Please implement a limited in-game hunt tracker for S ranks.

Shadowbringer's new S ranks are fun and easy to manage, given their relative strength and the introduction of an SS rank that may initiate a spawning process.
Even if clan nuts are perhaps the least useful hunt currency currently.

However - the gameplay correlated S ranks have become quite stressful for most that used to enjoy engaging in the content, due to the relative power any player may wield proceeding the launch of Shadowbringers.

ARR S ranks can die in mere seconds, with HW S ranks being capable of felled in a similar fashion.
This nature makes them very capable of being stealth-killed, subsequently making it quite difficult for anyone unaware to succeed in spawning or killing the S rank in the future.

In my opinion, such difficulties to approaching older content is very unhealthy for the game and should not be present.

The utter inaccessibility of alliance raids, and progressing in Eureka as a small party are issues I would like to similarly addressed in the future.
As for the subject on hand, though - I feel the solution would be simple.

An in-game hunt accessible via the hunt scholar NPCs already present in the game.
When spoken to concerning the S rank they possess knowledge of, they would indicate whether the mob's minimum spawn cooldown has been breached or not.
I.E."The creature has been spotted in the area, stay on guard!" or "There have been no signs if the creature in the area."

A ranks are primarily currency fodders and I believe should not be changed in any way as their only dynamic is that they have a cooldown of a few hours before they may spawn once they've been killed.

S ranks, however, have significant facets of gameplay attached to them, such as not allowing any fates in the zone to fail for an hour on opening a treasure map coffer in the respective area (which is not a guaranteed spawn).
They all have a minimum cooldown of at least nearly two days, making them special for those that enjoy engaging with limited world mobs.

I feel an ultimate goal would a level sync for all S ranks if the majority of the community desired it, but I do not know feasible that would be to code nor do I know if SE would have available resources for that cause.
An in-game hunt tracker should be peanuts to implement on the other hand, given how the game already clearly tracks how much time has passed since a S rank mob gas been killed.

My primary enjoyment of this game is derived from spawning S ranks, and such a feature would do a great deal to appease the concerns of like-minded players who still verily enjoy engaging with older S ranks.
Timeworn Wyvernskin maps are the only means of spawning a particular Heavensward S rank and are currently the highest priced across the Aether data-center, which should be a fair indication of older S ranks still being relevant to a great deal of players.

What's a Hunt without a hunt.

There’s 280 S Ranks on a Data Center. About 900 S Ranks spawn per week on a Data Center. There’s plenty of S Ranks to go around. The problem my particular data center has is trying to control the s rank hunt scene. Spawners making alts, dual boxing and camping aetherytes and stalking spawners who don’t hold the same ‘values’ as they do. Relying on 3rd party software and their hunt discords for automatic hunt callouts and relaying them into their discords and x-world hunt ls’s. Holding S rank calls. First priority going to spawners. The list goes on. Control less, enjoy hunts more.

The system of Hunts needs a complete overwork.

1. Hunts should be only huntable by players from the same Server, Server hopping must be stopped, it gets only abused to steal hunts from other Servers, in times when there are non on the own side to kill.
2. Hunts need to scale up with the power and numbers of players, so that they stay always relevant, even if this means that old content hunts will outlevel new players then
3. Only players from the same Server as the Hunt can pull it and start the battles.
4. Whenever very powerful hunts appear, all players on the map should be informed by a system message and a noisy danger signal tone with a map ping marker,to make players aware of its powerful presence

These 4 points would make hunts alot more enjoyable again

If rewards get then only vastly expanded and improved with more uselful interesting things that are not SE's typical boring 1x fire n forget rewards und the spwn system gets reworked to let everything after kill just respawn within randomly within 24h maximum, it would be much better

Aside of that should be kind of added a Hunter Rank System, that increases and improves your rewards so more you hunt, similar to Monster Hunter World, giving players that hunt alot a way to obtain the best gear in regard if efficiency/ilevel also to just via doing hunts only, so that players which like these kinds of game content, can also progress with their charas over time, get at least the impression, that the more you hunt, so better becomes your equipment over time, by looting the hunts and reuse the loot for better gear.

Currently the whole feature just wastes alot of potential in the way how it works at the moment. Has there even ever anything being improved and expanded on about that feature, beyond just adding new creatures, whenver an expansion with new maps got released or a contebt patch that did the same?

At least not so far, since when I began playing FF14 over a year n few months ago.

I'm on Aether too, hello!
I believe Yoshi P has acknowledged the political side of hunts in his most recent live letter response concerning them.
I don't think he has a problem with them, and neither do I.

I do however, feel that everyone should have a fair chance at a hunt, regardless of server.
Naturally, having an in-game tracker would render many third-party hunt applications obsolete and allow anyone to get their foot in the door whether it be spawning an S rank or killing one.

