beastmaster next job

I like see beastmaster as the next limit job aswell the test bed job. why do I think it should be a test bed job aswell a limit job. first off the need for a job for SE to test pet system and improve other pet jobs. is need. how I like see beast master kind like vanilla wow pet jobs with a whip use for combat I for one would love see improvement made on summoner and scholars. if you look at my post history I first want see summoner improve I even give ideals for it. enough said

It really would not work any other way honestly. I mean sure you could force feed Beastmaster as a group. We all know how that will turn out by now.

Limited jobs is a failed experiment.

Instead of trying to conform to a jobs identity from a game they made decades past, if they do add jobs like that kind of thing, it should be given its own identity and not forced to live up to some magical nostalgic sense of similitude, as we've seen with blue mage, that simply doesnt work.

That being said, i really hope SE takes a step back at the backlash with Viera and Bluemage, and actually try and make their own decissions for once instead of just conforming to popular requests, let them be original.

um you know it would work proof enough is wows hunter lol in a normal party

Only FF11 has precedent of BST being a pet job as well, if you were to take an approach more akin to ff5 then imagine a dps or tank, but almost all of their gcds/ogcds summon a monster into the arena for an attack then they bounce.

first off limit job aren't a failure. limit jobs are niche jobs for player who like something else. and yes I have blue mage on two of my character one is lvl 53 and other 51. blue mage is design for player who like blue mage so it can feel like blue mage. yes I want bst so that you go out tame pets and lvl them up and raise them for combat and so they fight along side of blue mage. limit jobs aren't a failure they only a failure to people on the genarel forum who don't spend enough time in game who want every job to be like wow class

at one point I felt same way yet I realize that use bst as way to improve summoner and build better pet jobs and make job like summoner better

Beastmaster, full , complete job or please do not add it in.

What about Tactics Advanced where it literally revolved on charming random beasts to do anything? I even remember BST having a buddy relationship with BLU where you charmed certain beasts and force it to you use a move so the BLU can learn it. I'd ike it if that dynamic gets translated here.

And keeping with TA, BST can even borrow the monster bank to keep and raise their collection of beasties. That could be apart of its collection niche.

What a waste of our time and developers time if they try to do more of these lame duck limited jobs. Full job or not at all. Nearly every MMO ever released has some sort of pet class. I don't see why FFXIV doesn't have the creativity to implement it as a full job. Even if it was a clone of Beastmaster in Everquest which was pretty similar to Puppet Master it would work as a full job or if they had charm beast like the Enchanter and Ranger. If it was like Hunter in WoW it would work as well very easily. You could travel around capturing monsters and it shrinks them down like WoW and each pet has a unique ability or skill tree. You fight alongside the pet with dual axes like EQ. Done.

Even Blue Mage showed a surprising lack of creativity. WoW has druid, a class that can handle 4 different roles. There is no reason why Blu cant be a full job either if they locked abilities behind stances.

The level of BLU activity in PF during 5.1 showed that it was in fact not a waste of time.

Didn't know SE made a WoW game tbh.....

I know they made a MMO around that time called Final Fantasy XI, & Beastmaster was a $hit show in that game as a group job.

it doesn't matter who makes it the reason people are saying it won't work is because they think since its a mmo it auto doesn't work on some things... also ffxi was way better of a mmo ;p and honestly no it wasn't beastmaster worked great in a group if you knew what you were doing lol....

also Lets be honest the only excuse that might be legit to say when you say "It wouldn't work" is when it comes to pet jobs the staff of this game unskilled when it comes to pets. They have completely no idea what they are doing and have no idea how to make a pet job correctly.


The fact is Pet jobs work great in partys and groups more so when unlike wow you don't have "taunt" ability. If you know what your doing when making them they work better than most other jobs in groups.

let me explain why I want beastmaster to be a limit job and how beast master could be use as way improve summoner and scholar and future jobs such as medic which was one my suggest. beast master allow the devs to play around with pet AI system which at future date they apply to summoner and scholar. it let them work improve it slowly and figure how make a better pets job which they apply to exist pet jobs like summoner and scholar. beast master won't be bound to dungeon and raids like blu which with blue mage the can play around with spell and see which are good spell and which are bad which also can allow them improve black mage and red mages. this why I see limit jobs as test bed for improve exist jobs and we the players will benfit for the devs play around on the limit jobs in long runs.

are they other jobs I like seen

ranger a hand weild crossbow job for example
or medic which my suggest who weild pistol and is mix between chemist and has dog the aid them in heal they party.

