'll start the battleleve grind and well that's going to be duller than the level 1 fishing leves I'm doing now. -

They're more or less permanently phased out now due to how fates are being handled.
Battle leves are in a funny place because they compete directly with dungeons, roulette bonuses, fates, deep dungeons, side quests, and beast tribes, and its hard to balance risk/reward to be competitive-but-worse. Theres already a number of things people dont do in a given day that can reward more XP than battle leves can, so they would either have to give meaningful secondary rewards, or theres no point, and its hard to give meaningful secondary rewards to something designed to be quick and easy. -

I would love it.
I hate how slowly all open world content for levelling got completely killed, because roulettes just give too much xp compared to everything else.
But some of us prefer open world to dungeons, especially to doing Sastasha 1000 times, or having to wait for neverending queues if you play at odd hours.
The FATEs situation can never be solved because they require multiple people to be xp-profitable, but they could at least give us solo leves back. I still do them on low level classes/alts and I miss them at higher levels.
DoH/DoL leves on the other hand are basically useless now that levelling those is a complete joke with just GC turnins/Firmament (and with gathering you just go out to actually gather and every zneeze is a few levels), and yet they're still there. -

I'd love to have them bring back guildleves. Maybe even have and endgame type of leve, perhaps one that you build up to by accruing points from lesser leves *glances at 1.0*
Would also be nice to just have some leves at the level caps that give out a few tomestones, gil, and perhaps something usable for battle folks (Materia? Gil? Just make the end level leves all GC leves and make them give a respectable amount of seals? idk) -

I'd like leves to be useful again but party incentivized, like mini trials but open world. Been sit at 100 since I finished Crafters and gathers and have no use other than some gil making.

Not everyone likes endlessly spamming Deep Dungeon. Plus some people might prefer a more natural leveling experience that didn't automatically just give you all of your level 60/70 abilities all at once, so you could gradually learn them as you go. -

There are significantly more ways to level battle classes. Battlecraft leves would have to be worse than all or most of them, as they would exist solely for convenience. If they're added back in and most people still use leves to get amber vilekin, or to make quick money off some of the crafter ones that give back more mats than they cost, then they're no better off than leaving them gone. -