An in-game would everyone to make more efficient use of their time, by reducing or eliminating attempts to spawn an S rank in vain due it being killed without most players knowledge.

I sincerely believe that would make hunts more enjoyable.

tranquil's suggestion does not, in the slightest, reduce any of the hunting parts of hunting, it removes the tedium of trying to spawn something without knowing if someone killed it and didnt tell anyone, and would lessen the amount that the entire community relies on third party tracking websites or google docs that are inaccessible to anyone who doesnt know anything or anyone

Then request a system that works like treasure maps or levequests. Instances can only hold about 350 players, so no matter what they do with syncing, buffs or invincibility, many will be locked out.

Most efficient use of time is to not spawn hunts at all and let others do it while you wait for the relay.

You know, the more i think about this topic, the more i think to myself that the hunt community has a pretty dang nice public tracker in Horus. Unfortunately, you have all of these 'hunt factions' that don't readily want to use Horus and use private google spreadsheet trackers instead. So no one ever knows what's up anymore that isn't a SHB S Rank. Use Horus, and this problem goes away.

Naturally, not everyone that wants to participate in slaying a S rank will able to.
I merely use my right to extend a S rank spawn to as many people as possible whenever possible.
This is rather off-topic, as an in-game tracker would not infringe on my ability to do so nor would it prevent others from engaging any of my spawns whenever they wish.

Yoshi P stated he doesn't want to go as far as to have the game announce kill times for S ranks, and I actually agree with that sentiment.
Just let us know if a hunt has even a chance of spawning, and experienced hunters can take care of the rest.

Horus legit endorses several applications that violate the TOS of this game.

Furthermore, there are currently many S ranks on Aether with an unknown status due to having only having a probability of spawning when their triggers are fulfilled.

Without an actual in-game tracker, it's virtually impossible to determine if an old S rank with probability tied to their trigger are just being statistically difficult to spawn or have been stealth-killed.

Try spending five hours meeting Senmurv's spawn condition when he's actually dead (Forelands is a hotspot for FATE bots and thus "accidental" spawns do happen as a result) to understand true suffering.

Agrippa is another hunt that does get spawned accidentally but has so much RNG involved in his condition that it's impossible to tell whether or not he's actually dead as it's taken as many as nine Mor Dhona treasure maps after he hit cap to spawn for me.

The sheer amount of work in spawning certain hunts is what makes shooting blind really painful as well as how huge the spawn windows can be. Being able to check whether or not something is available to spawn or not would alleviate that a great deal.

Having the hunter scholars state how many hours ago an S Rank was killed would be a great boon. It would still be random, you'd still have the potential "snipes" (which hey, if they want to keep these S Ranks at a level below trivial, then its fair game), but everyone would be on the same playing field. I'd also like to extend it to A Ranks, but I dunno, that's just me.

An in-game tracker would be a blessing for any previous S rank with RNG conditions.

Players didn't have to worry about wasting time trying to spawn a S rank influenced by probability when they were current, now we have choice but to cut our losses a attempting to spawn an RNG S rank to no avail.

Honestly... an in-game tracker would be very useful for griefers as well, allowing them to be privy to timers at their whim.
Ultimately, I still think an in-game tracker is vital.

I don't think anyone should be liable to completely waste their time spawning S ranks that have previously been killed without apparent knowledge.

It's flawed game design with a relatively simple solution.

If they can be killed so easily, they can't be dropping any useful gear for a level 80 player. Why bother then?

No hunt drops gear, not even ShB hunts. They give tomes and seals.

Allied seals, as well as poetics and goetia tomestones are still valuable to a degree so there will always be an interest in the older hunts as long as they continue to drop relevant currency.

As I pointed out, the squishy ARR S ranks are arguably more valuable then the HW/SB ones now that allied seals can be used to purchase grade VII/VIII materia. Granted, you can get tons of those just from killing the ShB A/S ranks but the ARR hunts are realistically soloable and don't actually take all that to kill which is why they're so prone to being picked off people as of late.

hunts have always been treated as a free for all. no one is above anyone else in trying to spawn them kill them farm them etc. it should remain a mystery. sometimes chaos should reign over order.

What is wrong when knowing when they died? There is still the random element of WHEN it will actually spawn once it's initial window is up.

To add, don't forget the achievement reward(s) that are tied into The Hunt that require S-rank kills (ARR/HW/SB Tiger mount, ShB Triceratops Mount, titles, etc...)

I don't understand this logic.
Merely knowing when A S rank's minimum CD would still leave the majority of a S rank's mechanics to be determined by a player, whilst respecting a player's time by deterring them from trying to spawn something completely in vain.

Stealthily killing a S rank not only does in fact give an innate advantage to the player who does so(due to all S rank cooldowns being heavily documented), but was also likely never to be intended to happen - if we go by the new system messahe for S ranks and Yoshi P's most recent live letter responses regarding hunts.