Heres the thing Pet jobs are not complicated on how to make them work How they are complete failures when it comes to pets is behond me...

People play pet based jobs to depend on the pet for everything as you being the background person...

Its not as hard as they make it all they have to do to fix the pet jobs is make all every single thing damage wise for summoner revole around the pet its really that simple.
Same goes as sch same thing just on healing
with you the player at most using command move sets- and pet buffs

THe main theme of having a pet is you being the background supporting your minion/minions and isssuing comands like a general or overlord(based on person) not you fighting along side your pet casting heavy magic and heavy range.

You seem to be confusing Beastmaster and Morpher here. Beastmasters could charm a monster for a single round, this wasn't making it a pet it was a one round mind control that was often used to force moves onto blu. The monster bank was a collab between Hunter and Morpher, hunter would capture beasts and put it in the Bank as a Zoo, then if you raised the monster in the Zoo enough, your Morpher could become that monster and share its stats and abilities. None of this implies a Pet based job, as I mentioned FFXI is the only interation which is focus'd on pet based gameplay, unless you count 10-2, where you only had one pet and it functioned like a normal job

the truth is it not easy as you say first there 3 different type of pet jobs

1st pet focus job were you pet is the focus everything is focus on pet and not the jobs

2nd hybrid pet job focus focus on both the pet and the jobs were both benfit for the pet jobs

2nd one is my pefrer type. see with summoner they could built so you first summon carbruncle as low lvl summon and have high summon to summon ifrit and put they attack with debuff a


3nd pet isn't important.

Um well the 2nd one hybrid doesn't work at all it just dumbs down both

but regardless that doesn't matter

they could easily put pet jobs into their own setting like they do with mele dps

for example
1: pet focus jobs Summoner/puppet master
2: Hybrid Pet jobs like scholar,Mch
3: Infusing Pet jobs things like a beastmaster could infuse themself with traits of their pet by dismissing them.

That doesn't make it hard it just makes it possible to make everyone happy by using all those diffrent pet systems based on the job/class.

Or they could be reasonable and not enforce any of the methods on us they could let us pick how it works for us using ffxi's merits system.

which by the way alot of mmos have a pet job for all the types

some examples or
Eqs and dark age of camelots necromancers are pure pet users where the pet is buffed and commaned by you

In wows case You got death knight as your hybrid, you got demonology as your pure pet user/ you got afflication users where the pet isn't importent, you also got the fight along side your pet as equals which is the surivalist in wow.

It does matters, that is why they mentioned BST and limited in the same breathe. They know it would be a balancing nightmare. All signs point to limited, subject to change of course. You can keep dreaming though, not going to stop you....

When are BLU's active? When they receive an update.

When are all the other jobs, non-limited as they are, active? Literally all the time.

That's not because of the contents quality. There are many easy ways that BLU could be improved in that regard. That doesn't diminish the quality of content. I'll give you examples:

1. Party bonuses for spell collection, akin to first time bonuses
3. Remove allied seals from the game and give BLU/BST their own currency. ARR hunts will give centurio seals like HW/SB.
3. Add gear that utilises this new currency.
4. Incentivise this gear by giving it Eureka-style unique effects.
5. Add a BLU roulette that drops this currency.

Not all of this needs to be done to increase the replayability of BLU, but I just wanted to show you the potential that the limited job system has.

Oh and one more change that is sorely needed:

1. Categorise BLU as a Disciple of collection instead of a disciple of magic, the limited job moniker needs to go, it just enables people who don't have a clue to trash on the job because it is "limited", which is completely untrue

You mean like how rewards are locked behind every single other piece of content in the game to "force" people to do it? (lets see... Raiding, dungeons PVP, Ultimate, PotD/HoH challenge floors, Ishgardian restoration, Gold saucer, hunts etc. yep they all have rewards locked behind them).

my other thread was suggest on range/pet healer this more focus on bst as limit job which what SE said it would be. I tried point the good side of limit jobs which I find most of forum are against but I see a lot people in game are for limit jobs since I see people enjoy they blue mage.

