...Nerfing our butts in the transition from 1.0 was completely unnecessary.
Seriously, I hate running around with a rear shaped like a flat piece of cardboard.

XD i agree. Butts matters! Give real butts to everyone!
It floors me that people get so obsessed with the backside of their character. It's a small percentage of the character model and a completely insignificant percentage of the overall game. Is that really what you play this game for?
If you want some MMO with crazy sliders, go play some crappy F2P one where the entire budget went into the character creator and the cash shop.
Viera butts are just as flat as everyone elses if they don't have on their race outfit :P
It might not be what they play the game for. But for their characters it might be a nice touch. They do have to spend a large majority looking at the backside of their character so, its not completely lost to me why they would care about the butt at all.
But I want you to keep in mind, something that might have great importance to you, might not mean anything to someone else. We all care about different things on different levels.
The Viera race outfit is extremely powerful. Would love if they made a few all race outfits that reflect such glorious design. ❤
people here are obcessing over backsides. i sit here just wishing i had hips. it's the only thing that bothers me in this game. Females have a male hip size. I guess that falls under characters not having realistic proportions...
I think you may be right but I think someone needs to conduct a more in depth study.
Trying to convey to other RPG players what your character looks like in your mind has always been an important part of RPGs. Most of the character creation in this has to do with the face, and there is very little variation in body shape, though in realty people vary greatly. It's only natural that an RPG player would want some choices. Several high budget mmos that started out subscription based had body shape sliders.
Butts were never nerfed. The comparison picture floating around is misleading. The 1.0 miqo is emoting, that emote makes them stick out their butt. The other image is of a miqo standing straight.
Agreed. Back when I was an Elezen, this was the main thing I didn't like about the model. She'd look weird and disproportionate in a bikini or any gear that didn't cover the lack of behind. If they can do this for Viera, they can make all the ladies somewhat anatomically correct.
You're right, you're 100% right. I get the impression you're trying to argue against me by mimicking what I said, but you're somehow not doing a very good job of it.
I usually have it zoomed all the way out in combat because I'm not bad and usually keep an eye on the entire area (no matter what role I'm playing), not my character's ass. And when not in combat, I'm usually looking at where I'm going. Again, not at my character's ass, because then I wouldn't see where to go.
Playing zoomed in all the way the entire time will undoubtedly get you in some amount of trouble, you may want to reconsider that.
Equip any bathing suit type bottoms on a Viera and it's easy to see. The Viera Pantalettes (or w/e) are what give them more definition there. I think the best anyone could hope for is for some Seasonal Event items that do the same thing for all other races...
Some of us would like our characters to look attractive to us rather than just something on the screen or a power fantasy or other some such avatar. You're misrepresenting people if you think we just have a giant butt on our screen all day. Sure when I fight and need to pay attention I have it zoomed out for a full view of the battle. But in a cutscene or RP-ing around it's nice to have every aspect of your character be something you enjoy. If I take a substantial amount of gil and time crafting and sourcing an outfit, sometimes it's a little disappointing when it looks a little unflattering in the back, especially when most of what I look at during the game is from behind.
Relax a little and understand that different people look for different aspects of character customization and overall aesthetics can include butts.
As my 3d modeling professor once said, a good butt on a model is very important and not weird at all. It means the model itself is quite good.
I dunno about you guys, but I much rather prefer using attractive characters, because for me, it helps get me immersed in the game. Like an attractive actress or something. It’s why I use a “generic doll Hyur face” according to most people. That includes attractive body proportions like a normal sized butt for a female, and not a pancake.
Also, we really shouldn’t be calling each other “perverts”, especially when most of those people visit...*ahem* “adult websites” most of the time, lol. It’s not necessary to do that. Half of us like attractiveness, half of us don’t, agree to disagree!
I remember back when a "big butt" was an insult.
How time changes.
Lalalefell butt slider? Hmm not sure how I feel about getting a butt slider before a body hair slider.
I'm not sure why this concept is so hard for people to grasp. Glamour is the true endgame and playing as a character with attractive proportions puts emphasis and makes glamour look even better. The Viera Legging's are the best piece of glamour in existence.

Ooo okay I understand now. Still don't feel like it was "nerfed" in any way. Viera butts are just as flat, the thong just gives the illusion that it isn't. Also some of the replies on those threads are hilarious.
"he said he was not able to enjoy the game at all anymore because his character's butt was smaller. He called it a "game breaking flaw" and proceeded to rant for 50+ pages about not being able to look at his character anymore and "hiding her silhouette with robes."
I'm sorry but that's just creepy.
"Lmao, Damn that Garlean technology they zapped us with the transsexual gun now our woman are shaped like boys. I can't stand the sight of it, lol. This is not how I envisioned my character in 2.0. "
& that one..wow.
Doing something like changing how the pelvis tilts on miqo would do much to fix the no butt illusion honestly.
get used with japan, child death (in video game obviously), excessive blood, extreme violent? all quiet.
flat butt? no skimpy/sexy cloth? no panty shot? low quality thigh? flex hand, 5 paragraph complain forum, pitch fork ready and waiting.
in term of "offended" taste they are the exact opposite of murica
This game could be in its 20th year and people would still be talking about butts.
If I'm not mistaken now, I just remembered reading in another butt thread a long time ago, that there had been an official comment about the butt.
And that was that they didn't have any plans on changing them because making the butts bigger would stretch out the textures of clothing/armor pieces, and that would just make it look bad.
I can't link any source of any kind, since this is a vague memory.
But maybe someone else knows what I am refering to that has better knowledge or sources.