I do not agree with point 1. I get home in the evenings. A lot of folks run hunt trains right before the normal 8 - 5 folks get home. So, I miss out on hunts on my home world; however, one of the great things about trains, is that I can visit other worlds and still get in on a train or a couple hunts every day. Instead of being at the mercy of our realm. I do not agree with restricting server hoping.

On point 2, World of Warcraft has world mobs scale up with you as you level in end game. Doesn't feel good at all and is quite irritating that after a year of getting gear, these useless mobs don't fall over. I don't agree with scaling up due to the power of players. Though, I do agree with scaling the HP with how many are involved for older expansions only. Just because they get one shot so quickly, you may not get credit. Also, Hunt's such as Odin still one shot people. Granted, he's not really a hunt but it shows that there are still some that are threatening and dangerous.

I remember spending ages killing 50 of the 3 mobs needed to spawn the Azys Lla S rank, only to find that it must have been stealth killed at some point, as it didn't spawn T^T

I do find it odd they arbitrarily decided to give Odin special treatment by buffing him to level 60 in HW but haven't touched him since.

I honestly wouldn't be against them just giving the older hunts a defense buff that lose stacks based on how many players are in proximity to them to ensure a certain reasonable minimum of people can reap the rewards from them comfortably. As things currently stand even a tank can solo an ARR S rank in about five minutes which is potentially not even enough time to locate the thing before it dies in bigger zones.

I remember once where think one had to gather some item to spawn it. My group spawned it and before we could get to the location where it spawn it was every dead from ones that never helped spawn it they just showed up and knew right where it was. After that I quit helping or caring about spawning S ranks. Only takes few to wreck it for everyone else. Hunt system does need fixed.

Daily Hunts and B Ranks are fine. Maybe A ranks too. S Ranks are in need of changes. Making meaningful change to them would also revitalize older zones in some circumstances, and I'm for it.

This means if you spawn a S rank hunt, there's a fairly high chance it's going to be immediately detected and mass-relayed to every user of the program across the entire data center, especially in zones with high amounts of bot activity.

Even worse, some griefers are prone to only disable the sniffing program when they attempt to snipe S ranks, allowing them to reap the benefits of other player's spawns while their own conveniently slip under the radar.

S Rank should be like Special FATEs that doesn't show in the map. This way it wouldn't be posible to kill in seconds, since we'll be synced to an appropriate level, where they will always be dangerous

Bump for relevance, minions aren't the only hunt mechanics that could desperately use some simple changes.

Yoshi P: you yourself, said you would consider implementing countermeasures to stealthy killing of S ranks.

For the sake of everyone who wishes to participate in spawning S ranks, here I ask you to please do that very thing.

No I am saying a hunt without a hunt is basically a FATE. And we have timed FATES too and no one to tell us when they will spawn. They are a less casual FATE. It's one of those more exciting parts of the game. Odin, Behemoth, Fox Lady, Ixion, etc

The issue with hunts is not that they need something like an npc taking the hunt outta the hunt, its that the mob itself needs to be changed. We don't need things made constantly easier, not everything needs to be casual content. This game is a faceroll as it is. Let's put pressure on them to raise the difficulty now and then. Maybe add unique drops to certain hunts so that they are more worthwhile to actually hunt and worth a little camping. Higher rank hunts are supposed to be rare for a reason, what they shouldn't be is soloable, they should be made stronger and rewards adjusted.

Lesser hunts sure, put timers on them, put bells around their necks and ribbons in their hair, idc, but lets keep at least something for people who don't wanna just tap 1 button as they watch Netflix. Let's keep something special and at least a little exciting.

I feel like this is more needed then ever now that a DPS player in easily obtainable 480 gear can solo the ARR S ranks in a matter of a few minutes, while poetics continue to be pushed as a relevant endgame currency; most recently with the Resistance relics.

Nandi and Safat are by far the most prone to being picked off as their spawn conditions are regularly being fulfilled accidentally thanks to the massive influx of new players.

Maybe they can level sync us to the zone for hunts so that they don’t die as fast. Then again I wonder if any new players are even doing the old hunts.

Anything got make hunts more accessible would be nice. Perhaps some sort of tracker that once a S rank is unlocked and known it’s posted on our personal hunt log that shows the requirements that need to be met or how much more of said requirements are needed to fulfill the current spawn. Then when ready to spawn everyone on the hunt log will be notified and people can participate. Just throwing out ideas.

What really bothers me is not ARR specifically butvany of the RNG triggers.

In the past, no one could stealthily kill RNG S ranks so it was safe to attempt the trigger until the respective spawns occurs.

Now, no one attempting a RNG spawn has that security with the exception of Shadowbringers S ranks.
We can attempt the RNG triggers indefinitely with NP surefire way of knowing whether the S ranks is merely holding out or was actually sniped.

Even Shadow bringer probability triggers may be a problem in the future if something is not changed.