my suggest for summoner was always seen Carbruncle as first step summon that people summon the summon more of ifrits and other primes into world with final summon be Behumat and Phoenixs I away want more summon like Shiva and Ramuh I still do I like have access to have Diamond Carbruncle and Amystica Carbruncle that has more attacks. I seem with summon Like Shiva and Ramuh are more reasonable being who would be will to lend the summoner they power I guess in some way that way they aren't summon because they more reasonable with the Chosen of Hydrilain

Only every other class in the game can be used to unlock those things so you can use a class you enjoy. You seem to want to shoehorn in a bunch of rewards locked behind a single class that is bunch of copypasted abilities and requires you do it in the first month or spend hours waiting in PF

A month is far too generous, it's more like a week. Maybe two weeks.

Limited jobs are a failed experiment, and if Beastmaster is implemented - it had best be as a proper job, not a sideshow mini-game.

blu isn't a failure I seen plenty of player with level 60 blu and some even look for pf. I think you not will to adept to limit jobs and your bitten about it


you kept tell your self it failed system because you want believe and other to believe yet when you play blue mage quite fun and it quite easy to get skills when you use PF to do it. the forum isn't ffxiv servers live ffxiv game. forum = echo chamber

That's a very odd niche that I'm not sure actually needs to be filled. Retainers and Shared FATEs provide lots of mob drops, and the value of most mob drops are pretty low.

BST is one of the few jobs I'm actually interested in seeing added to the game and I hope it's not done as a limited job of any kind. The fact that people level BLU doesn't mean it's not a failure. It's content people rush for a week like any other content and then it's promptly forgotten about. I know people who have leveled BLU and collected all the spells but I don't know anyone who is actually *pleased* by how BLU was implemented.

when come to bst and blue mage i chosen accept the hand i am dealt should i like see them have access to more yet one suggest improvement in direction the devs have layed know they problem not change it. Also one must away look on bright side this is what i chosen to do i want look bst and blu as way to improve more combat linar jobs. i want blu to use scimatars for example for ffxi. but if blu is going be a limit job and if bst and puppetmaster will be aswell hint by Yoshi P then i will accept the hand i dealt and hope by them use beast master and puppetmaster they figure way to improve all jobs through work on the limit jobs. they plenty job for ff i would love see and i also like see job like medic with pet dog which one i suggest to kind meet complimised for though who desire chemist.

yes i did like many of you want bst and blue mage to be part of combat jobs like dragoon and paladin and stuff but if i must accept them as limit jobs the so be it. i say that we must accept the card we be dealt we not going away agree with devs yet we can look on bright side of they actions

through i still think people on forum speak for vocal minotry and not the majority of players who like blue mage as is

Love or hate the limited job idea, I think what they did with it was more creative and experimental than a blue mage normal job would have been. Nobody expected (and many didn't want) the limited job idea, so while it may have been a blunder for many, it was at least an interesting thing to experiment with creatively as side content.

Personally would prefer to see it as a full fledged job, but in doing so I feel it would just be something tacked on like "You found an injured <insert monster> at starter level that you fix up, seems it wants to go with you, take this soul stone." While I would like the idea of WoW or FF11 beast class, I can't imagine us getting anything too deep and even then still being limited to certain types that can be tamed.

See, you can have BLU as a 'difficult to progress, not always viable, but always fun' hybrid DPS caster, or you can force it into a mini-game that somehow still has less enjoyable gameplay than any existing job. I'm not sure why anyone would want the second, let alone claim that the job itself is more creative in that form than it would have been if its kit had the same care and attention as any job with a decent development budget has gotten.

Throwing abilities at it with zero sense of synergy or playflow intent wasn't a result of the devs not wanting to constrict the job; it was merely a way of parading around a mini-game-based time-sink (albeit one of above-average enjoyability) under the guise of a job. Just look at where the development for the job went. It certainly didn't go into making the gameplay loops (e.g. the pre-combat and in-combat decision-making, build diversity, etc., etc.) of the job itself creative or experimental, only into the side-content into which BLU would be segregated (not that all that came out particularly creative either).

I grant you your wish of a beastmaster job. Limited. Level 30 cap.

I know one or two who are reasonably happy with it.

I myself am not really one of them, although I do see some potential in the concept. I doubt that potential will ever be fully realized though.
