What an excellent way to make use of your first post. Obviously you haven't seen the several other threads about this exact same topic.
best you can do?
Well, Yoshida's had many chances to remove anima, especially with the introduction of Chocobos and Airships. He has not. At the very least it's staying in until 2.0, we'll see what happens after that.
Are you suggesting that they completely remove the anima system (which includes teleports) so that we would have to walk everywhere? Would that really be preferable to having a system that allows people to port around a bit. Don't even suggest that we go back to XI's obnoxiously stupid system which required specific classes for teleports.
The anima system is casual friendly and it's useful to the more hardcore players as well. If you don't play all that much then you'll likely have very few issues with anima. If you play a lot, you can use anima to get around when time is of the essence but you'll have to conserve otherwise.
The anima system isn't hurting anything as it is. There are a few things that could be tweaked sure, like unlocking gates once you've physically been to them, but overall it's a good system.
What is so bad about it that they should remove it?
What's exactly bad about it?
It's not here to be used as the only means of transportation - it's just there for "quick plays" or "emergency situations".
We have mounts for some-what fast travel. It takes less than 5 minutes to get to most camps in the three zones. And less than 10 minutes to get to places like Broken Water or Iron Lake.
And airships provide a really cheap and fast way to get from city to city.
good constructive views there. pre 30 it only serves as a preventative
measure for new players who end up with 75% more leve's than anima
after waiting an entire day or 2. as i said, either triple the rate of increase
or get rid of anima completely. travel to camps as usual, hit the crystal, and
always have access to it without a seemingly arbitrary cost to go there.
Here, have these:
- Anima Economy
- Airships
- Chocobo
Hope it helps alleviate your problems! :)
Removing the actual cost of teleporting would completely negate the existence of the airships and it would make Chocobos a bit less useful. Port for free or walk/pay a fee? Obvious people would just teleport everywhere all the time. There needs to be some kind of restriction on it. Tripling the regen rate would essentially do the same thing, there would be little point in actually having the restriction.
How is it frustrating? You either teleport, or you don't...
Stop being a baby and play the game instead of crying about optional mechanics that don't change your game at all.
walk a bit, it may enlight you a bit :)
There'd have to be an alternative to Anima. I wish I'd known not to spam-use my Anima up at the beginning of the game as I did get frustrated when I ran out and had to walk everywhere without a chocobo. -- That part is annoying. However, I agree it shouldn't be taken off because once you do actually get a mount and start having enough gil to use the airships it's not bad.
tl;dr version:
Anima shouldn't be scrapped. It's useful as a quick-teleport and shouldn't be used excessively. - Hence why the regen rate is so slow.
great another crybaby makes a new topic about anima hate.
Lol, just saying.
Why triple? Why not at least double or to make it even fairer increase replenish times...in any terms the current replenish rate is dire, mainly when used to not keep party-required quests waiting too long, but the I'd rather the leve replenish rate be focused on more than Anima...its just something you get used to and SE will not get rid of it altogether, they need players like you to tediously plow through the game so they get their monthly subscription fees, why would they make gameplay faster? Get it?
Kailea, not to pick on you personally, but more the content of your post that obviously tells him he's doing it wrong, but also offers no assistance to help him understand exactly what he's doing wrong. The guy apparently has a problem with the game, so informing him of something that's readily apparent is surely a total waste of time. Help him change his mind by helping him discover ways he might better manage his resources.
Hello, and welcome to the Lodestone.
I can sense by your opening post that you are having some difficulty with the Anima system in place in our wonderful world. I can also sense that you are perhaps new to our world and the way of things on the Lodestone.
I highly encourage you to search through the Lodestone where you will find a wealth of information on the Anima systems, and countless discussions on both the pros and cons of using Anima, as well as how to manage Anima.
You may also wish to read the articles that have been published on the research of Anima and how it affects us as we use it to travel.
After you have read these (well over 1000+ discussions) on the Anima system and feel you can make a positive contribution, then I am sure we would all be very keen to listen and partake in further discussions.
In the mean time, may I suggest that you also pay heed to the advice given on how Anima is meant to be used, and the suggestions on how to conserve it.
But it should be noted that a fair point was also revealed here. Someone new to the world who has no understanding of Anima, but knows how to teleport, may quickly go through all their Anima right away, then regret it. Much like a child will eat all the ice cream in the kitchen then get sick and regret it.
Perhaps there should be some restriction on how much Anima you can user per day based on your level. This would help prevent new adventurers from using all 100 anima on teleporting between Camp Bearded Rock and Limsa Lominsa in one day as they do Levequests.
Thank you, and take care.
nah, it's more of a just say no to this thread. anima regen rate and usage is just fine as it is. i wouldn't mind alternative means to port, but triple the rate is horrible. there needs to be some kind of travel in the game or you may as well go play one of the online lobby games. there's plenty of them out there.
I agree. It's perfectly fine the way it is; even if it can be aggravating sometimes to not be able to take a shortcut.
OP is clearly a Troll, so stop feeding it.. Don't like anima then fine don't use, if you like it then use it.... I have never seen such poor behaviour over optional things in a video game.. stop trying to change the game.. especially with piece of shit ideas.. kkthxbye

Anima is fine.
i have no problems with anima, i rarely go under 50 anima and i manage to tele everywhere i need to go. you just need to manage yourself better. on the other hand, having ways to "earn" anima as a quest reward or something wouldnt be a bad idea. just because a few of you are upset at yourselves for treating it like the only mode of transport dosent mean you should complain to remove the whole system. works great for me earning dough though, just hang in Uldah and help a few blokes out then bazinga! i have lots of gil. i truely dont understand why this is even a topic let alone a meme of topics... i cant find one logical reason to remove it.
iono, this is a guy you can't just say no to o:

OMG! Stop this! This won't ruin the game, if you don't like anima don't use it!
I am with the, "anima is fine as it is" group.
