Has anyone tanked long fights as paladin since 1.21a? Any MP issues? How about hate now with spirits within? The buff to blocks with Devine veil really noticeable?

Divine Veil helps with dmg mitigation but the mp issues are still apparent. However bard makes that better. Some may still prefer war but paladin keeps hate a lot better. Now if we could only get SE to replenish mp by as much as aegis gives back hp and paladin would be a survivor and self sufficient. Divine Veil is very nice though. :)
WAR can utilize his HP to sustain high damaging moves (and recover his hp + additional damage using WS), but what PLD can use?? that is what bothers me most.
You can stack Divine Veil and Outmaneuver for some self-MP recovery. Also, Ethers are your friend. Divine Veil also allows for Phalanx spam and the Spirit's Within combo is a great addition to enmity. Good update for PLD overall.
Paladin I think is fine now, the issue is the damage output from WAR.
It can tank as well as PLD but WAR shortens fights and holds hate real nicely through damage enmity. There's no reason to take a Paladin to Chimera (example) when a WAR is a safer choice incase you get by a magic breath attack due to the higher HP and it can almost top the dps parse x_x
Paladin needs enough damage mitigation that you can drop a white mage and bring an extra dedicated DPS to balance them out!
What I've learned about the new PLD:
1: Divine Veil + Outmaneuver = yum MP/TP. Divine Veil forces partial guarding, so you get Outy's perks for free.
2: Divine Veil + TP = Phalanx spam = damage. While not alot, significantly more than meleeing.
3: Divine Veil = no physical pushbacks. Tested on Buata, didn't budge an inch.
4: Enmity from Spirits Within = somewhat insignificant. Not entirely stoked about using it as a dealmaker.
5: AF = still garbage.
6: HP = same. WAR's better for one versus many/brickhouse-slamming mobs.
7: Cover = meh.
A good PLD is a busy PLD.

One of our paladins tanked coincounter yesterday and didn't even have to run out from 100 tons, I think the buffs are pretty good could do with another skill to block though and they would be the complete meat shield.
MRD/WAR is broken, they need to be nerfed, stances would do, Berserk and Defender. (shouldn't be allowed to change stances during combat)
I don't think that's the solution, PLD shouldn't be a DPS class, what needs to happen is WAR needs less DPS whilst in a defensive stance/role.
Enmity and damage from Spirit's Within I think is the only other notable thing. While Spirit's Within didn't get a direct damage increase, you don't have to combo it now for good damage, just high enough health. And it has an accuracy bit attached to it as well.
I understand that doesn't help with damage taken, but it can certainly help with the enmity bit.
