Adjustments to the FATE Challenge Log in Patch 5.0

The honest question is quite frankly, why?

Is it to punish players who took the easy way out and did low level fates for easy exp? Because that's no different time wise than doing at level fates.

Just wondering how this change makes the game BETTER. Because that should always be the end goal of any change.

But in typical SE fashion, they won't tell us the reasoning behind the change. We have to guess and speculate.

Its almost certainly due to the Fate changes we are getting for the SHB area.

The Fate log (as well as the dungeon log) don't really help much once you hit 51, there rewards stay static once it hits 50. So not much of a change there.

1-50 already has had its exp gains in other areas greatly increased from what they were in ARR and thats before accounting for those with the Road to 60 (which will probably soon enough be 70) buff. This change won't affect them much.

We don't know yet, because we don't know about the actual change that's happening to that section of the challenge log.
Considering the FATE category only has those two objectives, it's pretty obvious that there's gonna be new objectives added to the category.

You straight up made a post about something we have no idea about..
They will probably improve and adjust the FATEs categories but theres no reason for them to tell you RIGHT NOW how and why..
They will probably include some of the currency we need to buy stuff from the FATE Vendor at the First etc.

Isnt it enough they warned people not to waste their time doing fates for "cheatting"[/s] exp points when 5.0 maint is over? xD

It was really 1mill xp a week for doing 10 fates regardless of level. A free mill xp is still a free mill. I hope they replace these with better challenges for the log in 5.0

This is actually incorrect.

The challenge log rewards for FATEs/Dungeons scale up to one level below the previous expansion's level cap. The FATE ones give 15% of a character's level, the dungeon ones give 10%/15%. At lvl 60+, those logs will give 388,800/583,200 exp (since the exp to go from 59 to 60 is 3,888,000)

The release of 5.0 will likely see them scaling up to lvl 69.

Hmm, it has been a long time since I've really looked at them. So I probably forgot this, thank you.

For all we know they're adding MORE fate challenge logs to make it a viable alternative for leveling past level 50
These 2 don't scale past level 50

I don't know why they never scaled fate exp and challenge log entries for fates to scale decently after 50.
It's clear they never intended for players to use fates after 50 for leveling, but I don't understand whyyyyyyy, because they never gave any other incentive to do them.
In SB they did tie a few mounts to a few of them, but mounts were never enough incentive for me to go out of my way and now SB fates are just as dead as HW ones.

I know they want dungeons to be the fastest method of leveling, but they could quintuple post 50 fate exp and dungeons would still be superior since they give in the range of a measly 1% exp needed.

They do scale past level 50, up until lvl 59, and they don't scale any less decently after 50 either. It's always been 15% of a level (for each of the two FATE ones), or 10% and 15% of a level (for the two dungeon ones).
And they'll likely start scaling up until lvl 69 with the release of 5.0.

Essentially, they warned us so we don't log in and wonder where it went. They are making changes to FATEs, which it may or may not be related to. All we can do is patiently wait and see what is to come. They could have just taken it and not said a word, and people planning to use it would still try to use it.

Firstly they max out 60, not 59. And secondly, are you referring to the FATE catagory ones scaling up? Both of the FATEs challenges are being removed entirely so there is no scaling involved for them. We do not know quite yet what they plan to implement to replace them, evne if they are replaced with anyting so can't really say what will happene till Early Access next week or close to when the patch notes hit.

Did you even bother to read the thread before posting?

Yes, they're being removed. No, they haven't been removed yet. My posts were pointing out the misinformation regarding FATE/Dungeon challenge logs not scaling past lvl 50, including the two challenge log objectives that are currently still ingame.

You just reiterated my point. It CAPS at 60, meaning it stops at 60. The end of the line for increased exp. 59 to 60 is the highest it goes. At 60 to 61 it remains what it was previously and doesn't go higher.

Meaning those challenge logs SCALE up until lvl 59, as in they stop scaling PAST lvl 59 (since they'll no longer scale when a character is at lvl 60).

Complete 5 FATEs with the highest rating possible.
In Your FATE II
Complete 10 FATEs with the highest rating possible.

Possibly designed to stop people from joining in at the last second of a FATE and instantly earning credit for the "complete ten FATEs" challenge.

A good point. It also reduces the region hopping and unique requirements so you can just sit in one zone doing whatever pops up regardless of whether you've done it before. This challenge category just became far easier.
