I dont know if anima will stay or be replaced but either way i dont think it makes sense that we are alowed to be ported by a friend to areas weve never had to walk to first. You should only be able to accept a port to an area that you have visited before in the past. No need to be in a rush all the time.

At least they made it so you can only go to the smaller nodes if you have visited them. I just wish there was more of a reason to go to those.

Another anima thread? Leave it alone people! If you don't want to be ported to a camp you haven't been to before fine, don't do it. Don't try and ruin others gaming because of what you want. I've helped countless low leveled players get to Mor Dhona to do their main storyline mission and being able to just teleport them there was a great thing because I would have had to run them there on foot through the Shroud.
Since most of these people that I've helped came on late at night just before I was heading to bed, I was able to get them there and mission done quickly and go to bed with happy thoughts of helping someone! I've been to the node before and since the person is in my party, I am giving that person some of my link to that node to them so they can get there and fully attune to the node themselves. That is how I see it.
Now can we please stop with these anima threads? Post in one of the 100 other anima threads! -

Just stop doing this thread. People like being able to get camps in hard to reach places. If you don't want to do it that way then don't but stop trying to get SE to make it suck for the rest of us. I have helped several players who tried to get to Mor Dhona via the land route but kept getting killed by the aggro and I was able to port them directly to the camp and that's how it should be.

Even in WoW, unless you know a Warlock and two friends who are really bored (good luck), there is no way you are getting this without putting in the work, yourself. -

It helps new players out. I've hated telling friends I'm introducing to the game "Yeah, you have to run to all these crystals first." They didn't play very long after that. Then I found out I could've just ported them there.
Maybe in 2.0, when the maps are worth exploring. But for now I see no issue. -

Remember in FFXII where you ported to a crystal with a new party member you just got? (example, Ashe or Penelo)
You ported to the Giza pla-WAIT A MINUTE BUT ASHE HAS NEVER BEEN TO THE GIZA PLAINS SO I SHOULD HAVE TO WALK ALL THE WAY BACK OVER THERE AND HAVE HER TOUCH THAT TELEPORT CRYSTAL.
That would be pretty annoying, don't you think? Besides most of the in game world now is just copy/paste anyways. Why do you care what we do? -

It depends on the zones after 2.0. I honestly think that getting to Mor Dhona was the only part of the main scenario that posed a challenge. So in a way I am a little /sad that people get to /easybutton that mission by getting teleported. But that's more of a problem with the foolproof questline (I mean seriously, I don't think you *could* die in most of those missions!)
Also, if the 2.0 maps are as beautiful as they're promised to be and not made to hamper travel (the tubes of the Shroud and awkward rock formations every 3 feet in Coerthas), it'll be a good idea to have people explore them because there's a good chance it'll be the only time the ever do.
If I was on the dev team, I would go back to the "supply missions" like in XI. Another player can teleport you around, but you have to accept a "mission" before journeying to the Aeth. So you have to run there just once before you can tele yourself (and so you're not always bumming teles), but can still accept the teleport to avoid /pcmd kick over not being able to accept the port. -

In FFXIV, exploration achievements are completed by attuning with aetheryte and other players can teleport you right to them. -

Why should MY experience be dumbed down just because others don't want to spend the time exploring? You can say "just don't teleport", but when the game is built around it, others expect you to take the easiest way through things so you don't waist THEIR time. This is an MMO after all
...Now, I'm not saying I support the above view point, just playing devil's advocate. I do believe, however, that once the world redesign hits, a greater emphasis should be put on world exploration -

If someone finds that he hinder other players time by not accepting teleports to places that he has not been visited before then he should take time and visit the damn places when he plays solo instead of looking for parties that will teleport him there.
After he visits every place in Eorzea THEN he can start partying.
An don't tell me this is impossible, THEY are the ones that believe that teleporting is a minus, so THEY are the ones that SHOULD suffer like this istead of their friends that are willing to take them there for free.
This shouldn't even be a debate, its common sence, you dont want to get there easily?
You go and do it the hard way.
