I want to let my Hrothgar wear a hat

I know I'm asking too much, but the fact that I can not have my Hrothgar wear anything but bandanas, and face-covered helms make me feel like SE don't really care about Hrothgar and Viera, like at all. At first I thought this will only effects old armor, but even new armors in ShB as well, I mean like come on! I know it's take a lot of works, so just hats and stuff from ShB onward would be fine, and what kind of hair style that stuck to a face ? what was that about ?

I mean, the plan was for you to not be able to wear any headgear at all and eventually have more unique custom options for face and hair to compensate.

It then came to a shock to Yoshi P that his team had been doing overtime and extra work to enable both classes to wear SOME headpieces, but as you say, they "don't really care".

I'm sure they appreciate players shitting on that extra dedication.

To add to this, they also said that they plan to add more wearable headgear as time went on. But yeah, I agree. Some of the team actually worked on roughly 500 pieces behind Yoshi P's back on their own time to make them available. I respect them a great deal for that.

Didn't even think there was even total 500 different head pieces in the game. If that's the case most helmets and hats should been able to be worn by the new races.

According to Eorzea Database, there's 1769. Though I'm sure a lot of them are just recolors.

Even with that effort, a lot of the head pieces don't work well on viera due to the hairstyles. For example the hair bow from the far eastern school outfit appears to be made to fit the ponytail hairstyle and any other hairstyle will have it float in the air. I guess that's what Yoshi meant when he said they have different heads.

The eastern school ribbon looks very weird on lalafells short twin ponytails. Its right in middle of them.

I had forgotten that there was an expectation of no hats/headgear initially, so I was a little surprised to see that there was a limit on even the ShB hats. I eventually switched back to Au'Ra because I really want my hats and GS hair. When they eventually get more done for Viera, I'll just fantasia then. I'm more happy with getting new content to play, and I get that they have a huge workload ahead of them.

I already commit as a Hrothgar.
I'll live with the limitations we may or may not be able to show headgear.

Eh? I may be wrong, so someone correct me, but im fairly certain that was never the plan. They said from the start that the plan was that at release of hroth/viera that neither would have access to head gear, but they would be implimented later on and the only reason they wouldnt have them at release was due to time constraints.

I believe it was that they wouldn't rework old model head pieces to work with them, so anything from 4.5 or before just wouldnt display, but new gear would be designed and fitted with those races in mind. The situation didnt really sit well with the devs, and the uproar at the decision by the playerbase was just an extra push to spur them to actually make nearly a third of the old models fit.

...Or I am forgetting some key details which said they would have the old head gears work eventually.

Been nice if they made all mogstation glamour's that we paid for. There head pieces show up.

Pretty sure you are wrong there. Fairly certain they said that even though on release of hroth/viera wont have access to headgear, they will work as hard as they can to implement it as soon as they can, just be patient. But, the devs surprised yoshi by getting some headgears working before launch. At no point did they say that they weren't originally going to give hroth/viera headgears due to just not haveing time to add. You can go back and look at the stream where he says they will add them in time, just be patient

It sounds to me like they do have plans to add more things to be wearable by Viera and Hrothgar, but anyone who expected this to be done by either 5.1 or expected alle the new headgear to be available was fooling themself. So we might see the odd thing being made available here and there (probably whenever they had some time at their hands?) but its not a promise that they'll ever get all the headgear nor that it will be made available by a specific date.

as much as people complain that the many glamor request or hair style request don't get noticed as much as some others doesn't mean they dont care
they have proved time and time again they do care and want people to enjoy themselves in this game

It would be also nice if the gear that does work properly matched the eyes. It's often too low and the model too small.

They should have spent more time making the faces / ears / hair standartized before releasing the races to allow easier head gear implementation.

I just want them to at least do the af gear and design all new sets with the new races in mind. Judging from the new dungeon armor preview without any hrothgar or viera (that’s a roe on the right ) I doubt they will have wearable hats from that either. It’s disappointing:/

I hope they let us use some new Head Stuff right now at 5.1 Patch, i want to use at least my "Chromite Helm of Fending" from my old Glamour when i was a Hyur. My glamour without it is ugly and i'm using another one instead :'(

I have a very specific aesthetic for my main glamour piece and not being able to achieve it on hrothgar is what made me drop it after I completed the msq

I hate headgear and always keep it hidden.

Yall Hrothgars look cool. Why would you want a hat/helm to ruin it?

I'm hoping they allow hats and caps to be worn at 5.1. If they're worried about the ears clipping, let them, since we can all just believe there are ear holes there. I'd like to wear some of those very good aiming hats/caps we've gotten over the years. I still love the Wrangler's Hat and I can't have my cowboy glam for MCH without it visible.

I just want to wear AF gear hats.

Also they need to fix face masks when they have a chance because they look a bit odd there is a space between the face and masks.

I'm partial to circlets and all that, which they made available for Hrothgar. Still though, a RDM unable to use their fancy AF hats? That is just wrong. I could say the same about other AF headgear for other jobs. I'm guessing that those will be made a priority compared to everything else whenever they add new pieces.

As someone who doesn't wear headgear all that often (at the moment I use a headband and glasses mostly), I'm not too fussed about this HOWEVER, I still would like the oppurtunity for this to slowly come into realisation more to basically see if any of the headgear which can't be used currently, actually looks decent on a Hrothgar. Things like fishing hats and such I would absolutely love to use but alas.

I actually quit playing rdm because the hat doesn't show on my character. I can understand the limitation. But for job specific armor to not show was quite disheartening.

Now this I can understand. I play a bunbun and the iconic missing RDM hat bothers me for sure.

Should\'ve waited at leadt till 5.1 drops before making this thread OP. Its likely it\'ll have more Bunnygirl / Lionboi hats anyways.
