Though it's better to learn why these rotations are the way they are and come to your own conclusion on the best rotation for your playstyle, situation, ping ect
The job is getting a lot of needless hate. Now that FFlogs is showing rDPS ninja in Eden is parsing MUCH higher than you would have expected, ranking just above machinist in rDPS parses.
So if you enjoy the job, it's still in an alright spot when it comes to damage, just complicated to play.
Machinist is second from the bottom and nin is a melee. rDPS included Nin is performing pretty bad compared to the 3 other melees
That being said it doesn't mean you shouldn't start looking into the rotations, it might get buffed at some point. I wouldn't expect in major gameplay change but the potencies might get bumped.
Yeah, that's not what the parses are saying. Here's E1S for example (rdps means all contributions counted, so nin isn't doing 10,140 dps, them + their trick attack is contributing that) https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachmen...496/image0.jpg (that's at 90th percentile, so basically more or less the best players of each job)
Everyone is beating ninja, even RDM. Trick attack included.
My boss opener. Probably not the most efficient but its what I've gravitated towards. Ninja is still a mess and hard to play "perfectly" but I like to think I do OK.

Obviously after TCJ you want to use Fuma, Raiton before ending with Suiton.
If you're like me and not 80 yet, Hyosho Ranryu is another Raiton instead.
You might need to fill another weaponskill combo with AE before the last Bhavacakra to get the Ninki for it but I can't be sure without a striking dummy at the moment.
90th percentile is players who’ve been buffed beyond reason. Think dance partner, dragoon tether, Astro cards etc etc.
You’re better off looking at 75th percentile to see how jobs are doing when played well. Most the rDPS on jobs is nearly even. Ninjas rank 5th there when last I checked.
Correct. Pre-pull huton then suiton on pull followed by meisui as you're running in range. That gives you an easy headstart on your ninki so you can bunshin when you do trick attack. I'm still getting the exact order figured out, so I could be a little off on exactly how to do it, but so far that seemed the best use of the skills.
Also nice MTG signature ;)

It's changed with more parses uploaded, and they've dropped two spots since yesterday, but this shows dancer at the bottom of rDPS with ninja above them, bard and red mage, but the average parse of the bottom 6 DPS are all fairly close.
The problem is ninja competes with other melee, which there is a tangible difference. Saying "ninja is beating x-class" that is anything but melee is pointless. Rdps supposedly shows numbers with their TA in mind? The difference between them and the other melee is the problem.
Nerf TA. Ppl think that even with TA they should provide less rdps. In other words, they want the class to be useless outaide of superficial number padding. Even if TA let nin break even with another melee. Why bring nin who you have to work with to get them to break even, instead of another melee that could mostly do the same rdps themselves.
oh I will fully agree that the other three melee are overturned, especially monk (and I say this as someone who mains monk)
My opinion is that ninja is about where it should be for rDPS numbers and that the top four jobs that are dramatically outperforming other jobs need to be reigned in to bring them in line with every other DPS.
It depends on what you mean by in line. The thing i hate about rdps being seen now is that that is what people want to balance around. Which is a problem, because people see it like its still personal dps with "nin is fine they are supposed to do less dps because of utility"
The idea before was that jobs with more damage utility should do less personal damage while jobs without damage utility should do more personal damage. This has been the justification used for black mage and samurai for the past two years. Even in Heavensward you would use dragoon, bard, and ninja, all of whom had lower personal damage than monks and black mages, but you used them because the combined utility meant better overall damage.
So to me, a job like dancer should bring as much DPS to a raid as a job like black mage. Low personal damage, but its buffs should add enough to a raid to make it on par with a black mage, and this should exist across the roles, not just within the vaccuum of only comparing ranged to ranged, melee to melee, etc
This is what I say that the other melee jobs, and black mage are over turned. They have too much damage when you look at personal plus raid DPS when compared to every other DPS job in the game.
Honestly while i agree with most of it. You have to be careful with whats on par. That depends on the nature of the utility. Not all dps type utilities are just ambient buffs (like DNC standard finish) some like technical finish jave to be worked around. If at maximum cohesion of the raid, shifting their rotations to make most of a short dps utility it only breaks even with their counterparts, it is still less appealing than just streamlining the process and just taking the one that deals that damage innately.
The reason ppl compare dps with in roles, is because more often than not in a static you dont want all melee. For titania ex fight you are going to want at LEAST one ranged for pools but more than likely would be more efficient with two (ranged can still dps at ranged)
Not gonna argue that the other melee is overtuned (i agree with most of what you said) but considering how some of the utilities work, they havent made having them even worth it.
Oh cmon guys, I just wanted some rotations, ninja is not in a good place,we all know.
I posted it in another thread. My b xD.
That rotation tho didnt include dex pots. Ya wanna do it around the same time ya do misui. Also remember that during this rotation ya need to solve world hunger, get a science degree, learn astral projection amd have a balanced breakfast in between weaves...
Since that opener is kinda a mess (it is a lvl 73s opener i suppose tho so still a work in progress) here is a simplified version of one of the two current openers.

the rotation follows intuitively after given you abide by certain rules to minimize mudra loss etc.
